It is now because they moved the 7 & 8's from jessie hamilton and george vanier to the top right wing of the high school. george vanier was torn down in december of 2009. you also forgot to mention home hardware the red carpet motel animal hospitals and golf courses
They put a "green school" on the old baseball field. That's too bad. That was a beautiful field when it first opened, but the dugouts would flood every spring. The town from arena north looks the exact same as it did 25 years ago. But the part between "the lights" and "the overpass" is very different with big corporations now part of the landscape and the retirement home.
Vanier is closed down, the green school is up and there is a takeout place in that building near lively district secondary school, which I am a student of, previously going to Vanier.
Love to see it! When Springsteen sings his tune My Hometown I always have and will always think of what a great place Lively was to grow up and be a kid. Hmmm wonder who is in the old house on sixth ave. now? Thanks a bunch.
yo man i lived on that street where that stop sign was on the far right hand side my bro went to that livley secondary school and i went to goerge vanier hated it lol
Good ol' Lively. I went to GVPS years and years ago, and it broke my heart to see that baseball diamond all torn up! And I had to laugh at your comment about the little store next to the school "It's been a convenient store, a fry shop, a donut shop etc." lol. So, true!
ha ha! I used to be hooked on those before I became one of those cigarette smoking people. Ya, we were pretty stupid, took me 14 years to kick that habit.
@fourcody Oh, that's a bit too far back for me lol.I'm only 22 :( But my entire childhood was spent in Lively at that school and spending field trips to Anderson Farm and the Arena. And recesses were spent trying to sneak over to that convenient store(when it was one) ;)
Born in Lively, and I still live here. Only I'm sort of an outsider now living near the start of your movie.
Thanks for posting the video. I was going to do somethimg like that myself. Ohhh the joys of Lively. Anyone can bash it as much as they want, if you grew up here, you probably had a fun time! :P
Good tour of Lively Bowles... if you would of turned down 11 ave ... that's where Catharcyst jams/records etc ... not too much to see in Lively ... it's actually pretty deadly ... hahaha ... a Lively joke!!!
You just about showed our little house...the fourth one down from the front of the highschool!...you missed announcing the Beer Store. I feel that is a key location you have overlooked. Otherwise, good job :) lol
you forgot to mention the golf club...I'm from Sudbury and remember people telling me it was a pretty good course.
The big lakes just north of the city meatbird? and leach? they look like they were destroyed by INCO?? saw them on Google sattelite
