By the way, Sufi is a collection of schools of thought. As far as I know, there is no strict music genre called sufi. I guess this song has strong influences from the Sufi thought, so, in that sense, you can call this sufi music.

1-Beyond amazing and breath-taking rendering of beautiful poetry.wadali brothers are second to none.

2-there is nothing called PAKISTANI classical Music as "WE"just have what we took when we left our home land Hindustan. classical music of hindustan took 100s of years to take a concrete shape.&"WE"r just a 60 year old country.a little too early for comparison.but we also took home some artists from HIND and they still respect and practice the great Hinduatani Kalaa of Raags and rythm.

Classical Families have kept up their traditions and in Pakistan there is a small town Kasur from where some of the Great classical families resided to name a few Ustad Baray Ghulam Ali Khan , Ustad Barkat Ali and Madam Noor Jehan.

Its sad when we start discussing Politics with Music or any other Art.

both are human! My father the great Pandit Vasant Rai was trained by a muslim Ustad allauddin Khan. allauddin khan kept my father a hindu/rajput for 9 years at his house and taught him.

great redition of the song. Its funny though, one of the singers (the 'lead' singer) is a LOT better than the other. The second one is very mediocre with respect to the first one.. its irritating, because the first one does such intricate and beautiful harkats and taans while the other one just reiterates simply... I'd like it a lot better if the main singer sang it by himself.

I believe this is because the main singer, Ustad Puran Chand Wadali, was trained by none other than the great classical singer Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. He was very regular in traditional-style wrestling in his young age so, I think, has got better stamina for long harkats and taans. However, first reason is more prominent, in my view.

thansk for clarifying that! I see, it really shows in his singing. I have not heard much of bade Gulam Ali Khan. Although I have heard a few of his songs here on youtube. He was not only an awe-inspiring singer but also critiqued Hindustani classical music very well. I remember his comments about how people in different part of India have unique styles/gharanas of singing and what their strenghts are.

Nusrat Fateh Ali, Rahat Fateh Ali, Ghulam Ali and Wadali brothers are all like different kinds of flowers in a garden. They are all very talented and very nice people.
