  • many of you do not know the history. karate, aka kara, originates from kung fu. then, karate has some influence on tkd. of course, they sometimes look similar in motion. however, it is the way of motion that makes a lot of difference. kungfu forms hide the way of jin (acceleration) in the form. only traditional kara still have that. modern karate and tkd is now more a sport than a martial art.

different interpretations of force create different style.

  • The Karate guy had to buy the black belt i guess. I had been training karate for many years long and this is no karate. No speed, no reflexes, impossible...

  • where's the kung fu? this shit is JV at best

  • looks like karate with teakwondo

  • both karate. no kung fu

  • this looks ALLOT like TeaKwonDo. are you sure this is karate

  • this looks ALLOT like TeaKwonDo. are you sure this is karate

  • are they wearing cooking gloves?

  • practicality lies in simplicity in a lot of cases, what you say efficient in combat is those arts that are not pretty to the eye in most cases while at the same time are very deadly, krav maga, silat, wing chun, and many more, some arts are not about destroying your opponent, like wushu, it's a way of life and there's a lot more to it than just the physical part, each to his own preference.

  • they're both karate do! Sorry misleading text.

  • 0:38 karateka did well to block that kick

  • Video should be called "Inappropriate Axe Kicks".

  • there's sky above the sky, and the sky have no border....

  • To Anyone Who does not know Muay Thai is more dominant as a ring or combat system then TKD that does not mean TKD is not good. TKD has many great things about it. this just means Muay Thai is better for that particular system... Combat. if your into weapon fighting TKD is great and very flashy but once again if you want a real hard core combat with weapons look into Karabbi Krabog its a bit more effective.

  • @RickSomchaiAgain This is true. Even Joe Rogan, the man known for bashing traditional martial arts, has said TKD has some good moves in it.

  • @reptile202 yes it does have many its just not a point blank fighting system... a lot of it is unnecessary and if you try to use unnecessary things is real fighting your going to wish you didn't lol

  • @RickSomchaiAgain True. It' the same-way with kung fu. You only see a few sports fighters like Cung Le who can make side-kicks and scissor kicks connect correctly without getting owned.

  • @RickSomchaiAgain There are differences between military TKD and competition TKD as well. There is nothing wrong with training for competition, but unfortunately a lot of "competition-clubs" claim they train Selfdefense or Combat. Competition techniques, I boldly claim, have never been used with success in a combat situation. and by combat situation i mean when you are jumped from behind by 2-3 guys in a WC, or in military situations. but most MA's have been used by f.ex. military at some point.

  • Ehhh yeah i do .... I use to teach at Nick Cerio's Kenpo Karate & TKD in Daytona Beach Florida and at the age of 25 Moved to Bangkok Thailand training at Ingram Gym in Muay Thai, Im now married To a Thai and live there on and off. So dont act like you know me, and dont tell me what I know. also many of my Hmong Friends study Kung Fu so I have been around all 4 arts lol I think its the other way around buddy Your the one who knows nothing....

  • im not seeing any Kung fu here its finny how they fight in TKD they only know how to fight another TKD fighter how would ether of them react to a quick body slam or muay this lol not too well i think

  • @RickSomchaiAgain You know nothing about TKD nor Kung Fu or Karate. Also, Muay Thai is just stupid street fighting which has quite bad defenses and whether the guys are strong or not, it's about the techniques you use not how strong you are. Those guys would beat a Muay Thai boxer or a UFC fighter with under a minute.

  • @RickSomchaiAgain THATS RIGHT. Tkd is bad as american karate. they teach sport not defense. they dont teach how to block or deflect attacks that are not in there art. which is the same thing with boxing. ive never lost a fight to a boxer because when you kick there knees out they dont know how to react. same with TKD go out side there comfort zone for the win

  • @dbspaceoditty well it depends on the fighter as well its not always what you use, I seen some really bad Muay Thai and kick boxers as well this is why MMA is so popular because you have to be ready for anything that could happen. TKD has alot of turning kicks it the time it takes you to do a spinning back hook kick lol say fighting a Thai boxer the thai boxer will already move in for the kill just watching them I can see over 100 times they are open again & again

  • Haha, all the dislikes are from karate fighters

  • isnt that taekwondo? idk im not specialist but i swear those are taekwondo kicking system.. but fuck those are some nice kicks.

  • With all due respect to Ehsan. The core of every eastern martial art known to me is basically to end fighting, to create peace, inner and outer balance. Humbleness. The opposite of a bloated ego. Seeing you uploading highlights (always from your perspective) makes me wonder how you approach this part? Have you never been hit iin a fight, or do you cut that part out here? And do you also cut it out in your mind?

  • @MrPainfulTruth well said!

  • @MrPainfulTruth

I think he wants to get people to come to his gyms, so he can make money, and put food on the table for his family. If he looks good it makes his gyms more attractive and thus more money for his family. All that mcdojo talk you got about "end fighting, to create peace, inner and outer balance" is a bunch of ninja movie hooey. Martial Arts was always about kicking butt in war, taking the money and feeding your family. He is a business - get real...

  • @rufus566 I respect your opinion and experience, however mine is different. Having been at china to study martial arts for a luxurious period of time i learned that actually inner balance and contentment is more the core of those arts the the actual process of beating an opponent. Brought to perfection, the whole "fighting" aspect gets eradicated and the idea is still the same (see tea ceremony).

  • @MrPainfulTruth Martial Arts is completely different from the fighting you're talking about and the fighting that Eastern countries try to "end". Martial arts isn't for harming or causing threats to people. Fighting like this, is pretty much peace. If people were fighting like this, and there wasn't war between countries where they use weapons and cause deaths with mass destruction, don't you think this world would be a much better place?

  • @EnIgMoZz2 i think you are right and wrong about martial arts. marial arts are designed to kill. that is there original purpose. dont beautify the arts. that is like calling sharks gold fish.

however, to be a killer, you need to master yourself and lose doubts. in that process, you have control over yourself. then, you find the reason for not killing.

  • Que desprolijo y que mal pelean. Bad fight !!

  • @ElTeclaCF You don't have idea of what ur talking about.

  • @sonycrx1 this is a fight with little control and little defense. Is it because these two martial arts do not like me.

  • all of the martial art came from the hell.....moron

  • @deedatizza deedatizza

  • Very good. Beautiful control and excellent sportsmanship after the match. Loved it!

  • Why THE FUCK compare kung fu vs karate??? Karate originated from kung fu, just like taekwondo, etc etc

  • @xSilkify then every single martial art in this world comes from China? if you think that's real then you are stupid as FUCK., I'm sorry but that's true.

  • @024101622 No, EVERY EASTERN MARTIAL ART ORIGINATED FROM KUNG FU, -.- dude go study history or someshit, then comment back -_-

  • @xSilkify Kalari payat? ;-)

  • @nairolfxii1 Well thats a exeption

  • @xSilkify Karate came from Okinawa, Kung-fu came from China. If you don't know your facts, then don't talk about it. GTFO idiot.

  • @In7enseCA Cool.

  • @xSilkify Thanks.

  • @In7enseCA c:

  • @In7enseCA

Karate is the original Okinawan martial art Te after being influenced by Chinese martial artists, in a nutshell. It isn't wrong to say that Karate originated from Chinese Kung Fu.

  • @xSilkify So Mongolian Wrestling came from China too?

  • Comment removed

  • @xSilkify Wasn't being sarcastic, just making a point. If you were referring to certain Japanese, Korean and Indo-chinese arts like bokator and pradal serey, then yes, they have roots in China. But you need to be very specific, otherwise people will keep calling you on wrong information.

  • @deek77 Thats what i meant, but people toke it a bit far

  • Bad demonstration, of cause one of the most famous kung fu masters but something like this u find at every corner. Maybe a political background

  • that looked more luike taekwondo

  • Ehsan Shafiq one of the best fighters in the world vs karate fighter (not even pro) omg

  • The level was really awfull in those day xD

  • ehsan shafiq is really good. damn its interestin to c him fight and study him ima martial artist and i have some sparring vids i hope u guys check me out im pretty sure ull like it please no hating thanks.

  • @JdawgWithNinjutsu I agree with some of your sentences. No martial arts are superior to others : some are better for training relaxation and self control, others are better for fighting with weapons, others (like these two) are more offensive and others (like aïkido) have been made to counter offensive ones (That's why I'm also doing Shotokan Karate). Sorry if my comments could have been missinterpreted, but by not equivalent, I was meaning like...different? Ex: kung fu beat unarmed fence master

  • hes freakin Ehsan Shfiq he is a master of kung fu, this guy is wasome is he still alive

  • he would lose to any to any fighter thats uses grapple or ground grapple. Good fighter but careless on whats going to happen.

  • this Afghanian is great! his only weaknes - is close fight. for example with wrestler... &

  • there is no kung fu fighters

  • i really love his kung fu kicks but his opponent is really useless on technique. at 0:50 he attempts to attack with such a high kick you would think he was in a demostration fight. HE is throwing kicks all over the place and not keeping his composure. like he is trying to copy the kung fu guys fighting style and failing.

  • So much BS comments on the web. Anyway, thot I was going to see another this vs that which is never this style vs that style. It's always this stylist kickboxing against this other stylist who is kickboxing too. Most martial artists cannot fight with their style. They end up kickboxing. Surprisingly, this winner can fight with his kung fu which to me looked like old school karate. Nicely it was not kickboxing. Would enjoy seeing other fights he was in. Bravo to Shariq!

  • Euuuuhhhh... Aïkido can fataly punish this! Or maybe their kicks are slower to avoid injuries.

  • @ST4RK1LL3RZ its not about the style, there is not such thing as a style better than the other. and you have to practice something to make such a comment...

  • @ZeMaster86 Ah! Ah! Ah! You are really funny! I have a brown belt (11 years) in aïkido and a green belt in Karate Shotokan. And I often punished those kinds of kick (mae geri...) in Karate with Aïkido techniques. Anyway, you are a fool if you think martial arts styles are all equivalent.

  • @ST4RK1LL3RZ great for you. looks like you have much to learn.

  • @ST4RK1LL3RZ No martial art is superior to others. I am also in a Budo (Not naming names or rank) and do you see me saying that my art beats all others? I have nothing against Karate or Kung Fu, and I also have a book on Aikido by Phong Thong Dang. It depends on who spent more time practicing. And also, I think you should be ashamed for that behavior. A real martial artist is proud, and does not brag about his achievments. You shame your teachers with your arrogance.

  • You are right. I removed my comment.

  • @RevDogo its a simple healthy completion whiny. Go out side and do some workout instead of putting "weak, pointless" arguments on youtube.

  • wow he basically kicks air in all of his videos

  • it's Movember and everybodys angry!

  • Same to the other critics on the post

  • Sesshoumaru888....U are obviously ignorant(;...those in martial arts just dont fight like rednecks......Its hard work,effective,and wont agree with a lazy person...U say it doesnt work in a street fight...Thats where the self defense ties in.....which is just as much offense...there is a sport to it,but the self defense training is made for real life situations.You are simply uneducated on the subject or waay to far misguided...try it out(;

  • Oh god...low guard and off-the knee kicks with both hands down....hahahaha...Points system too...why don't they try a Muay Thai fighter, they'll see the light!!

  • @BlueTitan7 im a thai coach. like i said before.. its not about the style, its about the fighter. by the way, i have already seen this guy fighting a kickb guy. diferent type of competition and diferent fighting style also. he won. remember, the human being is above any established style and his rules.

  • @ZeMaster86 True about the human being, however, there are things that I rate and things that I don't.A low guard for example, sorry but it's useless, anyway you see it. Like your face is flashing "Jackpot".We can talk forever and seperate sports/real life, etc. I have studied Karate, Judo,TaeKwon Do,a bit of Western Boxing and Muay Thai as wel las a bit BJJ and Wing Chun. always take what WORKS.Again a punch from the waist trying to reach the target is slow, weak and telegraphed.

  • @BlueTitan7 true also. so you have to fight with no style.. some people need to raise up their guard, i dont like it, it doesnt fit for me specially having 58kg against someone who has 90kg.. i prefer to dodge or just by being faster. we have also to adapt to the one we are fighting. a fight is not decided by rules its decided by the one who leaves walking. i teach my students to have their guard up but rules have to be broken to achieve more.

  • @ZeMaster86 true, true..when I was typing I could already think of such stuff. We will enter the big difference in between real situations (how do you double cover a punch of a guy 40k heavier, etc..) , in which case I think the best technique is poke in the eye, kick/knee to the groin, the reason all competitions have to take a recovery break. Maybe I am a bit too critical with things because I was taught by many "experts" in my life that we weren't meant to defy. I quickly did ;)

  • They are both karateka

  • I love the skill of this contest

  • lol. there are many fighters and they just show the one in which the kung fu fighter wins. proves nothing. as ip man says... its not the martial art... its the fighter. i mean, the fighting experience, the emotional intelect and the practise.

  • @JTWeldt i think talent also plays a role in there.

  • I think these are practicing karate. The commentator notes the "migari" kick halfway through (not sure about the spelling there) which is used in karate. I do not know other martial arts though so could be wrong.

  • pakistani have the great spirit about martial arts .ahsan shafique is a legendry martial artist.

  • uhm...champion of what? which organization? what weight class?

  • It's funny because they're both using Karate.

  • i thought that karate and kung fu are the same only!!!!!!!

  • lame

  • is it chinese kungfu? i think both do tae-kwon-do korean martial art

  • i'm sorry but this looks extremely gay to me.. im out PZ!

  • @CodFunable hahaaa I totally agree. Chicken "fight"

  • they all karate player !

  • this guy is good!!

  • They both look like Tae Kwon Do guys to me.

  • And the winner of the Giant Kick Contest is: Whoever.

Nice giant cigarette ad on the wall.

  • Love the hug and smile at the end. Respect and friendship for your opponent in an important match. It shows the love they have for their own and their opponent's art and the spirit of martial arts. They seem to have a strange scoring system, which rewards high kicks, though.

  • this is tkd lol

  • These guys suck because they do not actually learn how to fight in the streets. To get a belt, you just pass an "exam" and that's it, which does not actually mean you can fight

  • @Sesshoumaru888: they do not suck, they practice a sport, which has rules for competition and an adequate level of contact for their purpose, and they are good at what they practice.

  • @Sesshoumaru888

No, it means you can defend yourself. Fighting is not always the answer matey, a solid kick in the nuts and I am quite sure you can get away even by walking.

  • These guys suck like TardRepellent.

  • Wow these guys r pretty bad

  • Indians don't shit bout karate

  • as i know because im chinese only the real chinese masters know kungfu and only those who learn from real masters know kung fu and these people obviously don't know a shit

  • Neither of them showed much intelligence. Don't they understand that hands are faster than feet, and also they need to understand distance better as well.

  • this is more like dancing than fighting

  • @no1diamondgeezer Then you obviously don't know anything about martial arts. Ever heard of the story about 13 monks (in real life, 28) who defeated an army of 700 soldiers? They were martial arts masters. Get it?

  • @Xinyuan12345 no i dont know about martial arts, my comment was more of a joke than a obsavation. I do respect them as bruce lee is a hero of mine even though I didn't follow his trade.

  • @no1diamondgeezer Oh ok I see. But show a little more respect to these guys, they're both really good fighters lol

  • Ehsan Shafiq, what a brilliant kung fu fighter

  • Superb

  • Al Queda training camp

  • there are no kung fu in this video you fool just a karate fight

  • @AjdinLee .. lol .. actually all those high fancy kicks are a trade mark of kung fu ... karate doesn't tend to have too much of that. the guy who is throwing all the fancy kicks is utilizing the kung fu

  • @DeportedAllan yeah but it is immportant of wich style of kung fu are you saying i mean all this moves karate has and kung fu but not all the styles are the same

  • too many replays.

  • i like kung fu over karate no offense just kung fu is older more complex and i love the way they zapp around

  • clearly what has this got to do with kungfu?

  • Comment removed

  • it seems to be taekwondo

  • I think this is taekwondo...

  • @03205211235 no shit dumbass lmfao.. you obviously didnt get the point from my first 2 comments.. lol get you're facts checked :D

  • @03205211235 it's like telling a racist to call a nigger an african american XD its not like i really fucking care. LMFAO! freakin idiot man..

  • This guy would get owned in the states.

  • @E139486 pffft.

  • It pisses me off when people dont know wtf their talking about and just give it a randomass title...

  • shafiq is my man!!

  • both guys do karate!! another fake =(

  • Ehsan is very good, maybe, the best to some people, but this karate boy isn't in his lvl. o,O.He must test with the best of karate i think

  • the tall guy is a GAY !!!

  • He has not yet fight the best. One can beat him easily by the way he fought this dude. This dude may be a black belt but lack of fighting skill.

  • beardo owns mustache.

  • i confused

  • Guy on the right at the start is kung fu i think...

  • it looks more like tae kwon do to me

  • looks nothing like kung fu movies

  • Pure garbage!

  • shit, all that room inside there coats for bombs.....

  • How ironic that they would actually have cigarette ads on the wall of an athletic competition room

  • mah jeh ma BITCHH!! *PUNCH!!!!*

  • It's prince, didn't know he did karate

  • Fuck pakis, shafs is the man

  • whats with all this motion, its too telegraphic in the real world you would fucking kick that high, they would grab your leg and rape you.

  • dude sorry but we cant call that a karate fighter... if you want to see real karate masters go see lyoto machida chinzo machida and Antonio Carvalho now you'll be talking about real karate but not that....

  • @MrTimeDestroy this is karate not mixed martial arts. these are different and they have different rules and styles etc.

  • @CoreyHuck I know but those 3 are not only in the MMA they did a lot of karate champion ship.

  • Es mi idolo¡¡

  • Is he Alive ??????/

  • NONE OF THESE FOOLS CAN PUNCH 2 THE HEAD!!!! ITS NOT ALLOWED!!!!!!! dumbbbbbb

  • this is a really big SHIT!!!

  • I may not be the best fighter

I may be fat and unsuspecting

But I am inspired to keep trying

And I like pancakes.. What about you?

  • @narred98 WAFFLES BITCH!!!!!

  • That is the martial art of choice the CIA is training Al-Qaeda with. lmao

  • i'm no expert, but, why do they kick in the air like that without hitting the other guy? someone try to kick me like that, so committed, and they missed, one dead mo fo.

  • @neils68 I think its just only standing fighting allowed. Moslt likely points based, but I'm no expert so who knows?

That kick at 1:23 seems pretty fierce though. OUCH!

  • I these are both Karate fighters.

  • no Kung Fu in this video!

  • @SinFeind yes it is
