Isn't there one part where he is in trailer being towed by a truck and some girl is hurt and he heals her with his balls..... Wow that came out wrong.

Epic Movie! One of Jeff Bridge's finest performance in my opinion.

John Carpenter creates a classic 80's Sc-fi fantasy well worth watching and never get tired of seeing.

I went to the crater in this movie the year before the movie came out and let me tell you to see it in person is unbelievable, tv screen does not do justice and also stopped in the store at the end before they go to the crater scene and the store is just like it is in the movie.

one thing that was unrealistic about the movie was the voyager 2 prob thing. it said out reaches of the univers. err voyager 2 hasant even reached the closest stars yet and its almost 2010 now. it just reached the outer bowshock of our systems star which is a long ways but a far cry from the outer universe. guess they had to say something for the story line lol.

No, it's not as much action as a Die Hard type of movie, but it was never meant to be that.

It's a sweet & innocent comedy about an alien learning about life & love here on Earth. The action & romance are fit to that theme. I think the romance is one of the sweetest kind's there is; since it isn't based entirely on sex appeal, like most of today's films are. It's sincere & beautiful.

It only had 1 season; which was a great shame cuz Robert Hays & CB Barnes performances as Starman & his son were perfection! It got the Family Guy treatment..moved around to diff time slots so, unless u followed it around, u couldn't really become a regular watcher. I was in the group that wrote to get it back, but the network just ignored us. If u look at my other video, u can see that even today -20 years later!- people still love it! ^_^

I think the TV series did a wonderful job as a sequel! It's just a shame that they canceled it so quickly. The wonderful message of a decent father/son relationship was inspiring & endearing. U just don't see it in today's shows anymore. One of my fav movies & TV shows! ^_^

Starman is just so emotionally enthralling that any remake would be a sin.  The Movie stands alone on it own, however a posthumous sequel of the Visitor and Jenny Hayden offspring might work well. Karen Allen can holdoff on her sweaters and scarves, works of art for awhile, and make another hit. Make everybody happy

That was a magical scene - I watched the whole film on video on Sunday and blubbed most of the way through it. JennyHagan called the hunter a bozo - I could think of a lot worse and truer words than that. That was a wonderful scene (if only real life could be like that) from a wonderful film.

Jeff discussed it with Karen. I sent script myself back in 98 to Neil, his manager. No reply, ever!! Shame. Even on the dvd commentary he Jeff and carpenter talk about coming back for more. I'd love to see feature sequel.
