  • I was looking at some chainsaw chains in the store earlier this week. The chains are advertised in sizes for the length of the chainsaw they fit (ex. 16" chainsaw). Does that mean the chainsaw chain would be 32"+ long if it were cut into a long chain instead of a loop?

  • @magicster123 They go on bar size as you say. A 16" bar would have a greater length chain than 32" cuz of the bends in the bar and the sprocket diameter. Good observation. If you are looking to buy a chain for this I would say to look for the shorter chains, since you will be cutting it anyway.

  • But i love that chainsaw as it´s really powerful for cutting very effectively! Again great job there bro!

  • Good job there brother! I thought i´d be cold there by now but I see your still wearing a tshirt! Is it cold tolerance or just late winter?? Good video and take care hermano!

  • @giutoniolo This is actually an older video i made long ago. Are you that far behind on my videos? :P lol Thanks for the comment hermano!

  • @HollowForm222 WOW 10/08/2010!!! Im sure not that behind on your videos bro! LOL But that one I had missed and YT showed it to me as a recent update of yours (or so I thought) but then I realized your wearing a tshirt and the bugs and green and then I figured it was a video you had shot in the summer but hadnt uploaded. Here in Brazil it´s always green so for us it wont make much difference when you shoot it. It´s either rainny and green or dry and greenish throughout the year! Lol

  • im in the process of making one of them. Just wondering does it matter what brand saw chain I buy?. Is there some that cut better then others?.

  • @Vi3tSurvivalist2012 I would say the brand doesn't matter as much as the type. I made this out of a "low drag, low kickback" chain if i remember correctly. If you get a very aggressive chain I imagine you would have a hard time pulling it, because it will want to take out too much material at one time. I suggest doing some homework on types of chains and then make a decision. If you need more info PM me.

  • I bought one of those several years ago from Harbor Freight. It had a piece of flat steel secured to one end at the ring, so with a rope added, the steel tag would fall to the bottom and make the chain lay with the teeth TOWARD the limb. then the other end of the rope was tied to the opposite ring. The one I purchased had 100 feet of yellow 1/4" rope attached, to get a limb 50' up. I think I paid something like $30.00 for the set. It came with a canvas bag & a belt loop. It worked pretty well!

  • Use glows..

  • @KrapylN HUH?

  • If you add rope to each end and a small sand bag you will have a "High limb rope saw" You throw the weight over a tree branch that is about 18 feet high and you tug on the lines to cut it down. Never stand under it when cutting.

  • @moofushu I like that idea. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm so making one of these lol

  • @FabioCrow07770 Great!! The one thing I suggest is that you use a low drag chain. The others in my opinion would dig too deep too fast, but then again, I haven't tried that kind of chain....okay who's gonna make the video of the high drag "chain" saw?!

  • Great idea. Who the hell steals a man's chainsaw? That just isn't right.

  • @bisquik3006 It's a long story. If I ever find out who stole it I am going to dismember them with it. Bastards.

  • Thats a fantastic idea bro, I love it, gonna have to go get me a chain and make one of my own!! Great vid bro!!

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Thank you very much!!
