Up until I bought I had a Samsung Epix with AT&T robbing me blind monthly on contract upwards of 150.00 average.Then came a better phone the code and a cheaper carrier Metro PCS and the phone is taking a little getting used to because for a short time I had a samsung sh 350 crap and I then bought the i220 after the 350 went kaput.thank you for the review.

Buying this phone was a mistake it freezes, drops calls, don't tell you when you have missed a call, you can have four bars and still get bad reception. It's terrible if you like to travel or even go in your basement at times. Glad I'm switching companies.

I had brought this phone 1/18/10 and it was one of the biggest mistakes i have made. It dropped a lot of my calls, people said they called me two and three times yet i had no missed calls. I called metropcs and their like "it happens depending on where your at", "i said I be at home with 4 bars i don't understand". The phone has a limited of space for photo's and i mean limited. The phone froze a lot too metropcs your garbage switching companies.

Lots of people have been asking me.

I think I'll write a more detailed breakdown on my blog but I am sticking with the Code. The reason is simple: the apps.

The Code is Windows Mobile and there are a lot of free apps out there.

The Caliber by comparison is just a Samsung OS and there are almost no apps for it. There is facebook, myspace, and maybe a dozen more but that's it. Although the touch screen is kind of cool and its like a poor iPhone or Android the lack of apps keep me away for now.

Awesome my dad just got this phone and I should be getting mine next week some time. I had the t-mobile sidekick 08 it was a good phone..couldn't do half of the stuff this one does..actually it couldn't do anything near to what this phone does and for 75$ a month?! @sevensharpeleven Me too! It took me like a week to realize the silver button in the middle of the rotating wheel had a little blue plastic protective cover which started drifting off center. I peeled it off and only then realized it.  It was like having a whole new phone again :)

@fsantana09 OMG, same as me! Yeah. now, I'm thinking of trying the Pay-As-You Go Boost Blackberry just to see how the speed on that is. But it's $60 a month though and that adds up. Functionally the Metro Code is better than the Blackberry IMHO which is surprising to me b/c I thought Windows mobile was dead. Now I carry it around EVERYWHERE. Meanwhile, they just announced Windows Phone 7. I wonder if we can upgrade it later. Stay tuned.

I went out and got this phone about a month ago but i only get "1X" service here in Los Angeles. I thought this phone was capable of receiving "evd" or something like that, which i hear is the faster signal or the "3g"! Do i have to change the settings on my phone? Someone please help!

I also only get 1x here in NYC. Metro does not have 3G / EDGE from what I understand. Speeds are comparable to dial-up which you can really feel when you tether this to your laptop. Its the network so there is no phone setting required. I think its faster in Florida and the south where they have a different network which also supports the Blackberry which we can not use in NYC.

Wow, that is surprising. I had to do the otherway around and dropped my $99 a month Unlimited Now Network for the $50 Unlimited MetroPCS smartphone plan. Anything less than the $99 at Sprint is not Unlimited everything like $50. I can't live without Unlimited anymore as this is my only phone. I tether with this now too.

Naw you call metro from a different phone (home phone or other cell) and they will ask you for esn and stuff and tell you how to activate it from home.

Good question. I waited MONTHS for the Unlimited Curve from Metro in NYC. It still hasn't come out b/c we have an different network. I got the Blackberry from Sprint but cancelled once this came out. If you plan to travel with the Metro Curve it does not work in all places. The Code does. I'll come out with more pros and cons on the two in my blog but hope this helps till then.
