Go to Coffey's English Salon in the Crown Plaza Hotel (near Wu Yi square in the center of town.) It's on Tuesdays and Fridays. There are many people there who will gladly help for free just for the chance to practice his/her English.
Thank you for your video. It is very informative. I plan to visit next year but two things I hear from this video is a bit discouraging: hot weather and mother's having their children defecate in public. When is their local government going to do something about it public cleaniless. It is a disgrace for the rest of the people.
For 2006 this is somewhat accurate, but for 2010 it's already obsolete from the realities over there. Even the weather information... the last couple winters are insanely cold and snow days lasts for more than a month.
I just read the long march by sun shuyun it was a very good account of the struggles the chinese peoplewent thru to build their country to what it is today.
I believe she said "one of the. . ." Remember that Changsha lies at the bottom of the Xiang river valley, meaning that the humidity just sits on top in the summer.
The temperature shown, for anyone who has traveled past a comfort zone, is there to show the humidex, I believe.
How does that equate to "utter nonsense"?
I believe it might be time to make an appointment with the word choice doctor.
I dunno... I think this video paints a slightly innaccurately negative picture of Changsha. You don't seem to have any impressive photos of Changsha (which I managed to get a ton of when I lived there). I understand you can have your own opinion on the city but I feel a bit disappointed at your non-enthusiastic and not very appealing introduction to the city.
By the way Pizza Hut in Changsha is GREAT. The Pizza Huts there are like high-class restaurants. I'll admit the McDonalds suck though.
hehehe. mcdonalds sort of sucks here in USA also ^ ^ , Pizza hut !! YUM ! Wish i had some pizza hut now. I would so love to visit Changsha, maybe one day. I have a great friend who lives there now.
Hey Julie,i'm not sure about ur purpose about that,ChangSha is much better than u described. You probably just lived in the bottom of society in Changsha,so u have no an entire picture about that city.I'm living in England, honestly,in China's city, people's living standard even higher than that of European, but the countryside is still very poor.

As a local brought up in Changsha and as someone having experience living in the states for over 6 years, my point of views might not be neutral but I think the downsides pointed out by the western students are probably pretty common all over China, this country is improving, as well as this city... I like what a student said about "patience"
pardon? if u said those s**t is cuz u dont f***ing know changsha so keep ur mouth shut thank u. :) and it isnt a good video that really represent changsha tho
True. The TV programs produced in Changsha are loved by most Chinese people especially the young generation. They firstly introduced some show programs which have successfully made some super stars!
Hunan has the spiciest food in China! It is an honest introduction to Changsha(the bad security and the dirty habit of people, although they are not limited to Changsha). Maybe the video needs to include more skyscrapers and nightlife. Especially that Changsha is the entertainment capital of China.

"Changsha is one of the thre hottest cities in China."
Utter nonsense. Yes, it's hot, but many cities are hotter. The 34º shown is a regular temperature here in southern China.

She said "one of the three hottest". That is not true. Therefore nonsense.

No, therefore 'untrue', not 'utter nonsense'.
This is the way English works. Words mean things.

Changsha is ok but no trees, few parcs, few old houses, only one very interesting museum, many poor suburbs and f... local police.

CHANGSHA is a great city. The living standards of the higher class family are even higher than some US and EU cities.
I don't know what's your purpose of this Video.
You should take some picture of the street, not the corner of street.

Yep. I'm native to Changsha (born there) and it's awesome. I live in Melbourne now but I loved living in Changsha.
