Semi permanent colors last only about 8-10 weeks (depending on how often you wash your hair) and technically they are not designed to "lighten" hair, only to place a deposit on the hair. If you want to lighten black hair (especially natural hair), you will have to use a color with high levels of peroxide or a 'booster' to lighten it. In my case, the color was VERY subtle only because i had some places of hair that had already been lightened from previous color.
Gotta love that aussie shit... my boyfriend used the shampoo for almost a year and all his hair started falling out, I made him stop using it, and since then, it has all grown back. So keep on using it i dare ya!
Oh my goodness I wish I were still in my 20s LOL. I am 33...so the greys are starting to "creep up" one by one. Plucking doesn't work for me. I will probably end up either doing a really dark rinse, or some form of permanent color to 'blend'...
