The point of the song is that if anything becomes an idol in your life, even music - i.e. your guitar, you need to get rid of it. Only One is worthy of worship.

In regards to the One Bad Pig guitars (including the onstage bit with multiple smashers), we always used beat-up old instruments, usually unplayable pawn shop jobs, to make our visual point. Shoot, some of the electrics we smashed again and again and...
