i had a universal rundle toilet that used to run constantly. it was a "Self Flusher" but one day it plugged up while i was not looking. man did it run all over the floor. a real bad flood. my UNIVERSAL RUNDLE was taken out and replaced by a brand new AMERICAN STANDARD ENLOGATED toilet to accomodite a bigger bottom then back in the day...
I think you have the tank fill level too high. The bowl fills too much after the flapper closes, and the excess water in the bowl is greater than the volume of water in the trap. So, it cycles a second time. Note that the second cycle does not include the tank refilling.

Omg I didn't know your cats name is Callie...idk if thats how you spell it but I had a calico and her name was Callie too...I miss her cause my mom sadly accidentaly hit her...::tear:: sorry bad memory...now I like your can even more now she is sooo cute....mine only flushes once though!

Hey if you have a low flow toliet and you have a standard toilet style flapper inside it will double flush. We had that issue when I lived in my old apt. No real harm done, so we just let it flush twice.
Weirdest thing that happened when I flushed, well it overflowed, snaking didn't work, so we had to take the toliet off the floor and my daughter had flushed a plastic jello cup down it! Jello was still inside it since it was sealed, but we didn't eat it. :-)

You toilet is An American Standard Cadet 2"
But probally 1998-2001 because in 2001 the tank was also changed.
