@slowtaknow Depends where in Russia you're from. North West Russia then yes.. You might have relatives from Scan countries.. Vikings were everywhere in Europe though.. From the Black Sea to Iberia to Northern Europe and they left their DNA behind. Tell you the Truth, nobody other than maybe the LAPP or SAMII people are pure pure. Germans(depending in what area) have Slavic, Celt, Viking Blood.. Same with English, Dutch, French Etc.. They all mingled with different Groups of people and tribes.

"Russia" comes from "Rus" which was a viking tribe. They made Novgorod and Kiev to important Settlements during the middle ages.

Anyway: "russian vikings" only says, that those are Russians reenacting vikings

real Russians (who didn't mix) from Ural,west-central Russia, are more blond ,more taller, more physically stronger then the Swedish. so i don't know who came to Sweden when the real vikings went down south, but you guys have absolute nothing viking anymore. to play Russian boxer in Rocky they put Swedish actor. I think the History have proove u wrong, It proove that the Russian man is weaker, Since ur people allways lose more soldeirs then ur enemies in wars.

And Russians isnt Vikings, Kievan Rus was founded by Swedish Vikings. That doesnt make ur weak people Vikings, since ur of Slavic heritage, and the Vikings used to trade ur sorry asses in Byzantium and middleEast.

@RussianBoxer84 have you heard of "varangians" yeah, they were SWEDISH. we were a sucessfull swedish tribe which merchanted and raided whole europe, including persia, iraq, tunisia, marocco. infact, we were so successfull, we were invited to become (at that time) the byzantine emperor's personal guards. or more like "varangian guard". we settled in russia and founded your country. oh and are there any runestones in russia? and varangian runestones are only in sweden, along with 2500 others.

Sure, everyone knows...but noone would enjoy fighting with axe/spear and some hardener cloth or leather armor..and they would probably wouldnt have helmets, so it would be historical, but they wouldnt be safe...you know, without all that armor, and btw, people watching the show think, that viking hemlets had horns, so fack that averybody has sword doesnt mean anything to them ;)

Didn't you read the title? They are RUSSIAN Vikings. And there is no doubt about it. Russian State was founded by Vikings but they assimilated and became more "russian".
