Honestly I do kinda hope the world comes to this, cuz we all know that it's gonna take something extreme like this to gain our independence from oil.
Also all the big oil tycoons will lose their bargaining power. We all know there's always another way to do things (i.e solar, wind, wave, geothermal, hydro fusion) but issues such as profiteering, inflation, and purposly causing scarcity always gets in the way to true progession. The unfortunate truth is: MONEY makes the world go round.

WTF FL is the most oil dependent state in the nation could that be bc the state was run by Bush.
With waistful people like the BUSH family it makes you wonder why they call conservatives conservative bc they are anything but.
At first building green tech will create jobs but later it will eliminate jobs but we really don't need as many jobs what we really need is the land to grow food on and education how to grow since hydrocarbon man has lost those skills.

Build a home with a heatpump they use less energy then plan for a solar water heater install a solar oven in the home insulate the home well and try to have some fiber optic lighting. Build facing the south install a wood heater backup that has external airsupply. The est home you could build is a MDI dome home they are near disaster proof use 1/3 the energy of a traditional home and are best suited when it comes to off grid housing. Watch tv dvd etc on lap top they are most efficient LED lights

If you use all these tips store water where less pumping is involved you could get a system that cost less bc each KWH has to be generated by solar the less you have to generate the smaller your system can be in turn your initial cost will be far less than we expect to pay today. Water is going to be the largest determining factor as to where to build unless we install desalination plants on the west coast that can supply all those people. We may soon be learning Amish tech to survive.
