  • not really aged that well, maybe he should try more makeup, got to be an improvement. think I saw him on the London Underground back in November, so I approached him, but it wasn't David Sylvian, it was a look-a-like, but this complete stranger was very pleasant and polite and said that David probably wouldn't be riding the tube, not at that time of day (it was early in the morning)

  • Wonderful!

  • good song & good photos~

  • sylvian is a fking genius

  • This song did not depress me, its a rose that talks about some of life's thorns. The songs petals slowly open and reveals both the beauty and pain of life. I loved it. He describes the common so beautifully, he brings dignity to it, so its doesn't depress me, it just reveals the beauty and peace even in the mundane, in spite of the duress. Dang these guys are smart ! what insight !

  • It's absolutely new for me!! Great song, it remind me the best Sylvian's period!!

  • I'm so chuffed to find a "new" Sylvian classic~!

  • Best thing DS (and SJ) have done for a while. Great song.

  • How lovely... thank you RO xox

  • I'M JUST

    SPEECHLESS.

Love this man with all my heart.

  • Didn't know this beautiful song ... Sylvian is such a force, love, respect and admire him so much....!!

  • Very nicely put......

  • a poignant message...protesting the modern experiment called Mass Forced Schooling...sparks of life squelched

  • The song is from his brother Steve Jansens album Slope. The credits on the album for this track say...Sylvian Jansen..so i would think it was co written by them both but i am not 100% sure

  • Is it his song?It listened for the first time.

  • great combination of (brotherly) talent.

  • Again, I have to say it, it's like alking on a dream... That's Sylvian voice

  • Sylvian=the voice, unique, poetic, pure, sensitive...

Love this song from the album "Slope" by his brother Steve (Jansen), who also sings (brilliant) in `My winter´, listen to it, a must.

Thank yo so much `frazerrothko´, very good composition & pics, SYLVIAN forever...

...but I wonder how people could let pass life without knowing Sylvian´s music, poor `souls´.

  • The song is by Sylvian's brother Steve Jansen, from his album Slope on Samadhisound records. there is also a version sung by Nina Kinert on the same album.

  • David Sylvain wrights the soundtrack to my life,

For all of us who where bulled and suffered at school.

  • there's a version with a female voice as well

  • Thank you David, you are special to me.

  • this beautiful voice is called DAVID SYLVIAN, the best artist in the world!!!!

  • Beautiful song & pics, thank you

  • It doesn't get much better than this, does it?

    Outstanding song!

  • what an amazing song..that beautiful voice with all the passion and genius that goes with it...truly amazing

  • could listen to his voice until the cows come home.Lets hope they all forget where they live. I feel sad they people wont listen to his music because it sounds depressing. If you can tune your mind past the initial sound and show a little patience there is a complete gold mine waiting for you.

  • It's pretty good....I love ballad of a deadman...:)

  • Thankyou.

  • This song is off Steve Jansons new album Slope with vocals from brother David as there is no video some pics

  • "Steve Jansen"

  • @frazerrothko are you sure, someone told me that it was the other way round, Steve singing on David's album! But the vocal sounds like David Sylvian, but Steve was able to do a good impression of his brother, as i saw Steve Jansen in concert in this working men's club in Warrington back in the summer. Probably one of the best gigs I've been to, very up close and personal. Mick was on bass

  • @isleoforkney Hi there, yes its David singing on Steve's Album Slope. Know what you mean though Steve is a great singer to,

  • @frazerrothko God bless you frazerrothko. ( should be "too" not "to". Sorry for being pedantic, I can't help it!)
