@pumphouse00 hAHA very funny i like how ignorant assholes like you come along and troll the shit out of videos with your caps on and stupid comments. quit being stupid and run along child.
It's 3:30 December 30th 2011. 36 degrees out and I'm goose hunting off my back porch and there are about 1000 geese on the lake across the road from my hunting land... I'm feeling lucky. Great vid btw
For calls, a couple guys were blowin TG, Zink Money maker and Zink Paralyzer. Prob a couple others as I didnt know a couple of the guys that were on this hunt. For decoys we used about 7 dozen GHG shells, fullbodies and FFDs mixed around our blinds in a "U" shape.
If by shells you mean decoys, we were using the avery progrades. If by shells you meant gun loads, I personally used Kent 3" 2 shot, the rest of the clan I cannot remember.
Awesome video guys. Good shootin! Got some good looking dogs there too. I'm not sure there is anything better than big canadas locking into the decoys
I wish I could help man. Those 2 dogs were from 2 different guys on this hunt. I know both spent a lot of time with them but no clue how the training went down.
@badassmuder25 go to ultimate retriever com Mike lardy is the fucking man. You can purchase his 4 disc set its pricey but if you want to do the work yourself this is the way to go. He is very thorough with his techniques and this is important because its gonna be training you to train your dog. Hope this helps and good luck!
Haha thank you! I cant wait for the season to come around again this fall. A typical honker weighs 8-11 pounds. I think the biggest goose I have seen was prob 12 or so.
I honestly dont think I say anything into the call. Its just a variation of tones and air you control with your tongue that gives all the different sounds. Everyone blows a goose call different tho so some people might say something into the call when they use it.
No this was in southern Iowa. Only two of my youtube hunts are in Nodak. The diver duck one and the mallard and pintail hunt. Otherwise everything else is in Iowa.
exelent aim .when these bullets fall dont they passibly kill a human ,and wouldnt it be less pain if its shot in the head and dead on arrivel or catcht alive and done painless slouhter with a very very smooth knife like i did it kosher not kosher style, noting like it by a believing jew and knowlegbel in jewish shechite laws
Hey Scott. I use my old Final Approach X-lander with flappy doors to film from. I dont like using a tripod when field hunting so this enables me to get my elbows out of the blind while still laying down and really increases my range of motion with the camera. I use a cut piece of camo burlap to cover the cam. I do use a fluid head tripod occasionally when hunting in taller cover such as cattails but I find that Im better and can track birds more efficiently without one.
Not sure what everyone was using. Ranged from 2 shot to BB in both 3 inch and 3 1/2 inch between everyone. I had Kent 3 inch 1 shot in for this one if I recall.
GREAT video, fellas. I love the shots of the distant approaches. For a guy new to goose hunting (like myself), seeing how you work the birds from far out is priceless. I'm doing my self-arranged first field hunt tomorrow and you guys gave out some great ideas for setup and calling technique in this video. Thanks a lot for posting this.
Hey I'm looking into buying a new goose/duck gun. What do you guys suggest I should get? Money isn't really a problem. I'm willing to save up for something really nice. Thanks.
I would look into getting either a Banelli M2 or Super Black Eagle or a Browning Maxus. All are superb guns and shoot well. Winchester SX3's hold their own too. Shoulder them at the store and see which one fits you best. Hope this helps
Enjoyed the heck out of it. Great editing, as well as camera work. The dogs work it, I wish my dog was that reliable, she stops 20 feet from me and chomps on the wings. Keep em coming.
Yeah we,ve got quite a few if you are interested. My roommate and a buddy of mine have a decent amount of progrades and lessers for sale. Email me at nickjohnson04@gmail.com and we can talk details. Thanks
We used about 7 dozen on this hunt if I remember right. Only because so many birds were fedding in the field and so many guys were hunting. Usually get away with less in Iowa.

@SuperCharged187 ok thanks, i was trying to pattern my gun and was considering buying kent. i bought winchester xpert in number 2 and at 30 yards i got spots i can fit my hands in.
Im really not sure on that. I know Eric and Jake, owners of the two dogs utilized multiple dummies thrown and marked by the dog when they trained them. Google it and im sure you will find good info on the training part. Good luck!
Thanks a ton! I appreciate hearing that. I plan to have some good footage after this next season for waterfowl. I am still a college student so time is the limiting factor to get out and film good hunts. I have a cool turkey hunt and a bowfishing for carp video coming soon. You would love those if you liked this one. Ill keep the vids coming as long as I can.
