What does it look like to lead when others won't follow?

First, this is a great video! Lane's answer to lay down one's life is challenging and warrants careful consideration at to what that actually means. When I have seen people attempt to do this it often turns into co-dependency. It often takes more wisdom than is possible on our own to lay down our lives in such a way that it is doing what is best for the other person rather than to just make them happy or keep the peace or get them to follow your lead.
