The funny thing about MOST of the songs cornell sings on is that all the guitar riffs are so simple yet so catchy and awesome.Even if there was another chris among us in the world, this so called modern rock stuff just doesn't allow for vocals like this.Hopefully the new reunion changes that and people realize how unamazing rock vocals have gotten. It used to be that every band that was anything had an amazingly talented frontman. But I guess with more people listen to rap people get more tonedef.
weiland can't hold a candle to either eddie or chris was the point of my comment. to put him above either (especially chris) is pretty funny. vocally chris's old voice puts damn near ANYONE to shame, including weiland. listen to slaves and bulldozers, beyond the wheel, say hello 2 heaven, jesus christ pose. weiland can't hope to come anywhere near that.
I like the lyrics to Chris's new songs but the music behind is too hip hop. It surely isn't Christ Cornell. I think that timbaland guy was trying to sell Chris to a younger crowd.
Not true about Chris and his voice. Apparently, you haven't see him lately. Check out the new vids for this song posted late last year. You will have your mind changed!
Have you heard him lately? he can´t reach some high notes. Try listening him singing set it off, live. He´s still a good singer, a great composer, but his voice isn´t the same.
the only thing i've noticed is that he doesn't sing as clean as he did in the early 90's. i just watched his performance for msn from this year.. he does a few older songs and pretty much nails every note. yeah there might be a few crazy high notes here and there in the old recordings, but even when performed like way back then, he would still often avoid them.
I've never seen any TOTD from when they released the album. I was surprised about cornells voice being touch and go, he sounds a little drunk lol. But on the the album the vocals are layerd and produced to perfection. This is still a good show. All the vidoes are good, thanks for uploading them.
These are from the only gig they ever played @ de off ramp cafe in like november 1990 aren't they. Thanks a million fluttergirl.I FUCKIN LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THESE

weiland is a shameless mimic
ninjachipzanuff 3 years ago
Uhh.. No he not. Just because he sounds like Eddie Vedder in one song doesn't make him a mimic. And he is better than Eddie

i think he was at the time, but now cornells not a touch on vedder, cornell in my opinion has lost his roots and just isnt what he was
