what year did they start putting on the governor? My '99 original hits over 135 (too scared to go faster) without a hitch, tho i can't rev the engine in park too hard, it automatically cuts it back- wonder if it's modified, i bought it used, LOVE the car, love the autostick.
i think they started slappin governors on around 2001,2002. It also depends on who owned the car. Some folks want to see what the vehicle can do,there for,disable the governor. What you're talkin bout in park is the rev limiter. Keeps you from blowing the motor up in park if you accidently slap the gas pedal to the floor while searching for money in your back pocket.
ive had a conversion van up to 115. it couldnt go no faster. That Envoy's rather stable at 110 though. You can do quick lane changes and the thing doesnt body roll.
i have this little webcam stand with rubber feet. It keeps the cam level and doesnt slide around. Sat it on my dashboard basically wedged within the windshield. RPMs on the highway? depends on the speed. at 55mph,it's around 1,800 or so. at 65 its about 2,000. at 75, its around 2,200. at 135,it's only pulling 4,500rpms. Dam good car.....too bad i had to take'er back to the dealer.

this one wasnt governed for some odd reason. My Envoy is governed at 110mph...which sucks since i was keeping pace with a Mustang until i hit 110.

Nice video, the camera is very still, where you mount that camera?. Thats a nice car, what rpms does that car do on the freeway?
