@lmsjr everything else does look like a strat or LP. I love their designs because they are a fusion of art and innovation. Most wildly shaped guitars are all looks and no go. The design of this guitar is a product of engineering more than a drawing come to life. Personally, the super custom Medusa is the finest playing and sounding guitar I've played and I really have played a lot of guitars. My Am. Ash Tele and 65 SG both sit in the closet collecting dust.

yes you can plug any head into any cab

Yes, just pay attention to the Ohms. Always try to match the Ohm output of the cab with the ohm output of the head. They are clearly displayed on the back of each. If you can not get a match then make sure the higher ohm # is on the cab. You should do just fine!!

you can put any brands with any brands just keep the wattage on the cab the same or higher

No, you can't plug any head into any cab, you will blow it up unless it is the same output as the head. So if you have a 100watt head going into a 10watt cabinet it will explode.

in theory yes, but you have to make sure that the ohms match up. so it will say e.g. 4, 8 or 16. You have to use the right output from the head to the one that matches on the cabinet. Otherwise you could blow something up!

A mis-match isn't desireable, but not deadly.

It depends ON the TYPE of mismatch done.

High imp amp into LO imp speaker = DEATH! OP transformer sees more power so tries to deliver it, cooking itself in the process.

However, Lo imp amp into HI imp speaker = quiet operation, less power output, OP transformer works less, saves tubes etc. This is OK if u want a quieter setup.

Remember Low into High =OK, High into Low = DEATH!

its insulting to me to play a medusa threw a line 6....also you can get them for 850 to 1100...this is the burgandy deluxe model for 1100....claudios is a custom for about 4000...i have the black studio medusa.....amazing guitar. I run it threw a bogner alchemist and i promise the tone is far better then this line 6 demo...im not making fun of you guy, you have a orgy of sexy amps, just upset you choose that one to display a work of art

the only thing that is keeping me from getting the Spider Valve head is that you can't control the mix between the dry signal and the wet signal... those effects are just waaay too 'in your face'. Effects should enhance the tone, not obliterate it. Like they are, they're useless to me...

I believe Minarik goes back to the design of the Warlock. I hope that puts some perspective on how Medusas have evolved. The import model is nice, but the customs are tremendous sounding, playing and looking guitars. I would never run a Minarik through a Line 6, but that's just me. Minarik and Mesa Boogie makes a stunning sound I can live with. The Medusa has a huge tone and tremendous definition that you don't hear here. Tubes tell a clearer story.

Damn that is one hell of a cool shaped guitar. I liked the song too. Hearing the line 6 spider valve makes me wonder what a newer line 6 preamp coupled with a high quality tube poweramp would sound like. What I've found strange is that the preamp section in the spider valve is basically a super old pod, with one hell of a sweet power amp. Then the line 6 hd147 has the preamp section like one of the newer pods, but a crappy solid state power amp section. If only they'd combine the two...
