I think everybody did a top notch job; my favorite voices were Zidane, Amarant, Moorock, and Dagger's voice wasn't that bad either.

The problem with all of them is: they're using their indoor voices! I think all the voice-actors need to put the scene into perspective here; Zidane is having an emotional breakdown and is trying to disown his friends during his own time of need; I imagine, as his friend, I'd be a little more anxious in tone...! Needed more emotion -- overall I give it a B+

Amarant's voice sounds kinda like Solid Snake, lol. Pretty cool. Vivi and Freya sounds like they're using a gas masks (lack of sound quality), but the impressions are quite good (altought Steiner's voice sounds like he's whispering all the time, and just reading the text without much interpretation).

There are a lot of flaws, but it was a good try. Would be nice to play FFIX with voice acting.

Personally everything that gets dubbed always sounds overly-scripted to me. Not to say you or the voice-actors didn't do a good job though. Anyways, this ranks in the top 3 Final Fantasy scenes. Nobuo Uematsu is a musical genius. Scenes like this is what makes RPGs special. You can really connect with them.

Your voice actors basically need to know how to handle their microphones--if they record too close or too far away, the quality won't be great, and they have to know how to deal with their surroundings as well, like if there's a fan, TV, or washing machine running. A good quality microphone also helps. Other than that, they have to know how to portray feeling through their voice--they can't just read lines and expect it to sound good. The reads have to be backed up with an emotion or drive.
