great comments.. I have to agree that Rodman and Mahorn should of inbounded the ball instead of celebrating. You want Isiah to shoot free throws not Rodman or Mahorn. Bird made a super-human effort. He did not think a slow o,, ld hurting Bird could cover that distance. Blame the coach. There is a play for that situation.
bird is such a legend its not even funny man seriously....
when you think of legends, freakin GIANTS of the game, you think of moments, you think of mvps, chips, all that...
tell me ONE kobe moment, just one, serously..... i guess lebron has ONE, and that would be the game against detroit where the refs HANDED HIM THOSE POINTS BASICALLY b/c back in the day they'd sit his ass on the hardwood HARD, but handcheckin is done...

@KroMcLovinFaSho, ironically, it was to cut down on the likelihood of the inbound pass being picked off. He obviously had the best passing skills on the team.
I was around 15, I was in a beanbag in my parents living room. I am a huge Bird fan and a huge Celts fan. It looked bleak for the Celts when Bird stole the inbounds pass. I came out of my beanbag and hit the roof when it happened. Probably the most memorable moment for me in NBA history.
I know people throw the word "epic" around alot now... but if I had to trully describe what I just saw in words, I'm sure that epic would be included in there somwhere.

@FrsBigeasy hey thats a facdt, and it makes it more remarkable to me... whether you like what i am saying does not make it dumb, It is both true and remarkable.... people do say the dumbest things... but in this case this person did not say anything stupid at all
Your entitled to your opinion but when someone makes it about race when its about Basketball and a player's ability to play I call it an ignorant thing to say
Even though Larry Bird was 6'9 and played both Small and Power Forward, he shot over 90% from the Foul Line, 40% from the 3 Point line and could handle and pass the ball like a Point Guard even though he Rebounded and Defended like a Power Forward. Its not just that he had the best Eye Hand Coordination but he had it when the Celtics needed it most like in the 87 Eastern Finals when he stole that inbound pass from Isiah Thomas and assisted Dennis Johnson on that game winning Layup..
Well, the internet existed back then, just that mostly computer nerds had it, not everyday people. I was shocked to hear Howard Stern in 1994 had a cable modem.
In fact I was reading an article of an old video game magazine talking about the up coming Sega Genesis, and an adapter that would give it the ability to connect to the internet. That's all back in the 80s. Sorry didn't mean to write so much about the internet.
First of all There was like 3 secs left when bird stole it, and he couldnt get to the rim in time, and isiah played defense since it was a turnover so he had to spot up for a shot. He really couldnt do nothing so ur wrong sorry

The greatest basketball ever played by a human were Birds efforts in game 5 and game 7 of the 1987 ecf eastern confernce finals against detroit-scroll through my favorites if anyone wants to see some of it
actually this was late spring 1987 Mr Briscoe---your right about the 86 team though-the pistons would never have that team on the ropes-with Big Bill Walton and his talents and tenacity rotating off the bench-Mchale and parrish were able to get rest and were healthy for the post season, that team was 54 and 1 at home including post season play--so dominating that the lakers let the rockets have the west so they wouldnt have to face them in the finals- But boston didnt chicken out to them in 87
Kinda wish they'd show the Bird- DJ hug afterward ;just a great moment; RIP,DJ ;they BETTER put you in the Hall of Fame next time;one of the best defensive guards ever;and one of the great clutch playoff shooters.
RIP DJ indeed. Larry Bird called him the best teammate he ever had—and remember, he formed the greatest front-court ever, with Robert Parish and Kevin McHale.
Jordan and Pippen were a great duo and they both needed each other during the bulls run.. However, Pippen was only good as a second option. One of the best second options to ever play the game, but his role was the second option. His stats and everything else proved it. There is nothing wrong with being a second option by the way..
srry in advance, I dont really get this. If the Pistons were taking the ball out at the Celtics side, why did they pass it so close to the Celtics' basket?
That you would have to ask Isiah Thomas, I don't think he ever gave a good reason for it. What he should have done was call timeout and advance the ball up the court.

Your opponent team gots the ball, they got 1 point lead, 2 seconds left, NBA Finals Series tides at 3-3. Some1 steals the ball and you won the match - won the finals. And you still can say "nothing special"... Title says "Amazing Playoff Moments", NOT "Amazing Playoff Plays"!
guys shut up about kobe without a center. kobe won without a great center. yes bynums back hooray only to get his ass wooped by dwight. and pau isnt even a true center hes a forward. kobe won without a great center end of story
kobe couldn't win a canmpionship without Pau and Bynum, after 2004, after shaq had been traded to the heat, lakers didn't appeared in the Finals for 3 years, the lakers struggled this past 3 years in 2004 they didn't appeared in the playoffs, in 2005 and 2006 the suns defeated the lakers. so kobe couldn't make it to the palyoffs and finals without any help from Pau and Bynum.
no shit he couldnt win without pau or bynum, if they werent on the court it would be 4 on 5, duhh and also, kobe wasnt a big scorer with shaq, he took on defensive roles and set up plays with shaq, he only started becoming a more attacking player around the 2006 mark, and hes proven to be probably the best jump shooter in the league now so shhhhh
NOT TRUE... he's just so big and strong that when guys foul him it is hard to tell because his body doesnt move. He wont say but I would guess hes 280 which is insane for his talent and speed
all that is individual, and wat playoff sucess? losing a game 7 to boston and being swept in the finals? come on, these guys were all great because they knew how to play with a team, how to go by the name on the front of the jersey instead of the one on the back. lebron has to do something with his team,,,, win a championship.
kobe this year has fisher.. who as you can see ifs very useful adn was also there with kobe when he won 3 rings with shaq. and then ariza. oh my god, the trades golden state would havta make to get that kind of guy. wihtout ariza's defense and energy, the lakers would be gone and it would have been magic-nuggets or magic-rockets. not to mention pau gasol; without pau, the whole playoff picture for the lakers would have been gone. and without bynum, howard would be unstoppable. no odom no 6th man
the only thing that would make my whole theory "dead" is if kobe loses this year, the lakers players today all sign with different teams, and kobe stil manages to get a 3peat with a shitty laker team
you first said that fisher, ariza, gasol, bynum, odom are helping kobe alot and more than i can imagine, TRUE.
But then u said this like ''and kobe stil manages to get a 3peat with a shitty laker team ''
What did u mean?
Anyway, even if kobe wins this year i doubt people will say kobe never won without fisher, bynum or any other. Shaq is a beast, no one from the lakers team can beat him except maybe kobe.
no no no isaid that IF had the lkaers lost this year and evryone opt out and shit, kobe still can get another 3-peat then he will be jordan-comparable.
and yeah technically kobe has only be this laker team's leader for a year, so technically, he still got 5 to go. ( and some more scoring titles, MVps all that good stuf)
no u can't. coz jordan never won anything by himself either. he always got pippen and later rodman. plus the bench was always good and complementary. Jordan had good teams too.
Jordan alone did not make the team as good as it was. remember when Jordan retired the first time, Pippen led the bulls to the postseason with only 2 less wins than the season before. That's one whole season without the greatest player of all time and you just suffer 2 wins less. The Bulls were a good team. Jordan was the best but you are giving him way too much credit and not enough to his supporting cast. NOBODY can win it all alone. not even MJ and he never did.
damn! this is the best nba commerical i have ever seen period. it's sick. nostalgic. all quiet, and you can hear the squeeky noise then the crowd going all nuts then it's all gone.
He wasnt saying being bigger and faster makes you a better player but if you really think players in the 80s were actually bigger or faster you need to watch a few games...Lebron is probably one of the most physically athletic players in NBA history
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yea............lebron is the greatest ever forget russel, chamberlin who? lebron is da shiz niz. Kareem my ballsacs and oh jordon dont even. Championships are for lard heads i want a guy who can throw the cocain in the air and show his biceps. Bird go home to momma majic go back to state. Lebron is the greatest ever to step on the floor because he says so!
yeah what the fuck are these people saying, you cannot compare players from this time to players way back due to the physical enhancements and supplements they can take to improve their shit now
ok yes i agree at this point in time you can not compare lebron to the all time greats. but you can not say that he has not done shit in his career. he is a phenomenal player and is on track to break the all time scoring record. his team is also down 3-1 in the playoffs, he's dropping almost 40 points a game, he is carrying the rest of his team who are playing like shit. he can not do anymore than he is doing now

personally, i agree with CanadianIndian88.....if anyone even touches lebron james its a foul...its bull crap!!
hoopzbaby24 2 years ago
NOT TRUE... he's just so big and strong that when guys foul him it is hard to tell because his body doesnt move. He wont say but I would guess hes 280 which is insane for his talent and speed
halo3spartanstud 2 years ago
Yea is that why, they called Howard on the foul...when he blocked him clean From behind...
James should be called for offensive fouls...he always RUNS into the defender...while the defender is still moving his feet.

ya well hes has an mvp a scoring title and alot of playoff success, and hes 24 years old, calm the fuck down and dont shit your pants over it though
brentmazza 2 years ago
all that is individual, and wat playoff sucess? losing a game 7 to boston and being swept in the finals? come on, these guys were all great because they knew how to play with a team, how to go by the name on the front of the jersey instead of the one on the back. lebron has to do something with his team,,,, win a championship.

Kobe won when he was 22...
CanadianIndian88 2 years ago
with shaq
goldenstateketchup 2 years ago
then shaq won without kobe... right?
yeah sure thats right but he won with d-wade
And this year its 3-1 finals lakers ...you have kobe but not shaq
So ure whole theory is dead
joeeygtx 2 years ago
kobe this year has fisher.. who as you can see ifs very useful adn was also there with kobe when he won 3 rings with shaq. and then ariza. oh my god, the trades golden state would havta make to get that kind of guy. wihtout ariza's defense and energy, the lakers would be gone and it would have been magic-nuggets or magic-rockets. not to mention pau gasol; without pau, the whole playoff picture for the lakers would have been gone. and without bynum, howard would be unstoppable. no odom no 6th man
goldenstateketchup 2 years ago
the only thing that would make my whole theory "dead" is if kobe loses this year, the lakers players today all sign with different teams, and kobe stil manages to get a 3peat with a shitty laker team
goldenstateketchup 2 years ago
why did u just reply urself
you first said that fisher, ariza, gasol, bynum, odom are helping kobe alot and more than i can imagine, TRUE.
But then u said this like ''and kobe stil manages to get a 3peat with a shitty laker team ''
What did u mean?
Anyway, even if kobe wins this year i doubt people will say kobe never won without fisher, bynum or any other. Shaq is a beast, no one from the lakers team can beat him except maybe kobe.
joeeygtx 2 years ago
no no no isaid that IF had the lkaers lost this year and evryone opt out and shit, kobe still can get another 3-peat then he will be jordan-comparable.
and yeah technically kobe has only be this laker team's leader for a year, so technically, he still got 5 to go. ( and some more scoring titles, MVps all that good stuf)
goldenstateketchup 2 years ago
yea kobe wouldnt have won if he didnt have good players around him. but dat goes for all nba teams.
n im tired of ppl comparing kobe 2 jordan . when kobe can win a 3peat all by himself with a crappy laker team then u can start comparing them
ZSX1112 2 years ago
no u can't. coz jordan never won anything by himself either. he always got pippen and later rodman. plus the bench was always good and complementary. Jordan had good teams too.
DeanGl 2 years ago
u kidding me? jordan MADE his team good. pippen was shit after the '98 season which was when jordan retired
LiLkRnMofo 2 years ago 5
Jordan alone did not make the team as good as it was. remember when Jordan retired the first time, Pippen led the bulls to the postseason with only 2 less wins than the season before. That's one whole season without the greatest player of all time and you just suffer 2 wins less. The Bulls were a good team. Jordan was the best but you are giving him way too much credit and not enough to his supporting cast. NOBODY can win it all alone. not even MJ and he never did.

He wasnt saying being bigger and faster makes you a better player but if you really think players in the 80s were actually bigger or faster you need to watch a few games...Lebron is probably one of the most physically athletic players in NBA history

Yea your that fucking 10 year old kid who loves James...Fuck off,
Why the fuck are you even comparing James to Chamberlain, Russell, Jordan, Dr.J, Bird, Thomas
James hasnt done shit in his carrer yet...
CanadianIndian88 2 years ago 2
yeah what the fuck are these people saying, you cannot compare players from this time to players way back due to the physical enhancements and supplements they can take to improve their shit now
fr33kstyle 2 years ago
ok yes i agree at this point in time you can not compare lebron to the all time greats. but you can not say that he has not done shit in his career. he is a phenomenal player and is on track to break the all time scoring record. his team is also down 3-1 in the playoffs, he's dropping almost 40 points a game, he is carrying the rest of his team who are playing like shit. he can not do anymore than he is doing now
alexduncan21 2 years ago
Please stop talking about Lebron...dunt even mention him with these great legends...
These days, you touch lebron, and the bloddy refs call a foul. The game is getting ridiculous.
CanadianIndian88 2 years ago 2
Big talk... I doubt you even know much about these legends.. Sigh..
