  • you don't have the slightest idea about vipassana meditation ... very misleading title Madam

  • whats the meaning of vipassna? Is for increasing memory power?

  • @khasaleneha vipassana, I believe means to "see things as they really are".

  • Vipassana Meditation is a brilliant tool to purify of the mind......

  • oh u realy make me feel good thank you

  • What a lovely way to introduce vipassana! Well done.

  • Thank you for helping me see my desire.

  • but keeping into consideration of peoples' convenience vipassana teacher Ubakim made the course short for 10 days and he also said that the course cannot be made shorter than this , if we make further short , Student cannot benifit much in shorter periods .

  • Kavita ..From whenyou are doing vipassana ? How many courses you have attended in vipassana centers ?Are you the teacher of Vipassana ?How much experience you have in vipassana teaching ? you can give the vipassana instructions in few minutes but the new student cannot understand it , it is actually 40 days course to learn it.

  • I'd rub those feet all night.

  • valid information, but you dont need to name things as "vipassana" technique etc. Meditation is art of letting thoughts go away and centering to self. External knowledge , or information can block you from yourself in this process. Just relax, and by knowing that you are doing, co- create your reality, listen to your higher self. be a silent observer. That's all you need to know.

  • i am very much like this documentary i am glad to to know the deep meaning of Buddhism so i thank Kavitha teaching the concept of meditation. ... take care may the triple gem bless you all the time....

  • I practise vipassana over twoand half years it makes me very happy and openminding for every moment day by day

  • I tried doing this I just cant do it.

  • @axxymax it will come to you, bro. the meditative state usually occurs out of spontaneity; it cant be forced.

  • just watching this make me tense

maybe its jus me, idk. i feel like i was born with the natural ability to meditate?? lol.. wat do u do wen ur in class bored? ur inside ur head.

this vid here is simply telling you to jus watch wat u think about w.o being attached?? i can jus blankly stare off at nothing for long ass periods of time. its jus annoying cause its like ur sitting wasting ur time, and ur watching urself doit lol. go do a puzzle lol. pffft

  • You are a serene and lovely lady. I have been 'trying' beginners meditation and it's going well, surprisingly enough! Only at it last ten days. One question: i'm HOOKED on sitting with crossed legs as i feel this is 'the way'. I do feel more at ease on a chair. Will it be more beneficial to be on floor... as i see SO many mediators in this position. Thank you and peace.

  • my gosh. vipassana is actually 'insight' meditation and only taught by Buddhism. this is just the common and basic way of meditation or 'shamatha'. inappropriate title. pls up this to educate the masses of people before they become misled.

  • @aloozer There are people like you in every aspect of life. Fart sniffers

    Good luck with your oneness

  • @aloozer It's also a name of a meditation from India and this is their version of it.

  • It's Good. I'm going to follow the method this girl teaches, I guess it doesn't matter if you are from India or any other country, this doesn't make you wiser. Besides, Where sensation and thoughts begin or get separated? I have no experience on this, but her method and theory convinced me. If I would have to choose between this or a weird form of meditation with strange sounds and rituals that just freaks me, I would choose this. I prefer things to be simple.

  • nice

  • Striking a musical note on the drums and rollin' down the river to select a cat

  • Dear Lady,

I am from India, I have attended the 10 day course as taught by SN Goenka guruji at the center. Please do not deprive your self the 10 day course yourself. You will do a great deal to the society and self, please do stop this site from taking people away from the real technique God bless you and yours

  • @emraldalex How much are these courses and where are they held?

  • I thought the whole purpose of buddhist is to get rid of ignorance, anger, and to replace it with compassion and love which seems to be have forgotten threw the comments of judgement and not helping our fellow brothers and sister see there is a better way

  • Dear Lady,

You should not in any case propaganda this technique of yours. Vipassana has nothing to do with your thoughts it has to do with your sensations. Please, refrain from teaching this to people and confusing the audience. You should yourself start by attending a 10-day beginners course first to learn a little bit about Vipassana.

  • @JahongirDanteThe don't be too harsh on her... many paths lead to the same destination

  • The 10 day courses are only the teaching of the beginning / preliminary stages of Vipassana meditation according to S.N. Goenka. With development of the "sensations" technique you will go beyond and begin to observe the mind in action, thoughts, feelings, rising and falling away. There are many different stages. Observing "sensations" is only the beginning. I say this after 15 years of meditation and my own experiences. Thanks you. Go beyond the obvious.

  • @dickdona after 15 years, what has it brought u? why observe the mind? why is thiis way 'better' than jus sitting and doing nothing? u c wat im sayin?

  • @butthead6886 Observing the mind brings you understanding of yourself, your tendencies, traits, etc. By doing so it allows you to be more spontaneous and real, true to your real nature. Not pushed and pulled by your hopes and fears, dreams and impressions. But you have to practice it to find out. You can't play the violin, or learn any skill, in a few seconds, you have to practice. As it's impossible to "do nothing", you may as well be aware of what and why you are doing anything.

  • @dickdona yeaaa idk. a good mushroom trip will teach you everything about yourself lol. idk i jus cant get myself to sit down and meditate anymore. few years ago i could actually physically feeel the 'energy'? idk how to describe it but it was pretty cool. and then it jus got boring, idk. i could put in 20minutes a day to feel 'pretty cool'... orr i can stay up alil xtra longer and havea beaautiful nice sleep for as long as iwish. =P

after 15 years, waht do you have to show for it? motivate me!

  • @butthead6886 During your meditation when you got bored... that was the time to really observe your boredom and see what it was doing to you. The purpose of the meditation is to observe yourself. U ask what have I got after 15 years. Much calmer, peaceful and more tolerant of my fellow human beings. Clearer in mind and I certainly don't need any stimulants, such as mushrooms, alcohol or any drugs to have a "good" time. Over and out.

  • @dickdona i think i over extended my 'good times so much so that regular everyday life is a bore. i enjoy life much more smokin bud everyday =\

  • @dickdona Hi, your comment is very interesting. Could you, please, explain or give us a link to the other stages? Thanks!

  • her voice is soothing and sure.

  • Yo creo que debes estudiar y practicar mas, antes de ponerte a hacer videos de Vipassana. lo cual es evidente que no sabes que es.

  • I've practiced Vipassana meditation since the '70s. What she is saying is spot on!

  • Vedana (sensation) because The Buddha's discovery "sabbe dhamma vedana samosarana=every content of mind flows on body in form of sensation (vedana). Observing the sensation leads to the experiential knowledge of anicca (impermanent) nature of self and finally the world. Paticcasamuppada= In the law of dependent origination, Buddha's other discovery "vedana paccaya tanha=origine of craving is from Vedana.

  • The Buddha taught four foundations of mindfulness which are set out in a progressive order and serve as foundations to discover liberation:

    mindfulness of body

    mindfulness of feelings

    mindfulness of mind

    mindfulness of Dharmas

Goenka emphasis on mindfulness of feelings. She emphasis on mindfulness of mind. They both are correct. Its your preference.

  • you are a beautiful, kind woman, but i'm sorry this is not the actual vipassana meditation method, if you want to really learn this practice, please go to a 10 day free vipassana meditation retreat. this should not be the main video for vipasanna because this is not even close to the science and method of the correct practice, her other videos are probably wonderful, but i've been to about 8 retreats and we focus on the observation of SENSATION, we do not acknowledge thought let alone observe it

  • dont read too much ti makes you lifeless.she is joke complitly and fully.its betterto go out and drink cup of strong tea and read newspapers then to became lifless and call this thing meditation.she dosent shine she is scholar type of dry person.

  • @supralee Oh dear...

  • @SpicyDonuts name me wolf i will eat all those lifeless meditation teachers:)

  • @supralee Ignorant

  • @SpicyDonuts at least i am natural :)and u are too shy even to have conversation

  • @supralee You are not natural, your mind has been poisoned by society. And I choose not to converse with people as ignorant and close minded as you. If you wish to live your life that way so be it.

  • @SpicyDonuts if u choose it means you dont have much life in u.i never choose.:)

  • @supralee That doesn't make much sense. This is why I didn't want to converse with you....

  • I want her to speak to me about this while pouring champaign down her leg and feeding me it from her dripping foot.

  • this meditation is really awesome.

  • I will try this..thank u very much :)

  • Thank you a very helpful video of understanding what vipassana meditation is. What can I do if the same thought keeps coming back even after letting it go?

  • @htamnerd It needs to run its course. You must allow it to do so....If you continue to practise daily you will see that all that begins will ALWAYS end....

  • Thank you so much. I'm learning how to observe my thoughts and emotions and this was just in time. Namaste.

  • Thank you so much. I'm learning how to observe my thoughts and emotions and this was just in time. Namaste.

  • she is realy good....one of the best in YT

  • Hi, so nice, calm and clear voice..which is exactly need for vipassana meditation instruction. however, you r from yoga tradition and doing vipassana, its not usual. hence, i highly appreciate your Interest in vipassana meditation. with regards..Sam

  • good work.

  • Calm nice video. Vipassana is a good meditation practices. The detached state is so blissfull and pure. Much love. Thank you.

  • I play music constantly in my head and when im not doing that I am thinking or talking really REALLY fast in my head and even if I try to just acknowledge them and than let them go they just keep on going throughout my head

I don't have add or ADHD or anything like that I can focus on things really good but at the same time I will be thinking or doing something else

I can meditate for six hours straight and the whole time I will be thinking to myself

    any suggestions???

  • @WTFGiordan It's ok! Everyone thinks. Just let your thoughts be. Note them, acknowledge them and let them be. Thoughts will arise and die down like everything else in life. :)

  • @WTFGiordan Concentrate on your breath....

  • ^__^

  • very helpful, thank you

  • Zeitgeistmovie..com

  • I think you lean your neck ahead of you a little too much

  • Actually shes kind of high on her self, if you want a relaxing voice check Lita and her massage videos!

  • remove this comment. This woman is a professional

  • Excellent.Thank you very much.

  • just smoke some marijuana xD

  • @slutypet nah because you are using an herb for meditation, when you can do it without the plant. the herb just helps you, the true meditation can only come from within

  • @Getdamoneyng0 great answer! i think that too.. in fact you can get higher without drugs than with them but it takes a lot of practice. i experienced moments of silence and bliss when i was practicing osho techniques some months ago. But the moments where hard to get there. It takes pacience and practice. I like weed once in a while and i do some hallucinogens (you can learn a lot with hallucinogens) but i totally know the bliss and joy meditation can provide.

  • @Getdamoneyng0 salvia is great for spiritual understanding too. not adictive at all, you can search about it, you will find no negative consequences. But no drug can provide the bliss of meditation. Peace and love are withing the meditator

  • @Getdamoneyng0 by the way... my comment "just smoke some marijuana xD" was just a joke xD ... I know from experience that marijuana doesn't get you high like meditation

  • @slutypet yea yea i feel you. i smoke weed too. it helps me relax from this world, with all the negativity and bullshit that be happening. feel me?

  • @Getdamoneyng0 yes ^^

  • why not do them both?

  • @dumimic yeah :P

  • wow its good to be a hindu . if u are a hindu you can be a meditation advisor at least or go to america and be a professor hehehe

  • THAI VIPASANA OF BODY MOVEMENT MEDITATION IS BETTER THAN SITTING AND DAY DREAMING YOU MIND WILL WONDERING.

    YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIT.

ONE THING IS DON'T KEEP YOU EYES CLOSED, JUST DO AS OPEN, SO THAT YOU WILL DEAL WITH LIVE AS DAILY LIVING YOU CAN AS IT GOES, BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU MUST BRING YOUR MIND BACK TO YOUR HOME(AS YOUR BODY OK) THERE IS MORE JUST GO TO SEE IN YOU TUBE @

lOUNG POR TEEN SO YOU WILL LEARN A LOT FROM LEADING MADITATION OF THE LASTED MEDITATION METHOD. GOOD LUCK!

  • Nice.

  • you explain it so well i like you im going thailand soon to pratice thanks for you videos

  • What is the difference between Vipassana and Zazen, in terms of practicing and purposes? Thanks for any answer :)

  • @PhucNguyen0112 don't know about zazen. there're basically 2 kinds of meditation that Lord Buddha taught. 1st is shamatha(concentration) in the form of sitting or even walking meditation. 2nd is vipassana or insight meditation.

  • @sKewbrain YOU FIND THIS SATANIC? I'm not a yogee and I live in West world. Lol, it's such ironic you were satan-struck by a lady practising yoga!

  • @edonatasa evidently, you don't understand why I say that, so just forget it.

  • Excellent. Love this.

  • Very nice

  • Fajna dupa.

  • Hi there, I have just attended the 10 day Vipassana Course (Goenka) who says that you only need to observe the SENSATIONS you feel throughout your body - NOT your thoughts or desires. For whoever is interested in this technique, you should really attend one of his 10 day courses. This is so important if you want to get the technique right. I cant underline this enough.

  • @PollyOnUTube don't just trust what he says...think for yourself..question him..question his techniques, question his method.

  • @PollyOnUTube No thanks this is fine.I guess I should at the very least see what your talking about.Nameste

  • @PollyOnUTube right on

  • @PollyOnUTube

  • very soothing....

  • great video

  • nieźle gada-najlepszy stan

  • "one of the purest forms of meditation"

That's a pretty funny thing to say when you think about it !

  • im having some very impure thoughts watching her

  • Brilliant!

  • If you were dressed up and giving a speech on something important, and ppl kept saying, "oh, your sexy", it would be very disrespectful to you. It is really rude and not a compliment. Its no fun to try to teach things when you know they are just viewing you as a piece of meat.

  • @MsHolmar completely agree with you...........the practice of nirvana or total silence...requires controlling your mind ....guys if you dont have peace in your mind you cant never achieve the essence of it. Actually I also have practiced pranic healing..or qigong n i am surprised to see that I can heal sprains and swellings and muscular fatigues...........so please those of u think this is fun .....please try this with....sincerity

  • @MsHolmar Dear Ms. I don't think there is any disrespect intended. And saying that someone is sexy is hardly the same thing as seeing them as a piece of meat.

And I don't think this woman would be at all offended either. She would most likely laugh. I am just guessing. Maybe you should lighten up. Not everybody is a knuckle-dragging misogynist.

  • meditation is so helpful...i wrestle and lift like crazy, and am a huge fitness freak..id recommend meditation to anybody who wants to be healthy

    cheer's

  • The NATURE of the thoughts is the essence of vipassana meditation, not letting them go. That's shamatha meditation. Vipassana doesn't just observe them but observes their nature. I didn't see you illuminate this critical aspect of vipassana meditation - how they arise, how they abide, how they disappear - their emptiness.

  • Thank you very much for you vid.

  • See link for details and locations. link --> U Bah Kin, Goenka, 10-day course, Vipassana. all awesome. I've done the course 3 times now. Every time has been a new experience and created a new and wiser way of understanding.

Everyone must try. remember when trying the 10-day for the first time - the harder and more properly you work-the greater the results.

    link --> dhamma (DOT) org

  • ...Ohhh Yes ...Vipassana :))...

  • I am a Vipassana student and have attended a 10 day course. This is actually NOT Vipassana as you shouldn't be held up by thoughts to practice Vipassana.

First focus the mind (bring it away from thoughts) using anapana meditation, THEN if you are sure to have a sharp and clear mind you can start practicing Vipassana. And Vipassana doesn't observe random thoughts coming up, you focus on sensations. This is a lot more difficult to explain.

This video really shouldn't claim to explain Vipassana!

  • @knoblauchtv hey bottlenose, you obviously attended a Burmeese body-scanning style Goenka-esk retreat. Good technique, no arguments from me, but for you to say anything other than that specific technique is "not vipassana" that is pretty shallow of you. You should look at the diverse history of the entire vipassana tradition before you make sweeping statements like that.

  • @dharmasack Yeah, so this is another approach. It would help if yogayak would specify which one it is. I know the one as taught by S. N. Goenka today, including Satipatthāna-Sutta, all in the tradition of U Ba Khin and it can only be taught properly in a course.

  • @knoblauchtv Yeah dude, it's tough to say what she's talkin about especially since I didn't watch the vid, but certainly some varieties of Vipassana do incorporate watching random experience come and go rather than focusing on a particular area of the body.

Most famously the noting technique brought to the west by students of Mahasi Sayadaw. It's all good though, go with whatever works for you. As far as I am concerned if it involves the cultivation of insight it's vipassana. -Peace out!

  • What kind of benefits did you get by doing this?

  • @inder19852000 You train your mind to become sharp and attentive. It takes quite some time, but you get calm and balanced in pretty much all aspects of life. You don't overreact to uncomfortable situations or events anymore. If you had habit patterns like running away from problems rather than facing them, you overcome those patterns and learn to deal with such things.

There's far more going on. I suggest you search "dhamma" and "vipassana" and visit the international website for more info ...

  • Thanks for the answer.Although I am an Indian,I have never done these kind of meditation

  • @inder19852000 It was forgotten in India for a long time, so we were told in the course. S. N. Goenka brought it from Burma to India, where it was originally tought by Siddharta Gautama. There's a lot of possibilities in Germany to learn Vipassana in a dedicated centre.

It is difficult to learn and takes a lot of discipline, but it's absolutely worth it. The minimum is a 10 day course.

  • As I am coloured,I dont trust myself to go to this centre in Sachsen.I dont wanna be a bait for Neo-Nazis out there.I wish I would find a course in West Germany

  • @inder19852000 I don't know what it is like in Sachsen, but I can't imagine any problem with racism at such a course. This may sound silly or naive, but I strongly doubt that any Nazi is ready to attend such a 10day course!

Racism is out of question. We had an Indian teacher at the centre in Austria and some students from Czech Republic, Poland and England. There wasn't a trace of such tendencies.

You should try it, I'm positive you won't find people with such an attitude at vipassana.

  • Sachsen is not a safe place for coloured foreigners.I think,I will attend the course in some other place

  • Short, but it has the principles

  • No disrespect, but to me this kind of meditation that you are teaching sounds more like shamatha. Vipassana is insight meditation and shamatha is peacefull abiding. Insight in the nature of the mind is done I beleive through shamatha vipassana, but from my own personal experience, unless shamatha is developed passed a certain point shamatha vipassana is fruitless though individually they bear fruit.

  • just by hearing your voice i am so relax... u have a really relaxing voice i like it :)
