  • thanks jacob for the clear vedio its helpful my son is 6 will be starting his pump on friday he have the mio infusion set also thanks again an keep doin vedios we will watch n like

  • I'm 18 and have been diabetic since I was 5. I don't have a pump yet, but my doctor has been after me to try it and I love everything about the MiniMed Paradigm Revel; but have you ever used the Continuous Glucose Monitoring? I have constant highs and need something to help out. Do you have any advice? Thanks =)

  • I've had the pump for a while so I'm using the insertion device that comes separately. I know the normal infusion sets come with a cap/cover thing to protect the insertion site when you disconnect the pump, but I didn't notice a cap come with the mio. How do you cover the insertion site when showering and whatnot?

Also, how come you filled up your reservoir only to 200 rather than the full 300 units? Very useful video though, thanks :)

  • @2iHeartYou2 The covers are included in the 10 pack box. It comes with 2 of them. We just keep them in my sons meter pouches or his supplie box.

  • If you set the bottle down on the table to put the air in it, you won't have as many bubbles in the resevoir. Harder to do w/ a new bottle of insulin, but it gets rid of those little bubbles in the insulin when you draw it up.

  • I have been a diabetic since I was 2 1/2. i am now 30... I love my Mios! I don't like change, normally, and I examined them really good before I switched from the QuickSets, but i like not having to pack an inserter arund with me. I usually always have to pack an extra set change around, because I am constantly doing something to mine. And the one time I go somewhere w/o an extra one will be the time i need it!

  • Thanks for this great video, I use to use the Quick-set infusion set but kept forgetting to make sure the arrows lined up and then I would not get any insulin and wonder why I had high sugars. Frustrating. With the Mio, no having to line up arrows - great advantage! I couldn't figure out how to pull the stuff off after inserting! Thanks for sharing.

  • just a tip, my son is type 1 diabetic and I learned that if you are not using IV prep site will stick better and hold better after showers. We just prep the skin with alcohol.

since then site doesn fall off or get loose after showers ...

  • Thank you for explaining that system. You made my night!

  • Thanks for such clear display of the actual pump menu. We are using sure-t but it helped to know if we wanted to use another kind of infusion set. My son is 11 so it helps for him to see what other guys use.

  • I used to work in the 24hr. helpline at Medtronic Diabetes, now I'm glad that I don't and will never work for any Medtronic company ever.

  • Thank you so much- this really helped my daughter out. She loves the Mio compared to the Silhouette. At 9- she can do this herself. We appreciate the video. Stay healthy!!!

  • Thanks soooo muchh! I was really scared to do this!! I can do it now! :)

  • I want to thank you so much for making this video .My 15 year old was sooo nervous about inserting the device. He thought it was going to hurt, I guess because of the popping noise it makes, but after seeing how brave you were, his confidence was back. He was going along with the video

while he was inserting it. You did a great job on explaining how to prepare and insert the device. 2 Thumbs Up :-)

  • Hey i have trouble wearing all that diabetes jewelery, and i noticed you were wearing a bracelet that i liked. if possible, what kind of bracelet is that and where could i get it???

  • @ihitchaws24 Well that is actually not a diabetic bracelet, but a great website for some medic id bracelets is stickyj.com

  • i got this same infusion set... im 16. btw i never realized how cool the clear pump looks....i got the black one

  • hello man my name is alex lopez i been a diabetic since i was 11 years old and on the pump since i was 11 now im 18 this video helped me out i just got the new mio and i was having trouble till i saw this. i have a question where else do you put the infusion set ? cuz so far my abs have small scares dut to the insertion

  • @pimp78521 I put in my stomach and my upper rear-end!

  • thanks so much! it was my first time changing sites & this really helped

  • You shouldn't take off the needle guard until you have the inserter cocked back. I have broken 2 sets by taking it off before then. The set tilted in the inserter and I couldn't get it back into place. The instructions for the Mio and Inset (a very similar infusion set) both also say you should remove the needle guard after cocking the inserter.

  • Great! Going to try out the mios very soon and looking forward to it.

  • Thanks for this video - great job. I have been type 1 for 28 years now and I am just going on the pump. This looks easy enough :)

  • Well done... I can wait to try the mio sets.

  • This video has been so helpful.my daughter was issued her medtronic pump 3 days ago and there was so much information to take in...we couldnt remember how to open the meo set let alone set it up so thank you so much for this.

  • @kayjayxx65 Thank you! and no problem! Things will get easier! I'v had a pump since i was 5, and am now 15!

  • Thank you! This was very helpful when we switched from quickset to mio.

  • @KatherineAKennedy No problem!

  • @dibeticteen

thankyou so very much!!! your great!!:)

  • Have you used any other infusion sets and, if so, how do they compare? My 1 and a half year old daughter started out on the Silhouette, but we've switched to Quickset. Quickset is okay, but I think we're going to try the Mio next.

  • @LittleLucysLife No, on the medtronic i haven't used any others. I love the Mio compared to the quickset, as 1, it is quicker in my opinion, and you really don't have to touch the needle. The unit actually takes the the needle out when you pull up after squeezing the sides to insert. Much easier process!

  • is this site different from the quick set and the silohette? just wondering cuz i just got the mio and i'm not exactly sure on how it still works...

  • @orlandobloom1310 This set is a bit similar to the quick set but the mio is a all in one unit, infusion set and inserter built in, only one time use., the silohuette is an angled set with a much longer needle.

  • @orlandobloom1310 Yes, it is a bit different

  • Like the first Mio video on youtube! LOL! Thanks for posting!

  • @DesireeandDiabetes No problem!

  • Speaking of insulin, I just got finished eating a boatload of sweets. Haha... Great vid man.

  • @HaligonianType1 haha! Thanks!
