  • o soprano nao esta em harmonia com o coro. os graves nao estao seguros e falta um pouco mais de dinamica, pois o soprano se perde muito. o coro esta muito bom!!!

  • My Alma Mater. So proud of them.

  • Nice rich sound; blend. drags a little in parts, baby unfortunate, but the very best I've heard o line today, even from the colleges - who don't memorize!

  • their blend is phenomenal.

  • impressive is the fact that this group actually had dynamic changes .. the director knows his stuff. this is very reverent and is by far the best h.s. choral version i've heard.

  • My favorite part of this song is when they sing the word "Alleluia"

  • The inflection here for a high school choir is fantastic-- not even just for a high school, just very well done in general.

  • I miss and love this sooo much <3

  • What a great sounding group! Their blend was really tight, and to stay that close to pitch for that long takes great listening. It's a gorgeous and moving piece of music (like so much of Randall Thompson), and this video shows what a creative director can do with a group of fabulous singers who've memorized their music. Mr. Anthony, you've given these kids a great gift.

  • My school ! (:

  • Rare to hear a high school group where the first sopranos can handle those soaring notes without becoming shrill and without distorting the oo vowel. It was such a difficult piece for us in college! Thank you for a very enjoyable 5 minutes online. Now, if I can get my hair to lie back down.

  • This is one of the best high school choirs I've ever heard...period.

  • Rock and Roll !!!!!

    Yeah !

  • wowm they did a really great job. my choir sung this arrangement back in 2001-2002

  • this sounds really nice, everyone has a very good tone quality and a wonderful blend

  • That "Amen" was gorgeous.

  • this sounds great...love the alto and tenor blend.

  • Superior...AAA+ job and congratulations to your music teacher for exposing you to such beautiful music. Now go forward and carry this with you for the rest of your lives.

  • DAMN BABY! Mr.A ;) lol ... miss concert choir sooo much!

    <3 Cymbeline

  • There's another version of Alleluia that I don't remember the name of,...Can someone please tell me??

  • @nogin8000 or you could mean the verson of alleuia written by mozart :)

  • Awesome!

  • Beautiful voices! Great director. Good job!

    (:

  • beautiful!

  • freakin baby! gyah!

  • you guys are great

  • I just worked with Weston Noble this past weekend. You're pretty lucky. Most people wont know who he is unless they are serious Choral singers/directors.

You're lucky and the choir sounds awesome.

  • I'm just LOLing at how the conductor did a U-turn just to bow, lmao.

  • YEAH! hahaha ^_^

  • the baby ruins it every time. I've listen to this piece many times because I think their rendition is marvelous, but right when I hear the baby, I go "Stupid baby." hahaha

  • It's fantastic

  • Lovely but why people bring little babies to concerts i have no idea, It could at least cry in pitch.

  • lol!

  • lmao

  • ang galing!!!! d best ever....

  • they r so good!!!

  • wow yall are so good!!!

    ur an amazing director.

wow keep up the amazing work!!!

  • Bravo! We just got this music for our church choir and your performance will be an inspiration!

  • JAnthony37

I have been in many of the festivals that PMEA and ACDA have to offer. I was able to sing this song at one of them before. What this group went from seasons of love to this is absoutly stunning. Keep up the work. And if this isn't the director, pass on my congradulations for me please. Now that i am in college i am seeing how much i missed my highschool choir and what my director was able to do with us.

  • I have watched several of this choir on youtube and is the best high school choir I've heard so far. Vowell sounds are good, dynamics good. I sang this song many years ago in my high school choir. Very challenging.

  • Well done! I remember this from the old Kennedy Choir under Ron Cohen--what a piece--you did a fine job!

  • Wow-they actually have a couple of guys that can get down to the low C at the end, which is really inpressive considering they were close to a half step flat at the end-well done basses!

  • thats actually a low D at the end. Well supposed to be. It ended up bein between a D and a Dflat cuz its hard to keep the pitch up on that song. But very nicely done nonetheless Janthony37.

  • wala akong alam sa pitch. ang alam ko lang, ang ganda ng performance nila.

    keep it up!

    godbless

  • Wow, they stay in tune! I am so happy that I found your choir. They are truly awesome. I would love to come to a performance in LI or if you have a performance coming in the city. Does the choir have a website?

  • Amazing! I remember singing this song with my choir and it just sticks with you. It truely makes you realize there is so much good left in this world. Great Job.... Just watch not to overshout in the middle!

  • this is definately an awesome piece

    great sound

best wishes to all of you!

  • this sounds so heavenly

    great job!

  • I still get chills when I hear the ending. You are amazing JADA.. :)

  • AMAzinggggggggggggggggggggg YAL SOUNG LIKE AH COLLEGE WERE DUIN THIS SONG TU

  • Well done!!!!

  • for a high school choir, you all are amazing!

  • Very Good choir watch the high notes at the end right before the tempo change. Excellent for a high school choir. I love it being a high school choir director in Beaumont Texas.

  • niceeeee<3

  • very very nicee gotta sing this for intense choir tryouts! :)

  • best of luck it is such a wonderful piece

  • THANkYOU for posting thiss!! i need this for tryouts for something huge that i really wanna get into!

  • Exquisite! This excited me like no choir has in a looooooong time.

  • did a great job with this!

  • i know they sound great!

  • Amazing, gotta love Randall Thompson

  • We played this in high school band that same year. I must say, it sounds a lot better sung!

  • Wow - great job from a former CI resident... may you all know Who this song is for!

    And accept His greatest gift.

    Great job!

  • that was really lovely

  • this sounds pretty good :]

my choir did it last year and despite the lack of text... it was a tough piece!

  • As a neighbor from near by Bay Shore High, class of 75, I was overjoyed. Forget any an all criticism, all was done from the heart and straight from a higher power, even from the conductor, who was great. Great, great job, all should be proud. I enjoyed it so much. Congradulations to all. Charlotte, NC

  • so beautiful

  • excellent job!!! sounds great. extremely beautiful harmonies. tenors sound a bit pushy at points though.

  • we are playing a band arrangement of this in Wind Ensemble and I Love it!

  • amazing. the tenor allelulias at the near end were lacking a nice punch though. and at the end it actually sounded pretty nice without the sfz. great balance

  • awesome job! go alto 2's!

  • Love this song. Our choir's going to sing this and it was crazy when I first looked at all the parts, but it's so awesome, even with the harmonies changing a million times...Good job, by the way. :)

  • I love that alto part. Great Job.

    Michele Ruffino Calhoun 85'

  • wow, the dynamics are amazing. my school's chamber choir was going to do this, but with an all girl's chorus it was a little frustrated.

  • JAnthony37: In my humble opinion,you are a

fine conductor,& bringing out the best in a H.S. Choir, whose voices are still developing.

A difficult composition to sing well,

especially subtle nuances.. An Honour to be chosen to conduct & have your choir sing @ this event! Kudos! - W.N.A.C.member (Penny)

  • Yes Central Islip is in Long Island, New York.

  • Beautiful!!

I sang this song in chior too!!

  • omg i sang this song in choir! GO HIGH SPRANOS!!! lol

  • WoW! I sang this song in HS and I still remember the bass part. Your choir sounds great!

  • One of the students fainted?!

  • wow ur really good my 7th grade concert choir is singing a jazzed up gospel version of alleluia.

Is this in New York central islip

    ?

  • beautiful

  • the song made me cry :') I'm singing this in my chorale group in school =]

  • That was great! Thank you for posting.

  • my school did this song, cept it was an All boys chorus. we sounded pretty damn good too.

  • we did this 2 years ago and i love it cuz with one word repeated he can send you on such a spiritual experience! the sops were kinda off and it really speeded up towards the end. well its faster than we did it anyway. but kudos 4 high school choir pullin it off at ALL! not an easy peice despite that its only one word!

  • singing the high ass tenor part of this long ass song guarantees a pained throat.

  • More sound would have been better. But it was beautiful anyway. My singing group is singing that song too

  • i think the dynamics could have been stonger and more pronounced but nice tone, i i like the colors

  • excelente por el esfuerzo que se hace en las escuelas al implementar la música coral en un nivel bueno. Al maestro director una opinión muy humilde... un poquitin mas de matiz en esa obra, esa es su esencia. Bien por todos muy bonito!

  • Excellent!

  • what the person was trying to say was:

That's why you are not supposed to take babies to choir concerts...

    lol. nothing about horseradish. haha

  • For having such a good sound, I would hope you would upgrade on the robe buddy :D. Good stuff.

  • We did this in my senior year for the Heritage Festival in 2000. We won 3rd place. During that year, we grew to hate the phrase, "Take out...Alleluia." But I can still sing the alto part note for note. This a good performance for a High School choir. You have some talent in that group.

  • My school's choir is currently doing this. ^^

Well, we're in the middle of it - practicing, that is.

We sound quite similar, if I do say so myself. ;)

  • a few intonation issues in the sopranos, otherwise great high school performance

  • ok... For that reason is that the people musn't to take babys to the choral music concerts....! ok my english is not good.. so excuse me for it!! jeje

  • yall r good

  • weston noble is a god. luther college rocks!

the thompson is hard piece. this choir is quite fine.

  • also a littel bit more "punch" with the tenor section when they repeat the forte alleluias

  • amazing but tenors were a little bright in their vowels

  • Just gorgeous in all aspects: Stage Presence, Blending, Dynamics, Expressions. Bravo
