Ok here's the deal. The explosion was from halo 2 when MC and keyes follows the covanant ship to the delta halo. Now at the time there were still Spartans on Earth during Halo 2. They didn't go to Onyx till after the cheif made it to the Delta Halo. So there are two possibilities. 1 you play as one of the four remaining Spartans or 2 you play as a squad of ODSTs.
Yeah they really do. But this campaign story line will probably have ODSTs the only problem with this is they would die really easy so maybe you would play as ODSTs in the SPI armor from the Spartan IIIs from Ghosts of Onyx.
It meant literally a water flood zone, not the parasitic flood zone. They flood didn't arrive in New Mombasa or any place on earth until the middle of Halo 3, whereas this game takes place in the beginning of a Halo 2 mission as an ODST or Hell Jumper.
When truth's ship jumped inside the city, caused that huge explosion, didnt the flood come down right after and you had a fight with the flood. So couldnt the ODSTs have jumped, boom explosion, wipes a shitload of shit out, time passes because it takes time for system to reboot after an explosion goes off like that, and then when it read Danger:Flood Zone actually mean the flood when they came down right after as in the story

Bungie is not keeping a spartan, the only spartans alive are in limbo is some underground facility (if you've read Ghost of Onyx) but you'll never know, but they will definitely or most likely put you in the shoes of an ODST.

Bungie is not keeping a spartan, the only spartans alive are in limbo is some underground facility (if you've read Ghost of Onyx) but you'll never know, but they will definitely or most likely put you in the shoes of an ODST.

This is NOT HALO 4!! This is an EXPANSION to the Halo 3 campaign/stroyline! From what it looks like, it revolves around the ODST's from the time of Halo 2 to maybe the start of Halo 3-midway Halo 3. After the New Mombassa Slipspace incident. Goddamn learn how to read you fucking n00bz.

This is from Halo 2 when Regret's Carrier jumps into Slipspace in New Mombassa. You can see it moving to the left as the slipspace rupture opens. The pods are ODST Jump Pods being sent down from (Orbital Stations? Orbiting UNSC Ships? Idk). I do think it's a sequel/prequel game.

ODST= Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, from the halo novels. when it says "prepare to drop" its probably meaning youre going to play from within the perspective of an ODST marine, which is just fucking awesome. by the way, i think its based off halo 2, since thats where the slipslace explosion happened.
