You rub people the wrong way, are unaware of it and, thus, unable to change. It sucks. Read "The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome." Also, you should study how to trade stocks, since that is a job that requires little social interaction to be successful and is geared towards those who are intelligent (aspies) and those who can engage in routine without succoming to emotional decisions (again, aspies). Warren Buffett only ate hamburgers and likely is on the spectrum.
Until High School I had few friends, and the closeness with my friends matched that of most people's acquaintences. Once friendship with males (and being female) had not become looked down upon, and the males did not hesitate to befriend me, I found that my population of friends, especially close friends, really increased, and unsurprisingly they are all male. I don't wish to sound sexist, but in general, I find males to be a lot more logical and Aspie-friendly, regarding friendship.
No kiddin, just don't think so much anymore that you are psychological bullied. I was a lot but people do that because they feel insecure about themselves when they are around people who are TS or adhd especially autistics, well deal with it I don't know what to do else!!!
Females are the worst as you can't hit them back. They can always push you to breaking point. Males its easier as you feel like you can challenge them, most will back down. If they don't at least you have a chance to have a go and show you are no wimp. The work place is a dog eat dog world. It is no good to simply get past the interview its survival after that point. You are judged on your first day. Not just by the Boss but by the people you work with. They sum you up and that is that.
That's interesting because I've always found it easier to get on with girls than boys. I don't know why, I just feel more confident around girls (though maybe that's why I've never been picked on by girls, I dunno). I hate all this macho bullshit that comes wih a lot of boys.
I always get cnfused when AS people talk about this sort of stuff cos I don't know whether it should apply to me or not since HFA is very similar but not exactly the same.
They are similar, and the line seperating them is quite blurring. Often times people are diagnosed with an Autistic Spectrum disorder, but it is still a misdiagnosis and they really actually have Asperger's rather than HFA. It would be safe to say that it applies to you.
My friend is HFA in London. I always feel he is very similar to me. I think the only think that separates us is the Label. I don;t know what defines it
I too get on with Women better than I do Men. I hate the chatter about who scored last night, who should have played better at football etc. But when Women get together in the work place they become really evil. If you are their target then watch out. They can be 10x worse than blokes, because they use psychological warfare. That means that they find a chink in your armer and just chip away until you go under. I should know it happened to me and I am still feeling the effects today.
I suppose I've never felt that because bullying had never been an issue for me since I started at secondary school. I suppose unlike a lot of people in the learning support base at our school, I gelled my hair and wore what other people wore, more bcause it gave me confidence than anything else and apparently I never stuck out much (except in my grades lol). I suppose Iwas lucky as well as I got in with a group of geeky friends and the awkward social traits didn't stand out quite as much there.
With regards to the differences between HFA and AS, apparently my psychologist explained the (albeit very subtle) difference between them when I was dignosed. Unfortunately, I was 8 so don't remember :D.
