Amazo is better than Dr Manhattan imo. Its like he developed a soul, whereas Dr Manhattan was overcome with his knowledge and calculations. Like he lost all sensibility in what he held dear :/ maybe not but he sure me that impression in the graphic novel

A sentient machine will naturally react the same way any of us humans would react to the situation afterall, they're made by us, taught by us, learn from observing us so naturally they will adopt to behave like us. Enslave, degrade, oppress a sentient machine and it will revolt just like any human would.
Amazo reminds me of Mewtwo here, with all the "what is my purpose?" :) His power here is similar to how they presented Mewtwo in the first Pokemon movie.
Amazo kept getting power from just looking at almost every being in the universe. If it became God-like, now hear me out, would that mean he either went on the other side of the WALL of all existence and survived. Did he find God in that fourth wall which separates them from US? A person is basically a organic machine, their cells and body functions perform tasks like absorbing/transferring nutrients or muscles contracting/relaxing just like pulleys & gears of a machine. The android is a inorganic machine, its parts can be custumized/modified to perform those tasks that they are designed to mimic.
Quite a few of man's machinations are based upon organic functions, from pulleys to an airplane.
I am not over-analyzing, I just want something more. Correction: They ARE too powerful. Anyone on Earth would be corrupted beyond redemption if they had these powers that are depicted in DC comics in general. Instead they show these incorruptable people with no visible character flaws. At least the ones with godlike powers that is.(Superman, Wonderwoman, etc.) They at least were somewhat tolerable. This AMAZO dork? No way. No offence but I watched these shows for awhile and I expect more.

And if you look at the human factor, those Justice Leauge ARE holding the world by the throat by being in the watchtower instead of on Earth. @Ice9joesatriani Well, if you look at the DCAU AMAZO storyline (short as it is), I suppose you could say that the whole point is to show us what happens when our actions spiral out of control. Lex used him as a weapon against the Justice League. AMAZO grew and refused to accept that (short-sighted) purpose. In a way, you're right- he should not be what he currently is. Nobody wanted it that way, but it happened mainly because neither Ivo nor Lex thought things through to their conclusion.

It stands to reason he'd be able to, since Manhattan's powers are just that-- powers.
Superboy-Prime and Alexander were lucky THIS Amazo wasn't around when they decided to screw with Earth and the Multiverse. Or Sinestro and his corps or Nekron and his, for that matter.
If an entity can shift entire worlds by THINKING about it, I don't think punches or energy constructs, no matter how strong, would be able to affect it in the slightest.
Nekron may control death, but this Amazo controls EXISTENCE.
@dagdamor1 Especially if Amazo used his powers to copy Superboy-Prime's level of Kryptonian powers (not that he likely needs them, since likely by this point he's already increased his levels of strength, durability, stamina, and other Kryptonian-equivalent powers to be as far beyond Prime as Prime himself is above others). I'd only remotely bet on the likes of Marvel *cosmic* entities to do more than vaguely annoy this Amazo.
If he copies the powers from one of the Lantern like Ion or Parallax... game over, man. Game friggin' over. Even Superboy Prime was hindered by Superman and the Guardians themselves. Amazo could probably just prevent all yellow sunlight from being absorbed into Prime's cells, teleport him into the middle of a red sun, or just plow through him without stopping like he did to the ENTIRE JLU and GL Corps.

and as for everyone complaining about how amazo is cheap; i'm just getting into the DC but with a pretty strong foothold. i think the idea of a god like robot who could wipe the leauge from existence coming for luthor for revenge is pretty sweet. i don't care how it's impossible for an android to be a god, the fact that it's a robot and not a god with god powers is intimidating. remember DBZ? those androids were a fraction of amazo,

@TheGoldSlime If powers come from biology then think of it this way. A person is basically a organic machine, their cells and body functions perform tasks like absorbing/transferring nutrients or muscles contracting/relaxing just like pulleys & gears of a machine. The android is a inorganic machine, its parts can be custumized/modified to perform those tasks that they are designed to mimic.
Quite a few of man's machinations are based upon organic functions, from pulleys to an airplane.

I am not over-analyzing, I just want something more. Correction: They ARE too powerful. Anyone on Earth would be corrupted beyond redemption if they had these powers that are depicted in DC comics in general. Instead they show these incorruptable people with no visible character flaws. At least the ones with godlike powers that is.(Superman, Wonderwoman, etc.) They at least were somewhat tolerable. This AMAZO dork? No way. No offence but I watched these shows for awhile and I expect more.

@Ice9joesatriani You expected more? From your argument, the Justice League should be holding the world by the throat and basking in their power as they extort all humans. The very IDEA of a superhero is that they use the power they have to ends other than what the average person would. What's more, AMAZO is a machine, and an immortal at that. It has no human desires or needs. Why would it be corrupted? There is NOTHING it needs or wants. There is literally nothing in existence that can tempt it.

And if you look at the human factor, those Justice Leauge ARE holding the world by the throat by being in the watchtower instead of on Earth. There are other episodes that explore that issue and try to resolve it. THAT is the MORE that I expected, not this patchwork crap. AMAZO needs to die. No manmade machine should ever be depicted as that powerful simply by "learning" hero powers.

@Ice9joesatriani My apologies for misinterpreting, although when I said 'holding the world by the throat', I explained afterwards- they do not rule the world and use their powers to enforce it like the Lords did, which is what I meant by that. Anyway, regarding AMAZO- why 'should' it not get that powerful? Simply because it's too powerful and upsets the balance of power? Too late- Imperiex and Nekron exist. Because it's a machine? Does it send a bad message? What is the consequence here?

I suppose there is no REAL consequence since we are talking fiction...but I find that man made creation being made into a Godlike being does not sit well with me. I mean we already fantasize about unrealistic flesh and blood heroes now we are able to fantasize about MAKING a God? I suppose I am overstating facts but while superheroes are entertaining, this was a bit much. IMHO thats all.

@Ice9joesatriani Well, if you look at the DCAU AMAZO storyline (short as it is), I suppose you could say that the whole point is to show us what happens when our actions spiral out of control. Lex used him as a weapon against the Justice League. AMAZO grew and refused to accept that (short-sighted) purpose. In a way, you're right- he should not be what he currently is. Nobody wanted it that way, but it happened mainly because neither Ivo nor Lex thought things through to their conclusion.

At times they seem almost too powerful so then the writers need to find a way to humble them lest they grow too distant. Amazo here is basically a plot device to do this. Oh and super-analyzing stuff like this is the dumb thing to do. Suspend your dis-belief and just watch.

Why does GL tell Dr. Fate to get out of the way? From what they said, the blast would destroy half the planet so why does it matter where Fate stood when they were about to kill everyone just to take out Amazo. Plus there's a pretty good chance Amazo would just walk it off.

Unless Amazo copies Manhattan's powers, just like he did the others...though likely at this point, through this travels and what he had before he started them, Amazo can likely duplicate every trick Manhattan can do, and whatever tricks he cannot, he'd pick up from Manhattan by scanning him. It stands to reason he'd be able to, since Manhattan's powers are just that-- powers.

Superboy-Prime and Alexander were lucky THIS Amazo wasn't around when they decided to screw with Earth and the Multiverse. Or Sinestro and his corps or Nekron and his, for that matter.
If an entity can shift entire worlds by THINKING about it, I don't think punches or energy constructs, no matter how strong, would be able to affect it in the slightest.
Nekron may control death, but this Amazo controls EXISTENCE.

@dagdamor1 Especially if Amazo used his powers to copy Superboy-Prime's level of Kryptonian powers (not that he likely needs them, since likely by this point he's already increased his levels of strength, durability, stamina, and other Kryptonian-equivalent powers to be as far beyond Prime as Prime himself is above others). I'd only remotely bet on the likes of Marvel *cosmic* entities to do more than vaguely annoy this Amazo.

If he copies the powers from one of the Lantern like Ion or Parallax... game over, man. Game friggin' over. Even Superboy Prime was hindered by Superman and the Guardians themselves. Amazo could probably just prevent all yellow sunlight from being absorbed into Prime's cells, teleport him into the middle of a red sun, or just plow through him without stopping like he did to the ENTIRE JLU and GL Corps.
