  • Hey!

May I ask what editing-program your using?

I use Sony Vegas 10 pro and i can't find a way to make the video 5 times as fast...

Nice video by the way, crazy skills! (:

  • @citrynjuice Hi, thanks. I used Vegas 8.0 for this video.

    Two ways I know:

    - Hold Ctrl while you click and hold left mouse button at the edge of a clip. Then drag to increase/decrease its speed. The wider you drag the clip, the slower its playback. The smaller you drag the clip, the faster its playback.

    - Right-click on a clip > Properties > Change 'Playback rate'. The higher the value, the faster the playback. 4.000 (4x) is the fastest you can go.

Tell me if this was what you needed to know.

  • @ZuperKim90

Ehrm, I guess that this movie was made in the way that g-man did his?

But how on earth did you speed things down 5 times?! :P

In Vegas 10, as you say, you can only speed things up 4x in properties when you right-click...

And if you do it the other way, as you stated... Holding down Ctrl and drag the clip, it will stop at four times as fast aswell, so that doesn't work either...

But thanks anyway, please tell me if you find a way! :P

    1. Record in-game replay, 0.2x speed, with Fraps (or any other video-recorder). Let's say you record in 20 fps.

    2. Open VirtualDub(free program) and open the avi file. Video > Framerate... > "Change frame rate to (fps)"

Type in the frame rate of the avi you recorded with Fraps BUT multiplied with 5.

    20 x 5 = 100 ... type in 100 as a value for "Change frame rate to (fps)"

    3. File > Save as AVI (it will not lose quality - uncompressed) Done. Import that .avi into Vegas.

  • @ZuperKim90

    I will try this out.

    Thank you!

  • holy crap you got skills

  • @MrLufugful Thanks

  • Nice.

  • how much time did u spend getting the footage out of the theater mode into the editor, and then getting the lowerfootage for soundtrack? for this whole movie. Did u just do it in segments? only record the frags in the clips?

  • @89MEDIAI followed gman318's tutorial, look at Video Responses below this video.

It's difficult to say how much time it took to record all that footage... A lot of time is spent on looking through the replay cus' you can't skip forward in Theatre Mode. etc.

I'm not sure what specifically you're asking. I use Fraps to record video, and I only record the frags, not the whole replay (recording high quality footage takes a lot of harddrive space).

  • @ZuperKim90 great job btw :)

  • @m1ndify Thanks :)

  • awesome vid man!! Just a question.. did you record this vid on a PC? :o I mean the frag clips or was it on a console?

  • @Menhsa Hey, thanks!

    On PC, with Fraps.

  • @ZuperKim90 ahh ok but did you record the demos on half speed (and high quality) and then speed up the video in your editor program?

  • @Menhsa I played the replay at 0.2x speed while recording. Then sped up the video in VirtualDub(free program), multiplied by 5, to get normal speed. You can speed up video in video editors too.

  • Sweet vid man, nice editing too .

  • @TheGamerRadio Thanks!! :)

  • Even though the clips were not amazing, this was one of the best (montage) fragmovie I have ever seen. Great editing and it just appears so nicely. Very nice work

  • @OppositeSynonyms Not all frags are spectacular in this vid, but some are quite rare I must say. But I agree, most of the frags aren't anything special.

I'm glad you like the editing! It will be better in my next fragmovie/montage, because when I made this one I spent a lot of time on learning and experimenting with the program instead of editing.

Thanks for the great compliment, it means a lot!

  • @ZuperKim90 I totally understand because I can never get good clips because I'm always in a good moment at a bad time meaning there may be 5 enemies right in front of me an i need to reload. I can't wait 'till you release the next one! I might buy black ops for the pc soon (I play on Xbox) so if I ever do I'd like to add you. :)

  • @OppositeSynonyms We all have those opportunities, it feels bad when you screw up, I know :P

I have got many good frags before and after the time I created the fragmovie. The frags in the video are from a short time-span, but I play quite a lot.

My next fragmovie/montage might include other players too.

If you get it on PC, feel free to add me on Steam. :)

  • 123 views :D nice vid dude!!

  • @dieFlachZang3 Cool :)

    Thank you!

  • Epic job mate! Great to see that the tutorial works. We should work together sometime!

  • @gman318 Thanks a lot! Glad you like it.

    Yeah, why not :)
