honestly, I don't dig the new mustang styling. nor I can see myself spending 80k for a well modified and fast stang. I really love the 2001 style, especially with cobra-r body kit, or the 1969 with Eleanor body kit.... the new one, especially the new 2010 one, I just can't see myself driving it. I rather have 370Z, better and more up-to-date technology. Man, a 370Z with a V8 would rock!
....
Now, if ford would stick a V10 into it and make it handle then I might change my mind.
ok i changed the title. thank all of you for putting i the time to discover that the near lane was not a supersnake; the announcer was indeed incorrect.
if u watch in high def and pause at 6 seconds, right when the they are passing the camera, u can see the cobra emblem, but no bar crossing it. the bar has "super snake" written on it. sarcomabuster is right. heavily modded gt500 and very impressive, but not a supersnake. i'd still take it though :D
Yes I own a supersnake. the striping scheme on supersnakes is flat black with one wide stripe down the middle and two smaller stripes on either side. The high HP supersnakes are 725HP and would run low 11's at about 130MPH ET. These are highly modded GT500's...Nice cars though!
the car in the far lane is a highly modified GT500. the car in the close lane was indeed a supersnake. he probably requested to have the paint untouched when he shipped it out to be "supersnaked". and if you take a close look he has a set of full out drag slicks on the back of that thing. those matched with over 700hp (from the kenne bell supersnake kit) have the capabilities to break the 10 second barrier.
the announcer also mentioned that it was a race between a GT500 and a supersnake.
Announcer was given bad information. you cannot purchase a supersnake package and leave the stock stripes on. I know many who have tried. SAI will not allow. also this car has no front brake ducts, side scoops, both of which come with SS package. The car weighs 4100 Lb with driver. it has 725HP at crank but more like 630 at the rear wheel. A 4100# car with 630RWHP will not run a 10.1 even with slicks. this is not a SS. did i mention that I own one and would know?
Hm. i cant really say much because you're right and at the same time was there and heard what he was saying/saw the car. at the same time i think it would be foolish of a GT500 owner to buy a supersnake hood and rims (even if it could take a real supersnake to school).
anyways your car must be a hell of a car. get some videos up.
i know people who own 2005+ mustang gts that cant run better than a 14.3, that doesnt mean it cant. 725hp supersnakes hit high tens to low 11s, they are known to be tricky to master launchwise as they spin almost every gear at the track. When a car spins the whole track, slicks can drop ET near a second.
sure. there are mustang GT's that run 7's... it depends on how much you modify. What I am saying is that this is not a supersnake. This guy has a highly modded GT500 putting about 750HP to the ground (more like 900 at crank) to get these times. no 725 HP supersnake, at 4100#, with 630RWHP, with slicks can run this time. I don't care if God himself were driving.
Great video man!
