i love how this version differs from the others in that it's more peaceful and it kind of makes you imagine the lovely landscapes of africa; don't get me wrong, i love the other versions of this song a lot, but this one's a definite fav!

WTF are everyone saying this song is about a dead king. lion is the king in the jungle and when they say its sleeping they actually mean its dead which means when the lion dies, it means the king is actually dead in the villeage. its a song with a deep meaning you'll know if you hear the real African version

You have no idea how much I wanna be there where the kings of the jungle livin' their lives in true freedom with no cages to life sentence them like in the so called Zoo. I know though that many people try to help them the wildlife animals as a good protection but still, I don't go to the Zoo at all. It's sad. I can't look them in the eye.

I agree with you 100 %. It's so depressing to see a wild animal behind bars, it's born free. And a lion in a cage isn't even a true lion. To see a real magnificent lion, you have to see it in the wilds of Africa, that's why I'd love to go on a safari one day.
