  • Ahhh,....very nice! I was looking for that one. Did you see it? Har, Har, Har,....I think I will practice my kata some more.

  • Very nice. Shotokan from what I hear did have some influence form old school jujitsu as well as the traditional Okinawan art to which had a strong aikido/jujitsu like techniques. Also many older and high ranking Karate black belts were black belts in Judo or jujitsu before they took karate or did both at the same time.

  • @BushiWaazup Amen to that Osu....

  • Very fascinating--I think Shotokan needs to bring throws/takedowns, etc. back into it

  • @gropious3 it is making a comeback i know the iskf has always included throws and take down in kumite, even when learning ippon kumite we always incorporate throws and sweeps.

  • @gropious3 shotokan was awsome art but funakoshi facked it..as he was sick skinny he only saved kata

  • @bushidoartss Funakoshi didn't fack a thing, the JKA facked Funakoshi's karate.

  • look how skinny he is!! =)

  • This is a great video, it shows that Kase Sensei was good at Judo, which he did before, I think he reached Sandan before starting karate.

  • What video/movie is this clip from? Thanks.

  • great!

  • this is the sohoto kan i like no the sportie

  • @cochechin84 One of those throws is from Nijushiho!

  • haha any1 who dont thinks this works is ignoring simple mechanics. leg sweep+arm pull=throw

  • these are actually not bad techniques

  • I like the last but one. Very slickly done. What video is this from? Is there more?

  • Yes for many years

  • true Martial artists dont insult each other,we should all be brothers whatever the style you practise.

  • @retardedjoe12

If that was so true then there wouldve never been any kind of fighting in the history of martial arts what so ever.

  • @Kinghercules your understanding is about a slow as your reply, watch the film Kuro-obi you might get some understanding of Kara-te

  • i hate to pull the peace card, but why don't we stop fighting over which style is better and just remember that it is entirely up to the individual fighter to prove his worth.

or we could go old style and show up at eachother's dojo and demand to fight the sensei. yes? no?

  • Are there any application in a kata of the last throw of the video?

  • Empi kata contains a throw much like that.

  • y do u watch this if u hate it i take karate and if u look that is really not my age or is it

  • Asshole!!!!!!!!

  • faggot

  • You're stupid. I know that you are beaten up by a shotokan karateka, and now you hate shotokan. You're asshole and faggot and everything similiar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, yeah? So you're beaten up. You are weaker than a fly!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is only a demonstrarion, you faggot

  • @acerwk Where is the technique? Answer: In China! Japanese have nationalized Karate and have taken the realistic applications completely out of the art and replaced it w/ this BS! I guess the goal was to take an Okinawan art that really has it's roots mostly in China and try to lay claim to it as being "Japanese" by coming up w/ this shit! The good news is that arts throughout Asia have many of the same techniques w/ correct applications. So it can be restored if some1s got the balls!

  • You should check my video, Shotokan vs. Aikido

  • faggot

  • acerwk just shows up on all the shotokan videos because it allows him to get attention. He's most likely someone that got thrown out of a Shotokan Dojo for being an idiot and/or not fit to teach and because of that he lashes out on all the videos he sees. In doing so he gets people replying and he gets to hide behind the Internet and be a tough guy that "knows all." It's really sad watching him.

  • i like to just mock the fact his dads dead, usually shuts acewank right up.

  • cool

  • WOW second throw rocks!!!!!!!

  • first throw is so good

  • i want to learn these throws in karate all we do is tsuki mae geri tsuki mae geri...

    and some kata

i think these throws also belong to karate

  • Yes indeed. Under Kase's method throws like these are practiced to finish after a counter-attack, but first you must earn your black belt to show skill in the foundation of karate: striking and blocking techniques.

  • I deesegre...I think throwing techniques (nage waza) should be practiced from the begining, so a student can learn how to fall (ukemi waza). That's a big problem in karate that al these atractive and usefull tec. are being forgotten:/...

  • Hmm, maybe so, but what use are ukemi waza if you cannot fight? They are not hard to learn. We certainly must not forget that this is part of karate.

  • Great Video.

  • comome gusta ese karate

  • Excelente video, mostrando un karate muy completo... un verdadero arte

  • Excelente video, al fin pude ver al maestro Kase realizando aplicaciones de su versión del Shotokan
