Too many people look for literal meaning in each lyric, each line, each song. Adam fathered this after his emergency back surgery....it truly speaks to me of a man who has looked death in the face and is broken and batter, and is pondering everything in his life. Jesse wrote the lyrics, and therefor took that theme and infused his own introspections. It's nothing more than a perspective of life.

For as much as i love Howard, this is not the place to talk about him. This is a Times of Grace song, which is Jesse and Adam. Now, as far as i'm concerned, all the songs on the album are lyrically and instrumentally superb. With Adam doing ALL the instrumentals and Jesse bringing his excellent voice and scream to the album, it is all over incredible. Though Adam started writing the lyrics, you can tell that alot of them where Jesse's. All the shit he went through comes out in this album.

I think the reason a lot of people prefer Jesse over Howard, myself included, is because Jesse is able to paint a picture of 2 separate sides to a situation. Ex: Hate and love. He also emphasises this through the use of screams for the negativity and clean vocals for positive lyrics (not all the time, but a lot of the album is like that).

That's not to say that Howard is able to paint a story in your mind as well, because he can...really well I might add. Both are great singer though =).

lol, that's a major assumption that everyone hates black people. I've already stated how I feel about Howard, he's great. I prefer Jesse because I feel that he gives it his all when writing/performing songs. I also find his lyrical content much deeper than Howard's. No offence, just a preference. ;)

I cant stop listening to Times of Grace!! Finally a worthy follow up to Alive or Just Breathing! Howard is a good singer, he just sounds like he is trying to hard. And the lyrical content went straight down the shitter when Jesse left KSE. Howards got nothing on Jesse's writing ability and passion!

What it comes down to is that Jesse had his sound and Howard has his, and they are equally different and equally the same because of this difference. After that being said everyone must make a choice on whom they like. It doesn't effect how good or bad the band is simply by their singer, it just says what kinda singer YOU like.

Then he made Hymn of Mankind in which he demonstrates he is a god amongst men at guitar. Jesse leach hasn't lost a step either.
