  • damn thats a pretty big response zone.........i hope its for extra manpower

  • Was it a good size fire or by the time you got there was it out?

  • nice i love roto rays

  • @LinglestownFireCo35 what engine are you on?

  • i <3 the Q

  • the ladder is middletown pa it has class b foam and a 150ft areal ladder it can hold a crew of 6 witch is not a lot. It is a 1993 mack. Middletown just got a new 2011 seagrove witch is pretty wicked.

  • Ok i dont know how that federal survived and its better to have to much equipment then not enough

  • love the q!!!!!!!

  • holy crap that's a lotta Q

  • whats the thing spining on the front ???

  • @1DirtbikeBoy it's the rotoray

  • @themooseisontheloose thanks but is it for decoration or does it really help ???

  • @1DirtbikeBoy i can telly ou this it's not for decoration. i'm not real familiar with the roto ray light besides the fact that it's another warning light on the truck. personally i'm not a real big fan of it

  • @themooseisontheloose o wow i thought it was, its pretty strage because i only see the stations in my district use them during the holidays and around independence day.

  • @1DirtbikeBoy nope just aother warning device. my grandfathers ladder truck has one of those things

  • @themooseisontheloose o wow i thought it was, its pretty strange because i only see the stations in my district use them during the holidays and around independence day.

  • nice roto ray

  • nice vid, but, how can you deal with that annoying siren every time you are going to an emergency?

  • no its not annoying, sirens are fun to play with@Zantozzzz

  • I couldnt hear, was progress on that call? I heard edgemont get put on available, couldnt hear if they said 32 or 30

  • nvm, just replay'd and heard truck 32

  • This video from 0:20-0:40 is featured on 'Siren Sounds and Ringtones' on Android Marketplace. Thank you Sancron Ringtones for using it!

  • Loving the rotoray

  • Great job guys. Thank you to all Fire Fighters for what you do!

  • I don't like the Rotating lights on the front. They just never appealed to me.

  • damn that q sounds good

  • Nice video!

(Is that meant to be an english themed pub at 0:18?)

  • What is that spinning thing on the front called?

  • @pashastookie It is called a Roto-Ray.

  • @renegade3552 Cool! thanks for the update

  • Any one know what it means to be put in service? I hear it all the time.

  • @dieselpower7789 - Being put back in service means that the truck is available to respond to another emergency. If they had actually gone to the fire and worked, once all of their equipment was put back onto the truck and they were released from the scene they would call and report that they are back in service.

  • Nice ! Love the fact that the ladder is in front of the engine !

  • The sirens in this video are so beautiful I almost started tearing up while I was watching.

  • @ canadianboy40

Sorry most US departments don't have the extra cash to waste on a GD helicopter when they can barely afford to staff their departments.

  • @Toysoldier55 99.9% of the time, the fire department doesn't own a helicopter! For a medical call, they call for an air ambulance service (PHI, CareFlite, LifeFlight), and for a fire, state and US forest service.

  • Damn I love "Q's".. I hate being on an Ambulance, no one moves for you.

  • i wonder how fast this dept goes through Q's and alternaters lol

  • lots and lots of Q

  • @badboy12firefighter I agree with you 100% brother.

  • i love the sound of them blairing sirens and airhorns makes our british fire trucks sound wimpy

  • i cant wait till i get to do a ride along for a day.. not here though.

  • got cancelled during response?

  • gotta love good old dauphin county

  • I love the scenery at 2:43

  • Did I hear on the radio that this fire was in the Teraces? I think i remember this one. I live less than a quarter of a mile from that location.

  • holy cow that was a long drive! appreciate you guys though, huge peace of mind to know help is just minutes away if something goes wrong

  • @Macade76

This is in Lower Paxton Township in Dauphin County, PA, USA. There are three volunteer companies that cover the twp and this run was into another's coverage area. I had an incident about 9 years ago and the response of the Linglestown and other companies was amazing. I was around 2 miles away and they were on scene in no time. Everything was ok. I had a malfunctioning wood stove.

  • Damn, i've never seen people move out of the way so quickly!!, i guess they saw the big ass ladder coming, and then were like "oh shit" and saw an engine haha

  • very nice

  • They are actually called roto-gays

  • it's called a roto ray

  • and what's a roto ray?

  • wats the spinney thing in the bottom centre of the windsheild??????????????????????

  • Cars pulling up onto the median at 3:00 FTW!!! I will never see anything like that here in California. I damn near pull my hair out and have an aneurysm every time I respond, and all I drive is a Tahoe. Can't imagine a rig like that. Props to the driver for some serious skills.

  • A lot of those people bring it on themselves when they wont pull to the right and let us pass safely.

  • what the hell all that for nuthin ! you spend 5+min rushing thru traffic and then 10 sec before you arrive they dont need ya ida been pissed sumone gets an ass beating for that one

  • Someone needs an ass beating because they decided to ask for additional resources even though they may not be needed? You obviously dont work in emergency services, its called being prepared. Any time we get a county call for anything serious like an MVC or chest pain, we always launch a helicopter, so when we get on scene and need them, theyre 5 minutes away, instead of 30. You dont play around when it comes to peoples lives.

  • Or they can do a quick sasesment, call for backup, and reassess the situation, and disregard aditional resources if necessary, instead of being 10 minutes in the hole.

  • better to have them coming and not need them than not have them coming and need them

  • same here, we are like 25 min by ground from the closest hospital but like 4 by bird. As for fire we always get people on the road if there is any possibility of a fire.

  • a chopper for chest pains? geez. we get chest pain calls almost daily, sometimes a few times a day. how many runs you guys get yearly?

  • @canadianboy40, you obviously dont live close to any airports or anything for that matter or else you wouldnt need to waste valuable resources like helicopters

  • @byrdienvfd Actually, there are 2 airports within 25 miles, but that has absolutley nothing to do with launching a medical helicopter for a patient....

  • @canadianboy40 Completely correct! Hell, the chopper crews tell us "Launch us, we have to keep up our flight hours somehow!"

  • @canadianboy40. Geeze, we call for a Med-Flight like two or three times a year, and you make it sound like you call for one every call. Ours however comes out of Boston, and we're down on Cape Cod, not cheap to use it, Only when they're critical do we call, and they fly to Mass. General. Our hospital on Cape though is one of the top hospitals on the east coast.

  • @JHogg3978 We dont call for an aircraft on every call? We request air transport when its neccesary for the patient, we have 8 helicopters within a 35 minute response area, its a very plentiful resource

  • @canadianboy40 dam the only time we fly a chooper is if there critical we have three chopers pennstar life lion and sky care holy hell all three of the are an hr away and sometimes there about a min out just as we start seting up dam

  • @canadianboy40 dam the only time we fly a chooper is if there critical we have three chopers pennstar life lion and sky care holy hell all three of the are an hr away and sometimes there about a min out just as we start seting up dam

  • @canadianboy40 are u a moron im a firefighter ok and we all ways do that ! just becuze we might not need them means nothing ok cuz in life fire doze not play games like u little punk ass idiot arsonest shut up

  • @canadianboy40 your dum im a fire fighter and we all ways bring back up for a reson cuz ! fighting a fire is not as ezy as u may think idiot your probly a arsonest anyway so shut up

  • @442dylan Obviously you didnt read the comment, and if i were you, i would learn how to spell basic words, like "dumb", before you make yourself look like an even bigger moron than what you are. I happen to be a Critical Care Paramedic, and Registered Nurse, so believe it or not, i have far more experience than your small town volunteer fire fighter ass. Good try rain man.

  • @canadianboy40

I agree its better to have the resources comming and not need them than to not have them comming when you need them the most.

  • @canadianboy40 how about your a moron becuz i do and we all ways ask for resources all the time idiot get a life and learn to know what your talking about retard ! ok !

  • @442dylan Don't call me a moron, your grammar skills are far too poor!! And dont tell me i don't know what i;m talking about, I have more experience and knowledge than you could ever hope for.

  • @canadianboy40 lol your so stupid a cow is smarter then you little fag so stfu 12 year old!

  • we just got a new pierce saber pumper. we have roto ray lights on it. its awesome until somone forgets to turn it off at the scene and you to to get the trash line and it knocks the shit outta you

  • they got there for 5 mins! amazing :D!!! and great driver

  • The guy driving tower truck, Great Driver! I was amazed how well he drove that rig.

  • I agree; that's a real wheelman drivin' that ladder....

  • wow your tower truck is amazing

  • How can you say that about a firefigters driving abilities? thats disrespectful as hell

  • hey i have an idea let them respond the way they want to and you can respond the way you want to, everyone is different

  • Both of you are partially correct is the issue. Yes they need to get there fast however they must do so safely.

  • You must be safe.

Better the place burn to the ground than people get killed or injured en route.

People have died from fire trucks en route to whaturned out to be a false alarm or situation like this where it was determined they were not needed.

  • that is how you go to a fire loud as fuck make your presence known

  • I prefer spinning propeller of doom lol

  • Q is the only way to respond to a fire.. just the way it screams

  • Killer sweet until u guys get cancled..

  • Y do some trucks have a q and others dont? dont they all come with one?

  • no a Q is a type of siren, the company has to purchase it sepreatly

  • Ah, k, im new to firefighting, and i noticed our ladder has a q and our heavy rescue dosn't, i was just wondering y that was, thank you.

  • no problem, i know a station like that, wat station r u a part of?

  • One up in NY

  • oh i live in PA

  • I love that high shrill of the Q.

  • My elementary school at 4:20!

  • The Eagle Hotel at :39. It must have been Sunday if there were no cars in the lot.

  • After all that it was called off?

  • An excellent video !! Need to keep distance from truck in front of you. Great job of concentration and focus!

  • THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL

  • now that's how you use a Q!

  • That q sounds sooo good! it sends chills down my spine

  • duhhhhhhh

  • Q <3

  • you people got a fucking nice ladder there i wish are city could afford that but are mayor is to keep we got a bronto sky lift and one thats tower and ladder is hella tihgt

  • what is that thing spinning. a fan?

  • Roto-Ray.

  • alot of fire departments have roto-rays on the front of each engine and truck company, but some fire dept's don't.

  • Air conditioning Unit.

  • u guys got a nice aerial. saty safe

  • It's to give a general direction or general location of the address. So if I don't know where the address is, the box tells me what part of the town it is in at least - so it's easier to use the maps and such.

  • Box is to localize a location within a township or town. The way it is in my town is, let's say our township number is 32, we have boxes 20-22, so "Station 32, box 22, 144 Anylane Way, possible structure" lets us know what side of the town it is in to respond to a certain firehouse (if it's closer).

  • awesome video & excellent driving

    thanks for posting! stay safe

  • niiiccee siren work on the q

  • just like normal, almost get there. Not a working fire holding 1 engine and truck everyone else can go in service

  • Nice driving at 1:48

  • good video. only if they had a powercall....

  • If a siren clears the way its good? who cares bout how it sounds?

  • i would love you forever if you can get me the sound file for this video! no homo

  • go on google and download a program called audicity, its free. when you open the program, find the sound imput pull down list. select "mono out" . Find this video. hit record on audicity(the big red button) and then start to play this video. there ya go!

  • How do you operate your air horn?

  • its a pull cord or button

  • O thanks

  • gotta love the roto ray

  • Man there is nothing better than Wail and a GREAT SOUNDING Q!!! Best sound in the world if you ask me. Still trying to get one for our engine.

  • yea dude, run that Q man

  • some ny trucks still hav the fake Q like in the new rescue 1 it hase a real Q and they use it but yea fdny cant realy use Q bc to loud but i say BURN UP THE Q BABBY RUN IT ALL THE WAY TO THE SCENE

  • Man I LOVE that sound!!!

  • Long run for this one!

  • where i live we didn't have a Q until about 4 or 5 years ago and now you can hear them coming unlike the standard siren and blow horn that you can only hear like a half block away.

  • The louder the Q and powercall the farther people can hear you coming resulting in less traffic accidents.

  • powercalls rule!@

  • everyone is entitled to their opinon...

  • Opinions cant be wrong.

  • no they cant, look it up. im not gonna argue anymore... your obviously obsessed, for goodness sake your USERNAME is powercalls suck, LOL

  • @PowercallsSuck29 powercalls dont suck, and they dont sound like back up alarmsa lot of companys where i live use them and i swear they move traffic better then the Q at times.

  • I bet he has a power call hooked up to his reverse lights, yeah that's it. LOL j/k :p

  • use em both

  • hey guys this is a cumberland station 10 guy. damn u guys are awsome never left off the q. i like the truck we run a stick here. but keep on kickin ass and takin names. from all of us here at new cumberland station 10 be safe out there and give em hell 35!!!!!!

  • Glare or reflection during a snowstorm tends to be a problem with the roof mounted warning lights. The clear bulb's sweeping patterns on a roof mounted unit tends to interfere with visibility through the windshield. The Roto Rays unit, being located on the nose of the truck, does not have this problem.

Roto Rays warning light unit is made up of 3 sealed beam lights which rotate in a vertical plane at 200 RPM.

The Roto Rays units are claimed to have been in use for the past 65 years

  • In New York, they banned the Q because it echoes off the walls of the building and it " damages" civilian's Hearing. It's loud. Some other cities says it's too loud and it reached over the legal rate.

Power call is really loud also. So there are restrictions.

The Rotor Ray, money money money.

    There are certain

  • Run that Q baby!!! :>)

  • There are laws for siren usages.

  • YEah ok...and what's your point?

  • whats the point of the roto ray thingy?

    how does it work?

  • well um... i meant most big fire departments

  • I noticed that small or some volunteer fire departments have powercall and have the roto ray thing

big fire departments like toronto, new york etc... dont have them

    why is that?

  • Washington DC has the light spinners and powercalls.

  • Tell little Coe that he should put a powercall in "his" tower since that's his "baby"

  • im a vollie we have q's all apparatus in my town has it except for command and medicals and brush trucks

  • Believe it or nor we had a Rotoray come off whilst responding...sumbitch flew about 50 feet off into the side of the road... couldnt find it after the call...lol

  • HAHA! lol...someone did a faulty install XD

  • LOL..yeah Ill say. We had to report the damage and the other 5 or 6 trucks in the dept. had to take em' off... at least no one was hurt...

  • i hate it when people dont pull over but nice video

  • it loooks like it was a long drivw to the fire for theses 2 responding apparatus

  • Sick video Man love the Q STAND ON IT!!!!

  • can i ask why you turn the sirens and lights off towards the end?

  • They cancelled the responding units as the call was under control

  • Sick Video I love seeing the truck and Engine running in tandem... I love bug grinders the're amazing; electronic sirens should die. you guys paid, vollies, or combo dept? Just got a Pierce 105 Quint and I dont think that we've used the Wail tones since we got it dont even know if they works.. Mechanic and Air are the craptacular

  • i live in linglestown

  • I love the sound of horns:)))!!!

  • that engine must have a pin wheel light on the front you can see something spinnin
