I saw this tour 2 times in 3 days and he was GREAT solo, He put on a great show and all the songs on this album are great as well. wish he was still recording. this was back in 88? I just went last year to a beat reunion tour and the guy that they used to replace roger Sucked!
I remember buying the LP in about 87 or 88 and thinking it was so much better than most of the music around at the time, but i don't think it sold that well.
Roger was rockin' the old-skool Cosworth Sierra on the track...aces! Seeing this video made me go and unearth this CD. I remember listening to this thing on an endless loop in my car back in 1988 (driving much faster than I care to admit to my kids) along with General Public, Peter Murphy, Morrissey and D.M. God, those were some great times!
I just got Radical Departure in the mail today via Amazon. I forgot how good this solo release was. I didn't release it when it came out in 1988. The three General Public albums were awesome as well. I think I was anti English Beat associated artists then. I believe I was into hip hop at that time. Blah.
i had to spend the summer overseas in seoul (olympics in 88) so i had to get it on cassette. w/o any new music or radio, i wore this tape out playing it back to front in my walkman... my soundtrack for an entire summer.
I have this album on vinyl, Time To Mek A Dime, killer, So Excited, great, Falling Down, awesome.... But, Mono Gone To Stereo is downright smashing!!!! I totally dig this album and vinyl can't be topped...
There are better songs on the CD, but this is the most pop so I can see why they chose it for a video. I liked this CD, played it out to get over my lack of Beat/GP fix. Thanks for the post!
Oh! man I had this album on cassette up until 2000` or so. I bought it for like .99 cents at a bargain bin in a McCrory`s store in Baltimore. It`s really really good. I think it broke or I just lost it.
Nothing wrong with this video; it fits right into the era. Beautiful Fender Mustang that guitar player has and I believe the bassist is Horace Panter (Specials, General Public). Thanks for the post JADTUBE!
My God, this take me back to the 11th grade! I know I have this on VHS myself from a show called "Post Modern MTV" I look at this and think of how late 1980's this feels in terms of colors, and style. Time to get out that "Hypercolor" T-shirt! Hehehe...
From the movie Blood and Concrete with Billy Zane, Jennifer Beals, and Mark Pellegrino

I love Roger but this promo video is AWFUL. Not his fault thought as 1988-1990 were a dark time for music and fashion.
