  • The singer's voice and style of this song reminds me of Roy Orbison!

  • I like Gertie & the T.O. Boyz version.

  • I wish someone would get a video of my brother and I when we sing this song. I think we do good with it. I just wish someone else would agree with me.

  • why the hell would such a great band like the mavericks ever break up? well probably egos all over the place; that is the problem , lots of idiots in the music world'' such a shame these guys are not still making fine music. today,s country really sucks hard'' all these wanna be garth brook morons

  • Great song, great voice, great guitar, magical sound ...always moves me to tears

  • I've been fortunate enough to see them a few times in person and even met the guys one night a few years back at the Omni Hotel in Austin, Texas. Raul is very arrogant and when we saw her at the Beacon Theater performance in NYC he was obnoxious and rude; it sort of put a bummer on the performance which, btw, was so loud I thought I'd blown my ear drums for good. Really loved the band at it peak though. Thanks for this post. ;)

  • @Scarlett4Zanzibar Kinda a bummer when hero's become asses. Bet ya still like the music though. Lot's of stars are not what they appear.

  • the beging of one of the best!!

  • The combination of those pounding drums, Raul's silky, sensual voice and that ringing Rickenbacher is an instant hook. No wonder people like this band so much. Where are they now, when "country music" needs talented musicians/singers/songwriters?

  • The CD that this song is on is one of the best country CD's made and it always sounds so refreshing. What an amazing voice Raul has!!

  • What happened to the Mavericks?! They were one of the only country bands that I really liked and then they just kinda disappeared! What a crying shame!

  • Man, I really miss their music.

  • how did I ever miss these guys? They are fantastic

  • Almost 2 decades later & I"m STILL listening to them! :) This album is a classic & Raul Malo is STILL a hottie :)

  • 1234!

  • yeah, so do I..., what happened? for a while there, I was a fan of radio country, cause I tuned in one day and it seemed like they had a clue... now , you can find the authentic stuff out there, but it has nothing to do with the ACM or Taylor Swift.

  • Wow, he was thin!

  • I saw this years ago on a country & westen channel in uk . i liked so much of the music on that channel & i wondered why more of this music was,t more popular. Another song i liked was of a Black man walking in a corn field singing satisfaction

guaranteed, what he had growned with his own hands.sorry i,m going on a bit!

  • @skyblue1955 Sounds like you are referring to Just for the Love of it by Charley Pride. Also another great country song and artist

  • @solarcollector123 .Thanks for that! after over 20 years it,s good to hear that song

  • So young and thin here. This is an Old Video

  • Saw the Mavericks in concert in the mid-90's, in Grand Forks ND. The opening act was Junior Brown. It don' get no better than that. Best concert I'd ever been to.

  • I seen the same show only in Duluth MN, it was friggin sweet! Flouco wasn't there though

  • the bass player is such a hunk!! oh baby !

  • wtf

  • You ever notice how all country videos are the same? the band playing and random shots of some woman in black and white?

  • so yummy

  • GREAT song.

  • i love the Mavericks

  • This is the only song I remember by the Mvaricks.... Thats sad

  • video kinda reminds me of inxs

  • my uncle

  • Used to see these guys at Tobacco Road in downtown Miami...a Cuban country band....seemed weird at the time but we know Raul's love of Elvis and Roy Orbison. Wish the Mav's had stayed together but we know how strange it got in Nashville when they got the big record contract...if I were still making movies I'd do that story....Jamie Fox as Raul Malo....think about it....lol....

  • This is the song that started my love affair with the Mavericks. In an era when so much country music was sounding like pop music, this was something different....a nod to a different era with just enough modern elements thrown in to appeal to all kinds of audiences. Raul and the guys sure knew how to deliver a unique sound!

  • The Mavericks were one of those rare bands that come along once a decade or two. Their sound is very unique. I miss this stuff!

  • @Tinmanchromed77 Heard that, Tinman! Great music!

  • @Tinmanchromed7

    Weren't they so good?

  • so exquisitely 90's

  • What happed to these guys i miss them Not to many bands sound this good out of the studio these guys are wonderful

  • This is what a three-chord song should sound like.

  • I fell like a ton of horses for these guys when I first saw this vid back in the '90s.

Best country video I think next to the ones Dewight Yokum made. ie BAKERSFIELD

  • The Mavericks was a GREAT band. I miss this kinda music. :)

  • Abso LUV THIS! av followed MAV's 4 ages, av luved their music & av sin them live on many occasions! Raul's voice is THE BIZ - but am concerned if it is true that he no longer communicates with ex Mav's!!! Robert Reynolds - in particular, PLUS, others RATED Maulo as No 1 can't believe he wud turn is bak on REAL friends !!

  • I really miss these guys. In a 2007 interview (posted on youtube), Raul stated that he doesn't even keep in touch with the other members. Whatever the reasons, it's a "cryin' shame."

  • Rickenbacker

  • At 3:11 and 3:48 a cameo appearance of ME!

  • cool

  • Raul malo has sheer talent, unmatched by todays standards by far, he needs to realease a new, personal recording. This brother has the skill. Kinda crazy considering the band is cuban.( i could be wrong)

  • Raul has a voice from God!

he is such an awsome singer

and this is what country music should sound like!

  • 1:04 Michael Bolton Cameo, lol, jk

  • I got the greatest hits.

Crying shame, Crying shame if you don't keep hearing talent like this.

  • I love these guys. Raul Malo sounds like Roy Orbison to me. What a voice!!! He's simply incredible. Enough said.

  • He's always reminded me of Roy O also. and thats high praise too.
