This is exactly what the Solstice and Sky were built to do, but taken to the extreme: contend with the Miata.

GM was targeting the same market as the Miata, S2000, and Z4: a small, FR, 4 cylinder convertible.

Bring it back GM! Just sell it as a Chevrolet, maybe revive the name of one of Chevy's old smaller sporty cars for it, like Vega, Nova, Monza, or Chevette.
