It's so easy to slip into doubt and despair, but not so easy if we cut the weeds that choke out our priorities (Mark 4:19) and our spiritual growth and give attention each day to the things of God. Whatever thier origin may be doesn't the fact that other religions exist cause a problem for the concept of free will? I mean, if one is born into another culture in a far away land where nobody has heard of Christ or the Bible then how could they be expected to make an informed choice? Colonial Hall Care Center in Princeton received members from the Princeton Branch with open arms. The members brought board games, storybooks and coloring books to entertain the center's elderly residents for three hours. Several residents read storybooks to the younger children while the older children read to the residents. The Normal 2nd Ward helped make Constitution Trail, a 24-mile hard surfaced nature trail, cleaner for walkers and bikers alike. The ward focused a one-mile stretch of trail that runs near Underwood Park by picking up trash in that area.

Thank you! I was recently vexed by the wickedness around me and the coming trials that we were warned of and the message of Zion was what the Spirit chose to whisper to my heart. I was assigned to give a message at a branch activity and it was this message that I felt impressed to share. I shared

Elder Christoferson's talk and I felt very strongly impressed that Zion is our only protection. We need to be a truly Zion people to abide the day.

The verse in 2 Nephi has many LDS strings of doctrine attached to it. This is not what the Bible says.

The Bible says it is by FAITH you are saved, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

LDS doctrine boasts of the works that must be done. This doctrine has the members think that self worthiness and oridinances save people. They do not!

Jesus saves people and it is HIS righteousness that gives us salvation.

For me, Ephesians 2:8-9 are clear if we refer to the Greek meaning and substitute the word sacrifice for the word gift. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the sacrifice of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Repentance and acts of service are necessary before Christ allows his atonement to cleanse us, but works have nothing to do with the actual removal of sin.

Grace is a free gift. Acts of service or duties or your own worthiness cannot save you.
