Das wurde in Neunkirchen am Brand aufgezeichnet und ich war dabei, damals in der Hämmerleinhalle. Ein saugeiles Konzert. Nach wie vor eines der besten Gitarrensoli überhaupt.
Thanks HVRobot by convert and post "Sheik Yerbouti". By the way, I didn't found "Rat Tomago", an instrumental song as "The S.Y.Tango". Man, going to the obvious, Zappa really rocked on this album... none of the songs is dispensable. Tks again
Brilliant mix although Frank admitted there was tons of over dubs on this version from the Hammersmith Odeon. Thanks for posting. By the way .................. 4.04 gives me chills!!!!!!!
Franky has made the Jazz standard books as well. I forget which tunes they were, but it took me by surprise. My Jazz professor had a lot of respect for Zappa. Sure he was really weird, but that's what made him funny. Musically speaking, he was usually a genius. What he does with some timings is utterly outrageous! lol! People like Steve Vai played in his band - you gotta know your stuff to play (and have played for) Franky.
This is the last number of this double album and imho the best. I remember I was high as a kite for all the weed I'd been smoking listening to the entire album. The guitar solo is memorable and a welcome relief after all the singing.
Also his sound is so clean and pure... er, too bad the number is cut off before it ends.
@ShadowBasker well at least we lasted long enough to be in the game...what is your idea of a good musician? Kenny Rogers, Justin Beiber, or Boy George.
This song shud be made as an American Anthem....wat a track man,the guitar, drums, bass and the total ensemble...keep jammin frank where ever u are...the magic starts at 2.00 ony zappa cud have done justice to the piece with his guitar
An Awesome song. I always put this on late at night. After a stressed day, so I can dream away in his solo. The guitar solo is so 'pure', I almost can't find this with other guitarists.
Yeah, incredible reharmonization of the song for mega-synth textures. Something so bittersweet about the final chord hanging in the air before the guitar solo. I can't stand the sound of this on CD, though. The high end of the sound spectrum on this section sounds so much more heavenly on the old vinyl.

This is some really cool music. Music that really deserves to be called 'music'. And Mr. Zappa was an awesome guitarist and gifted composer. Thank you for posting. I had the privilige to witness four of his concerts live back in those days... Second to none! Truly priceless....R.I.P.
mars, wolf and bozzio transitioned frank into a more commercial medium. For the better ,in my opinion, although, the Nap,Duke and underwood genre was great too.
THANKS! I actually attended this album tour--people were leaving the theater so fast that I honest-to-God thought the place was on fire. That audience did Frank WRONG! He was brilliant; perfection. Magnificent.
Frank Zappa is a genius , he could play all the kind of music and make us thrillin'

, and his version became sheik yerbouti, and thats fucking epic - one of the greatest albums out there , god of prog/fusion/rock/anything! :D
