I remember when these guys where getting a lot of attention here in the states.Forget the guitarists name but I remember he Rock's!.very similar to Stryper.Same time frame.

@hicks727 Come on man.....this smokes...This is a superb hooky riff with a blistering solo and Akira is a monster player. Their heavier stuff is even better, especially from their early days. And Europe IS quality, good singer, good production, good musicianship, and good hooks. You just don't like pop metal and take every opportunity to take a piss on the genre. Just as I don't miss an opportunity to rip Nirvana and the Grateful Dead and some of those other talentless frauds you like so much.

@clstrat939 I think this is essentially what we are arguing about.Europe. You see Europe with it's good singer(questionable), good production, good musicianship, good hooks and call it quality. But good production, good musicianship,and good hooks doesn't make it good and in Europe's case it makes it unlistenable. Bad writing and ball less, gutlless music. And I do like Pop Metal like Sweet or Red Kross. But Europe?? I'll say it again ...come on man .

Europe isn't musical filet mignon or duck l'orange or pheasant under glass, they're musical cotton candy. They're snack food, not meant to fill you up or give you vitamins and nutients, so to speak. But they do a darn good job of making the cotton candy and both John Norum and Kee Marcello are superb players. They're a nice place for a short visit, but I don't want to live there.

@hicks727 The Final Countdown got put in the crosshairs of VH1, those moronic comics who pepper their countdown shows, and the trade magazines as indicative of the 80s- big hooks, bigger hair, and spandex. I'm in the media. I work with these people and I can tell you they hate the 80s first for geo-political reasons that carry into their music analysis. They have contempt for the decade (outside of REM). If the song had no video, or been done in the 90s, it would not have come under attack.

The Poisons,Dokkens,Extremes,Crues,Slaughters,Whams(Wham was well produced had hooks with quality musicians..do you like them?) owe their entire careers to MTV. As far as Rush goes???/ What can I say. Probably started listening to him in the early 90's when the rethugs(sorry) took control of the House and Senate(both right?) first time in 40 years I think.

the first time I saw them opening band for TNT then STRYPER,only few people know they were and the audiance pretty much laugh when they got on the stage,UNTIL AKIRA AND THE BOYS STARTED TO PLAY "CRAZY NIGHT" the place went wild.same thing happened with TNT;specially the 3 guitars solo.
