  • I love all your videos and you are a wonderful piper. But i can not stand the way you strike in your drones!

  • dude, screw the guys who dislike this, you have great technique and you are very consistent. ive been playin for 5 years and i hope i can play that fast one day...Slainte'

  • Well done!

  • Play slower? I thought you took it at a nice tempo, I guess that guy isn't familiar with Cape Breton scottish music (that's the version played here) Great!!!

  • I'd suck his junk!! :)

  • DUDE! talk about acoustics!!!! what a great place for playing the pipes!!! sounds great, your whole set rocks, drones sound great and the chanter resonates perfectly!

  • Great job man. Any way you could send me the sheet music for this? Would really appreciate it.

  • wow i wish i could play like that^^

  • Once again another entertaining performance great tone from the drones and nice chanter sound, your little camera seems to have pretty good sound pick ups. Personal I like the acoustics under there also.

Once again I feel entertained Thanks

  • sounds GREAT! The brick/cement surroundings the sound is bouncing off of give a completely eerie echo to it all. You should try a video in a parking garage, I'll bet it will sound incredible!

  • Amazing once again Svensk gubbe, jatte bra! VERY good!

  • well played sir, ......Diloch Yn Fawr

  • Dej Svenska?

  • very nice job. i really like this song. does anyone have the sheets for it?

  • there was a piper in a park one time, i couldn't see him for the longest time, and the sound faded in, as I got closer. the sound raised the hair on the back of my neck. i'm gonna learn. i need to learn.

  • Respect!

  • i was wondering where that sound was coming from during the summer.

    jk. haha :)

  • any chance of a video tutorial on playing this chune? by far my favorite horn...

  • no.

i been asking for a year.

    ;o)

i know how ya feel...ian rules.

  • your finger work is excellent!! I want to be a piper like you!!!

  • Don't be a piper like him, be a piper like you! :)He is great, and that is no lie, but one HUGE mistake pipers make is to assume that all piping is to be Celtic in nature. Bagpipes are an instrument just like a guitar is an instrument, etc. and you should not play it like him or me, but develop your own style and likes and dislikes. I personally play mine in a blue grass band, and play more expressive, less technical pieces and I am happier for it.

  • You are quite talented. I picked up my chanter a few weeks ago, and found a good instructor. Your videos are very inspiring.

  • damn!!

  • Ian, great playing! Nice and clean and well controlled - that;s what he judges want to hear. Not a bad tempo at all so I would say keep it just like that! (The adrenaline will always increase tempo if being judged so CONTROL is key! Lovely show, well done!

  • You said you're using a sheep skin bag. I suppose you have to season it. I much prefer a synthetic bag, just a personal preference.

    Regardless, very good job.

  • Great piping! Class tune!

  • another kickass pipe tune...

(hey I'm fianlly learnin tarlouaths now)

    :o)

    steve

  • Very good piping! Sounded out of tune initially, but may have been echoes or the mic. Curious that your desc goes off about your clothes... ah well. Keep up the good piping!

  • it may be the angle of the camera but it looks like you are about to fall over...not criticizing your playing take me on that

  • i see what you mean.hmmm, I think it may be attributed to the angle of the camera as the camera is tediously placed on top of a thick hardcover book which is in turn placed on top of my, of all things, pipe case. I don't use my tripod b/c it's one of those old, clunky ones with legs that screw in+out from each other, & it's a burdensome thing to have to lug w/ me... embarrasing to set up actually.

  • or the intense heat of the day could be the reason for me looking like i'm about to fall over. plus i don't like the way my bag was cut or how the drones feel on my shoulder+chanter placement... but after one spends $350+ on a new sheepskin bag and the holes are cut, if one doesn't like it, what is one to do? put up with it I guess, which is what i have been doing for 2 years this coming Pleasanton. I see a new sheepskin bag in my future - perhaps for Christmas?

  • Good sound and tone...just practice in front of a mirror so you can see your appearance. You really don't look comfortable.

  • how so?

  • woooooooow :D I like it to much :D

keep playing!! :D you are the best

    -I am your fan #1-

  • sounds like ryan canning....

    but only younger...and more dashing!!

    :o)

  • Pipers wear feather bonnets in order to GET that poofy hair look...

  • if you play bit slow it be nice tune, but 100%

  • huh? you don't make any sense

  • its a hornpipe, its suppost to be fast.

  • oh sorry,ty for saying to me i still like it:)

  • no need to appologize. from your channel it looks your still learning. youll know all of this stuff in time.

  • :) that why i doing comment too learn:)

  • 5*****+*
