  • The 986 or NO boxster at all! love the sound and the touch of ''sportyness'' to the drive.

  • TheLion, that so cool !!

  • Thanks again for your timely information! I am strictly a street and highway driver, no track, so I'll keep the same 1999 Boxster brakes. Again, I appreciate your tips.

  • Question: I have a blown crankshaft(doesn't run) on my 1999 Boxster 2.5liter engine(210hp). Can I replace it with a 3.8liter that has 345hp? If so, what else has to be done to complete this conversion?

  • @beginnerkeys Yes, the 3.8 will snug in there. I believe the engine cover needs to be bowed slightly to fit the taller intake manifold. You can also convert from electronic throttle to cable throttle, my friend Carlos did that on his Boxster. The ECU needs to be changed also. In the end the 3.8 doesn't know it's in a Boxster with the new ECU and it runs happily.

  • @redcarsarasota

Thanks for your valuable tips! What about the brakes? Can they stay the same or do I need to upgrade, if I get the 3.8(345hp), will my current braking system do?

  • @beginnerkeys For the street you'll be fine. For the track I'd go 355mm Brembos in the front. You'll never have fade.

  • very nice driving!!

ur boxter and my s2000 would make a good race!:)

i get my licence back in march though.

  • Good laps.

  • It's the Stig!!

  • why is this in slow motion ?

  • It doesn't look as fast as it does when you are in the car because the video camera was on wide angle.

  • lol what can 600 bucks do for me ?? haha i just want to give it that little x-tra push you know. what better to put on the boxster a turbo or supercharger?lol what are the prices of both of them?

  • Supercharger is about $7k plus install. Turbo isn't available although you could probably install a dry sump twin turbo engine if you can find room and/or make room for the plumbing. But that's going to be a lot more.

  • i got an 04 boxter my self all stock and i dunno what to put on it that is not that pricy but will help me beat those little rice rockets on the steet any help comments?

  • My 02 Boxster 2.7 ran a 14.1 @ 98 mph with headers and a sport muffler, my 06 Carrera does 12.6 @ 110 mph with a 3.6 liter and headers and sport muffler. You could stick a 3.6 liter in the Boxster and it'll do even better if you can find the traction.

  • lol that wasnt an all stock boxter was it?

  • Headers and sport muffler. Suspension is 100% stock. 2.7 liter engine. It didn't weigh a lot because it didn't have many options on it.

  • It makes me wanna make my '97 an RS track toy.

  • Nit a car buff, but you kept me on the edge of my chair! great video!

  • I want you to come to texas and show me how to drive my boxster!

  • fuck me ur good!

  • that car sounds so nice

  • Great Job! and only the 2.7 and not the 3.2! Goes to show good driving can take you to the front in a Scoda if you have the skills.

    Fellow Boxster driver

  • man you are an exellent driver you smoke everyone very good driving!!

  • Thanks man!

  • excellent driving

    ottocar

  • You got to love your boxster. Nice run!

  • Nicely done.A joy to watch.

  • Good lines around Sebring, esp. Sunset Bend. 2:45 in traffic, that's great. I only get the high 2:50's in my RX-8.

  • superb

  • I also track my boxster thru PCA and PBOC. Its so much fun and the best car for it including the cayman because of mid engine layout. carrera gt has more similarities to the boxster/cayman than a 911. I love my boxster..My daily driver is a bentley continental gt, so I can be a critic of any porsche, I think I have earned it, there is also a carrera gt in my garage

  • Thanks!

  • Nice job picking off those Carrera's! Does the Boxster have that much more attack on the corners, or are you that much better than the other drivers? Also, it sounded like you were using 3rd-5th, picking them up in the low 3000rpm's. . .is that optimal for the 2.7 liter? Anyhow, very cool video. Thanks for sharing it.

  • I did some things to the car, mufflers, headers, intake, chip, 12 lb aluminum flywheel, suspension was 100% stock, oh yeah and 355mm Brembos on the front. It made power everywhere but the quarter mile time was still 14 flat at 98 mph so it wasn't even base model Carrera in terms of acceleration. I was just able to pass them because they tell me I'm a quick driver. It paid to keep that car above 3600 rpm with the 2.7 liter.

  • You seemed to have them outclassed...braking later, picking up the throttle sooner, smoother line...nicely done!

  • very cool..what year boxster is that???

  • It's a 2002 Boxster base model, 2.7 liter. I now have a 2006 911 Carrera but I haven't taken any video with it yet.
