Cells and organisms need not operate continuously to remain alive. Many living things, human embryos, can be cryopreserved and revived. Humans can survive cardiac arrest and cessation of brain activity during hypothermia for up to an hour without lasting harm. Large animals have survived three hours of cardiac arrest near 0°C (+32°F ) (Cryobiology 23, 483-494 (1986)). There is no reason why such states of "suspended animation" could not be extended indefinitely at lower temperatures
It is now possible to foresee specific future technologies (molecular nanotechnology and nanomedicine) that will one day be able to diagnose and treat injuries right down to the molecular level. Such technology could repair and/or regenerate every cell and tissue in the body if necessary. For such a technology, any patient retaining basic brain structure (the physical basis of their mind) will be viable and recoverable.
Existing cryopreservation techniques, while not yet reversible, can preserve the fine structure of the brain with remarkable fidelity. This is especially true for cryopreservation by vitrification. The observations of point (a) make clear that survival of structure, not function, determines survival of the organism.
If the organizations are owned and run by the democratically elected members who are bound by legal charter then who is getting rich and how can they take the money? all members hold equall share in the nonprofit organization, subject to public and IRS audit!! You need to do your homework before you point fingers! Or you may come off as if you dont know what your talking about here!

What a bunch of SNAKE OIL SALESMEN!! First of all, don't screw with NATURE. People die to make room for others and who are you to OVER POPULATE the earth if reanimation can even be done...which so far...HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN! This guy talking sounds like an ass and sound UNINTELLIGENT!! I bet he sold spaghetti sauce before trying to sell this. LOL What's next...selling capsules on QVC????
Perhaps but maybe they are right...after all embryos have been frozen to LN2 and artic frogs freeze and thaw to normality..so who knows what the future will bring...28,000 is easy to fund with life insurance and a lot cheaper then a heart surgery that also has no gaurantees...yet people opt for surgery and potential death just to live a few more yrs...People pronounced dead toady really have nothing to loose and my guess is if it works then the universe will replace the earth for the populace?
Yeah this scheme is difficult enough though I still want endless research done so that they could even revive me if I die without controlled circumstances. And put me back together like a difficult jigsaw puzzle. And if there's any missing pieces then artificial or donated parts are necessary.
ALCOR & me believe that intelligence, memories & personality are determined primarily by the structure & chemistry of the human brain. Our aim is to preserve the brain so faithfully that its unique identity will also be preserved,so that future science may be able to revive the individual. We realize that this is highly speculative, but we feel that human life is sufficiently precious to justify our attempt, even thought the outcome is unknown.
