@ivanchica21 I live in Finland and i can say that yes, the nature is great. If i remember it right it's more than 70% woods, which is more than (any?) other country. Culture is changing, and i don't really like the christian culture we have now. Smoke-free? Very opposite. You can't really find a bus stop without the ground covered in tobacco, both snus and cigarettes. I don't have a problem with it, but no, they shouldn't be on the ground. The best of all is the music, no doubt. Best folk metal.

All of them speak finnish so learning swedish isnt mandatory (expect in schools where they teach swedish as a mandatory second language). Never needed swedish in my life and Im living on area with alot of swedish-speaking Finns. And we pay for education with our taxes so all schools are "free" also! :D

From my trip, one thing anyone should know when travelling to Finland during peak wintertime like I did.

An American from the south typically expects the sun to go down around 7:00PM during winter...

In Finland... jet lags gets compounded by a dusk at 4:00PM. It is a funny experience. Your body wants to go to bed so badly at that time...

So to those who want to travel there, be advised of that...

However... one advantage. Stuff closes at 8:00PM.

Meaning: nightlife at 6:00PM!!!

Well, it depends in southern Finland, but I bet that there's snow in Lapland/northern Finland in March.

And I don't really know about cross country skating, but cross country skiing is very popular and there are many places to go. And you should be able to find pretty good place for skating too.
