I'm so impressed by your great performance, George, not only this piece but all the clips you've uploaded. I try not to compare, but I really have to say that Aristo Sham has far much better musical sense than you, and this must be one of the reasons why he won the first prize of Gina Bachauer International Junior Piano Competition. Of course I dont mean you're not good. You're absolutely talented and you can do tricks that I cant do.
@s056870 I suggest you watching Aristo's Danzas Argentinas and Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon in Miami Piano Festival, and his Beethoven Concerto No.1 with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (which you've also uploaded onto Youtube), if you havent done so yet. With no doubt, you've incredible techniques. I hope you can try closing your eyes and listen to these three pieces played by Aristo and feel the differences. Support you! ALL THE BEST!!!
woahhh, ok now i'm impressed that you can do better than me as a young kid. I am 14 this year, and I am just learning it, but my starting rotation thingy is still very muddled. And... the glissandos are GREAT! they are very distinct and I really cannot do it very well. The middle notes all fade away... AMAZING JOB DONE!
That was an exciting performance! Bravo! What are you, about 10!? Not easy for such a small hand, but you sure get around it's difficulties alright! Love your spirit!
Just one little suggestion. Do NOT call it the artful herdsman! If your going to translate it, try Argentinian cowboy.
Muy bien, muy bien . . . . Pero al igual que muchos otros, robóticos, no sentimentales. Es pianista, otros guitarristas, etc. Pocos músicos en mi opinión. Pero la verdad, increible y de habilidad hablando, espléndido ...!
I've heard the title interpretated as "Dance of the Cunning Cowboy", so I play it like a western-coyboy shootout/horse chase/that sort of thing.
You have great virtuosity! 0:40-0:58 and 2:10-2:22 are very hard sections to get clean. I'm sure you do already, but do lots and lots of slow practice! Also, I sacrifice speed to make phrase shaping easier, to give it more of a galloping sound, and to make it cleaner. You have incredible technique.
HHH2O is my friend and he is a Japaness, in Japan as well as in China, people confuse terrific with terrible. I know he means terrific. Thanks for caring so much and for visiting. George
This is simple outstanding!! You got me jumping here! Could you record the Op. 2 II. Danza de la Moza Donosa? That's my favorite. I have played the I and II, never this one! This is and uplifting experience!!
You played the last of the Danzas Argentinas with great facility and a strong sense of forward momentum. These are difficult concert pieces - you are so talented to master one of them at such a young age. Well done!
Well this is not my kind of music, but I duly admire its technicalities and your execution. Good preparation for Bartok! Even some of the more difficult Boogy-Woogy piano music fits with your abilities on the piano!
Dude. I played this piece in highschool, and you do it great justice. I always thought it was a JOY to play.
Have you heard of Ginastera's suite de danzas creoles? I think it's even more beautiful than the danzas argentinas, and a couple of the mvmts are as showy as this.
I'm so glad someone your age can appreciate KICKASS music like Ginastera. amazing work.
ok george.. you know i love your playing.. the sonorities were really super once you got into it.. (the solid major chord in the dance section)... the first part was a little too "drummy".. i know this is being really really hyper-critical of your fine playing.. these are the only comments of critique i can offer.. other than that-- it doesn't get any better than this - congrats!
Dear quapobear, Thank you for the really constructive critique and true encouragement. I think your point is fare and well taken. We really appreciate your professional view and a valuable one!
dude! your techinc and zen are unassailable. listen to 50-cent 'guns 4 sale' 20 or 30 times and your persona will just be that more badass. you will be unstoppable!
Bravo George! This is such a fine performance.
Full of energy and rhythmic vitality - very much the dance of a bandit cowboy.
Ginastera would be so pleased!

I think Ginastera had too much coffee when he composed this! As always, great playing George.
The intro kind of reminds me of Ligeti's Etude No.13 "The Devil's Staircase" without the ascending notes. I like that you play many different styles.
