  • i just wanna get a rush

  • i just wanna get a rush!

  • Keep it up Rush!

  • when ever i hear this song i think of peter keating from the fountainhead.

  • 5:05am and RUSH Still sounds killer1

  • When the (bleep) will Rush be inducted in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?

  • isn't it great to watch such a fantastic band perform??? without a doubt the best band i have ever seen, and i go back to the sixties!!!!

  • I bet they, Rush, cringe seeing this video now. They let themselves almost go commercial and main stream. Now they don't give a shit because they are good and been accepted. I love Geddy Lee yelling on one dvd I have about how he is going to play HIS music and F them.

  • you are seeing one of the best drummers of all time

  • We where @ the Cajun Dome in Lafayette La. on this tour . One of my first intro's to true surround sound . What a GREAT show ! THX 4 the upload !!!

  • constantly amazed how great they play and how effortless they make it look, just fucking awesome!!!!

  • 2:20 "Geez, Alex, I'm already singing and playing simultaneously and you want to hold a conversation? GTFO!" hahaha

  • alex is rocking a tele, neil is rocking a french braid ( tres chic! ) & geddy is the most singular voice in rock...RUSH is all upward spiral!

  • Damn Alex, rock dem pants.

  • OMFG the part of bass *_*

  • Epic rat tail

  • Eff the Rock and Roll HOF. Let those baby boomer commercial whores jack each other off. More Rush for me.

  • Gotta love that mullet XD

  • Alex started a band and asked Geddy to play bass for them when they lost their bassist.

  • Geddy must have been having some trouble with his voice that night, seemed a bit off here and there... but also at a generally lower pitch... interesting

  • i think i love Rush more than my girlfriend. is this a problem?

  • @miiwii93 not at all...

  • @miiwii93 Well maybe, is your girlfriend intelligent?

  • @superunt43 yeah id say she's fairly intelligent

  • @miiwii93 Then do you shed tear regarding music, movies etc? I have a problem with any man that sheds no tear regarding such. I remain Scot-Irish male, meaning I wear kilt once a year. I regard my women as those I protect. Rush remains intelligent band, nothing more.

  • @miiwii93 not at all!!!! Loved them more than my ex wife, lol!!!!!

As much as I love the blues and playing them, Rush still ranks number one in my music heart!!!

  • @miiwii93 smart man

  • @miiwii93 Unless your girlfriend secretly writes amazing progressive rock anthems for the ages, then no.

  • Rush really should be in the hall. Please, johnnny cash gets nominated, not rush? cash is a country singer!

  • @Howfar9 I bet Johnny Cash would agree with you if he were here....Rush in the Hall!

  • freakin' genius.

  • a blonde telecaster, a black steinberger, and a ponytail on Neil Peart. What diversity!

  • Pretty funny..best charted song for Rush...It was right there..It didn't beat "Take Off"Geddy's #1

  • Abba is there,Tom Petty(I only mention because his tix were 10 bucks during a sold out Rush show)...The Pretenders,seriously?..the influence they had over the top drummer and bassist alive Fucking today?...Give me a break Rolling Stone

  • LL Cool J is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But not Rush. Not dissing LL, but just think about that.

  • @kroft67 Trust me I have thought about it. I love LL, however? Rush should own the Hall. They are better than Led, sorry to say so, but they are. LL actually changed my thought pattern back in the day, love the guy.

  • @superunt43 Rush is awesome, they're musical geniuses, they're technically superior to most bands, they're lyrics are thought-provoking/profound-BUT... not better than Led. As much as I like Rush, they lack the societal impact that Zeppelin has and the diversity in musical genres that Zeppelin mastered. Even though Rush is still an active band-Zeppelin (who haven't played together in years) still get more air time on most rock stations. I want Rush in the hall, too, but don't rip on Zeppelin.

  • @kochevar Rush is third in consecutive gold or platinum albums sold behind Beatles and Stones. I'd say that's a pretty strong societal impact, wouldn't you? And because they don't get as much radio play, it makes it even more significant. But this is art, and it's subjective, so none of that matters. You should lose the word 'better', because it doesn't apply to discussions like this. Just listen to what you like.

  • @kochevar I rip not upon Led? Where you get that idea?

  • badass. that's all there is to say, badass.

  • nine out of ten virgins want a new world man

  • Great period for Neil's drumming. 1979 to 1986 were epic. Still playing the Tama's here....

  • This band is such a freakin well oiled machine. A perfect damn show everytime. Huh, guess I'd know, I've seen em 17 times now. And they kick ass every damn time. Uhhh, ok, the sound sucked in TN in 95. Wow, in fact, this was the first show/ tour I saw Rush. My God, I was still in freakin High school..

  • does anyone else have an eyegasm everytime they see Geddy's hair?

  • This song just gets better every time I hear it.

  • Chewin gum an kickin ass!

  • New World Man Life During Wartime Book # 978-1-4568-9073-5

  • rush is super...

  • He's a Rebel and a runner, his dick is turning green! Just kidding. I love this song!

  • theres 8 gay people that seen this vid so far

  • Love rush,,,,always have always will!!

  • Rush is at their absolute prime here. Too bad a live Signals album never surfaced.

  • This is awesome..Thank you

  • Sorry, but I think this is when Al looked kewl...with the "slab".

  • Pre Signals, they were very special. But I guess you have to change, most great bands do.

  • @robx78 Pre-Signals? This is a couple years after Signals.....during the Grace Under Pressure Tour in 84.

  • Superb........full stop!

  • such musicianship. wow

  • I wish Rush was playing halftime of the Super Bowl this year over the Black Eyed Peas, because these guys actually entertain!

  • @JOglesby09 Right on! Having Rush play the Super Bowl halftime show would likely be as entertaining as the game itself!

  • alex lifeson looks like the funnest person ever to jam with.

  • @Brickdump He always looks like hes having a blast no matter whats hes doing

  • Listen to that bass sound with headphones on! Steinberger!!!

  • oh yeah...that bass is incredible...just unbelievable man @btcskins2003

  • @btcskins2003 Doing that right now-the sound is simply awesome!!

  • so why would you bother looking up this song on purpose and then hit the dislike button?

  • What song did thay play next after these one on grace under pressure tour anyone please ?

  • @seaduckman

It is any song you want to play. You can duck man or pick up the guitar, bass or drum sticks and play.

I was there in 1982. Do you see now man?

  • @seaduckman Distant Early Warning.

  • I've been a Rush fan for 30 years now, and I will never grow tired of them. Love them all! And I'm proud to say I'm a GEDDYCORN!!!

  • Rush IS AN Excellent Band!

  • Rush-The Thinking Man's Band. What makes them so great is that although they are obviously serious professionals at making excellent tunes that still hold true today lyrically and still stand out musically, they also know how to have fun. Case in point: Lerxst just chilling on top of his amp @1:12 and just jamming while acting like everything is hunky dory. You can't help but love these guys for their musicianship as well as their sense of humor.

  • Comment removed

  • Listen to that bass, no one can touch him

  • @jmroxx1 John Entwhistle.

  • Rush is easily the most creative band in the world

  • 2:20. Those two are such cut ups. LOL ;-) Long live RUSH!!

  • What a great version of this song! Alex is a trip. He still reigns as my favorite guitarist of all time.

  • What a great song! It's hard to believe it almost didn't make the album. What they thought was "filler" ended up being their biggest hit in the US!

  • Alex looks like hes having loads of fun,

  • Look at Alex, he kicks ass. Has anyone seen that "rant" of his where he talks about Paris Hilton. Hilarious.

  • this one rocks!

  • Damn, Neil sure can pen a lyric.

  • Love Geddy's Steinberger bass. Those little things packed a punch!

  • @westward2112 he hated them

  • @westward2112 To me, they are the 2nd best basses ever made behind the Rickenbacker 4001

  • learning to march the beat of the old world man

  • he's noble enough to win the world

but weak enough to lose it

  • Grace Under Pressure was perfect for the time it came out. I loved it then and i love it now. Still my favorite album from Rush. Remember driving thru the west Texas and New mexico deserts listening to this on a mini cassette player......what great memories I will never forget.

  • Best Live band on the planet........period exclamation point.......lets see a thumbs up Rush fans

  • Best post-moving pictures rush song

  • @dwilawyer I voted up for best post moving pics song.

  • @dwilawyer About sums it up. They are my favourite band ever, but I have to say that they were 100 times as good prior to Signals...

  • @robx78

Well, I think everything up to and Including signals was amazing.

Not quite sure enough about the rest, I know theres a few good ones after, but not an album that I can call100% perfect like their first few

  • too fuckin good

  • This was such an awesome concert.

I would love to see the whole video scene at the end of this song. It was so cool.

  • I might just be ripped, but I think Alex lets one rip at 3:28, lol

  • Love how Peart is rocking a rat tail haha

  • Rush is being the soundtrack of my life..

all my memories and emotions got crazy..

and dance agitated in my soul when their music

    RUSH trought my senses "....

  • wow 7 people accidentally hit the dislike button

  • @fireguye4 nah i can understand why people wont like this if they expected more of the moving pictures type sound but i love this aswell so i liked

  • I think if I could attend one Rush concert from any tour it would be this one. Geddys voice sounded great and the song list would be loaded with stuff from my favorite period, 1980 to 84. Excellent sound on this clip!

  • maybe i said it before, there s something in their music thats so addictive.one listen and i come back for more.

  • Geddy should have knocked the shit out of, you know! :)

  • Neil is not genius. He's an android from the 25 century. Looking back its easy to seam like a prophet.

Evidence: plays the same as he did in 1976. If you learn the "beats" then you still hear them today. 2|4..6\8 or whatever Alex came up with. He can do it.

Once right, then he puts it on a track. Why change it when u have perfection, even 30 years later.

  • It's straight up frighting how prophetic many of Rushes lyrics looking back at them now. More proof Neil is a genius.

  • One of my top faves from Rush! They are truly incredible live. Their absence from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame just goes to further prove what a joke it really is. No Kiss, no Yes, no Cheap Trick....., but.....Donna Summer gets nominated??

  • Wish the DVD had shown Alex playing his blood red Strat with chrome pickguard. I remember him playing it on the GUP tour and reflecting the lights toward people as he played. Looked like a beam of light shooting out of his guitar. Ah, yeah, the glory days...

  • Can Rush please be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame now, please? kthx.

  • God, these guys are amazing! What an awesome trio!

  • absolutely love the bass line. its so simple but so nice, especially in the hands of DIRK lol

  • Defying comparison, endlessly copied and truly admired. These are true artists doing what others strive for.

  • Everything is so perfect and clear...just listen to that steinberger bass hum, that fender sing, the taurus pedals, those tama drums...rush should never have strayed from this winning formula.

  • again,serious good song.

  • very kinetic. i love it

  • I want Geddy's voice. And Alex's pants :)

  • you wanna know how good Peart is. listen at 2:20 when he comes in early. i call it a "giddy up" its an absolutely artful entry into the chorus. love this band.

  • They look so different compared to the exit stage left tour.

  • This video is proof positive that the bass guitar can be the "lead" instrument! I LOVE the bass and also love Ged's voice in this tune (and also in Witch Hunt from the same tour). It's got a different richness/tone than usual. Rush is #1.

  • How did anyone thumb this vid down? It's Rush! Automatic amazing-ness. Hell if it were ratings, it'd be a guaranteed 5 star for Neil's rat tail \m/

  • holy crap, geddy shreds on this tune

  • "No Carbohydrates" : )

I'm not going to the next show if Rent-a-Band is gonna be there. : (

  • Neil Peart's rat-tail is now up for sale on E-bay All the proper documentation is included! The reserve is $2112.

  • If you watch Alex was rebelling against Getty from 2:04 on

  • I love it from like 1:10 to a little after that you can see Alex going up to getty like I hate this, if you listen he plays the Bass as he walks up to Getty, basicly saying Can we rock please

  • This song is so hard to sing and play bass at the same time, just shows how good he is at it

  • Look how young and healthy they look :D They can still perform today !! its GREAT!

  • Love the bass in this song. Love it.

  • @fridaysabtu Bugger off!

  • LOVE THIS!!

Neil is playing like he really mean it here.

  • @frankenshank Truly is, love when he's just leaning back on an amp cab while he plays. Pretty cool rendition.

  • I love the voice here , Geddy lee is a genious vocalist....

  • All of their songs are great. :)

  • brute talent....we can all just watch....never emulate.

  • @neilzep Hmm, i'd have to disagree with you. Musicians only inspire others, so in the end, you get loads of bands trying to be the next rush.

  • @Equipe3v group named Led Zeppelin is another bro, rest are just counterfeits.

  • one of the best bass lines I've ever heard

  • so much energy in this song =)

  • will the "new world man" ever find the cure for his poisons???

  • Its the 21st century, he probably has by now!LOL!

  • nope...a work in progress..then again we are just passing through

  • Yes. A shot of Crown Royal.

  • this is a fun song

  • That's a good way to describe it ;D

  • bliymee chackraa

  • i'd love to watch that whole concert.

  • No surprise here - totally and completely kick-a**!

  • Tight and super sharp live performance...gotta love it!

  • neil's braided hair is awesome

  • best jewish singer and bass player ever

  • Geddy uses the same bass as Jerry, from Devo.

  • yeah its a Steinberger Bass , but Jerry from Devo play's his strung backwards cuz hes a lefty.

  • Mullets, pony tails, are goodhair styles illegal in Canada?

    Great songs though....

  • HahaXDXD

  • And by "are illegal" you mean "25 years ago, in 1984," right?

  • It's only a joke! Relax.

Besides if you wait long enough any hairstyle will be all the rage again.

  • I'm waiting on bell-bottoms.

  • That's one trend I'm gonna buck!

  • Go guys!

  • I LOVE RUSH GO NEIL,ALEX AND GEDDY

  • Here, all The Police's influences. Very good!!

  • good impression of Andy Summers

  • @kalungarocker Fuck you Alex Lifeson!

  • rush is such a awsome band.

  • @JakeArino

watch the trailer park boys, they absolutely adore them as well.

    at least bubbles.

  • I think I was there the night they recorded this song at Maple Leaf Gardens. The best band ever!

  • Incredible!!

  • I love how Geddy pointed to Alex when he said "Fool!"

    2:40

  • Love geddy's voice at 2:22 "oh..man!"

  • Hey! Lifeson with a Telecaster! Too cool! You always come back to the basic. I own many electrics. Never thought my Tele would become my number 1, but there you have it. No modifications either. Just straight out stock pickups and 1-piece maple neck. All you need sometimes.

  • nice Steinberger....

  • Rat-tail detected at 0:07 , sir. What should we do, Captain?

Maintain course. It's fucking RUSH, Corporal.

    Agreed, sir. Agreed.

  • Dude...this is THE best comment I have ever seen! LMFAO!

  • ahaha
