@12FlyMe I'm sure you would be shocked to learn that local governments currently pay payroll taxes to the federal and state governments when they hire employees. The federal government also pays payroll taxes to itself when it hires federal workers. This is nothing new, it just keeps the accounting honest.

Fairtax is a huge hoax -- nonsense, utter nonsense. It's own leaders know its nonsense, they aren't really trying to pass it.
Fairtax fine print has MASSIVE new hidden taxes on cities and states. Fairtax isn't about to try to sell that shit to Congress -- hell, they hide it in their fine print BECAUSE its bullshit.
Yes our tax code sucks -- but fairtax is pure bullshit. You cant make the government pay itself 2 trillion in taxes -- and count that as income, like Fairtax pretends it can.

What is the difference between you buying yourself a loaf of bread and your state buying one for you? Besides the fact that you pay the government to buy the loaf of bread, nothing. You consume it either way, and both you and the state currently pay the embedded cost of income capital gain, corporate income and other taxes.
Exempting government consumption will cause every one to ask the government to give them everything.
