@GRonnoc Well, this isn't bad by any means, but being a MIDI sequencer myself, I just think it would have been better to do it yourself regardless. Unfortunately, the rest of the YouTube community would probably disagree. (Like you said, if you don't have much of an ear for this stuff, there may be some wrong notes.) It just bugs me that a lot of people just copy notes from MIDI files into Mario Paint. I mean, what's the point of Mario Paint Composer if you don't use it for it's unique style?

@KingYakko well it's not just copying notes, there are plenty of decisions I made in terms of instrumentation and that can make ALL the difference when it comes to the end product of the song. I also didn't copy the full midi, parts of it I changed a bit - and of course there's the limit of 5 notes a beat mario paint has....but I get what you're saying. Though it's hardly worth it because this is 2 years old and I don't use mario paint anymore.

Frankly, anyone who is skilled enough probably does not have that kind of time available to do it. :P

@Goatmon But that wasn't my point. Why copy the MIDI if it's going to sound the same as the MIDI itself, but with less notes because of MPC's limitations? It's ok to use MIDI as reference so you don't have to do everything yourself, but what's the point of MPC if it doesn't sound like anything new? Why not sequence a MIDI (which is much easier, might I add) and not have these limitations? I sequence entire orchestral MIDIs so I do know this. MPC seems to be for the "Look what I did!" factor now.

I am... astonished. You milked the Real sound font for all it's worth, and the result was fantastic. One of its best parts about this is the "full" sound you give it; every use of the instruments is helpful in contributing to that. You also avoided the harsh transfer of notes without bending them, something that takes a lot of skill to do. (An example of this is at 1:05 w/ the Shy Guys.)

A clear indication that it's not fake is that whenever there are chords, the notes don't end at the same time. The way mario paint works, higher notes are also shorter, so notes in chords always end at different times.

It's very obvious on the very first note of the whole song!

how to change the soundfonts?

Once you get the soundfont file, you put it in the mario paint folder and change the name of the file to "soundset3" AFTER moving the original soundfont file somewhere else (i just rename mine "original"). Once you chance the name, mario paint doesn't know the difference, it'll just use whatever file is named that.
