  • Merge with Helios is the CANON Ending because it leads into Invisible War.

There are two ways to join the Illuminati?

  • One of the most hilarious moments in gaming ever..... (For me)

    3:05

  • The whole point is that the world is hopelessly fucked, none of the endings are good, they are just three points of view on how to salvage the godawful, messed up world.

  • i cant find any bio mod canisters help!

  • @seargentermy Don't worry. I was throwing them away at the end of the game. Just remember this tip. When you start using your lockpick or multitool you can go to inventory for the time it'd take to pick/hack your objective and it will be opened using only 1 tool. Also 2001 is the code for unatco's computer guy's room.

  • Great video.

  • oh finish this game

  • vilken av de fyra endings passar mest invisble war

  • @obanana97 Den första. zeboqg4t9vs

  • I feel that the Tracer Tong ending was the 'true' ending to Deus Ex, because despite the fact that there's a sequel and there's storyline and stuff, Invisible War never could even come close to living up to the original game. We can only hope that the prequel is just as good or better than the original Deus Ex...

  • At 3:15 when his body falls, I wish I could run down and poke his lifeless corpse with my Dragon's Tooth.

  • Controlling everyone and reading everyones thoughts? No thanks, although you can have the power to do good humanity will be forever altered and controlled by you and a computer merged.

    Tong's ending is best

  • Comment removed

  • LOL , at the end ,

if a dancer guy touch red laser , start allarm and everybody will be enemies?

  • the Helios ending is my favorite. I liked the pure anarchy ending but i couldn't resist that power.

  • spawned lam grenades at end xP

better thing is with gas grenades xD

  • Helios ending=Invisible War. :U

Dark Age ending=Illuminati would take over anyway like in IW, 'cept JC never merged with the Helios... (Would Alex Denton be alive?)

Illuminati ending=JC and Morgan Everet take the place of Walton Simons and Bob Page, but less evil.

Dance Party ending= Further antics of JC "Suuuuure" Denton.

  • @0Angel0A lol when JC said "suuuure" in the game i just rotfld xD

  • @shrint

    SHERRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • The quote in the dark age ending, explains why should not follow the Illuminati. They are nothing but liars.

  • so, if I have a 4 cores Processor I need to turn off 3 ?

  • Yes

  • @Immortaleagle

    8? :D

    Sorry i am just trolling.

This is MY No.1 GAME of all times.

Overplayed all options/endings/styles in '06/07 when i didn't give a damn about graphics.

My brain was only operating for Deus Ex that time. Oh ... sweet memories :)

I am so excited about 3rd installment!!! A true DX fan should be! :)

  • @buczek0711

    no -.-

    just run in "Open GL"

  • @buczek0711 no i got a quad core prosessor too and im running this game perfectly on windows 7 64 bit

  • mmm, much better than my pervously computer (Duron 1 GHz, 512 DDR Kingston, 256 MB GF 6200 GT) ;]

So, Deus run correctly on 4 core AMD ?

Because on your PC running good ?

  • @buczek0711 dual core=2 cores. You have to turn off one core to the game or else it will go to fast.

  • @Immortaleagle That's not necessarily true. I played it on my Core 2 Duo computer without any problems.

  • @Immortaleagle Yeah or you can go into the game files and adjust a few things to slow the game down.

  • @buczek0711 i have a crappy laptop - 1.66ghz core 2 duo, 2gb ram, and 64mb integrated graphics - but deus ex runs at constant 60fps

  • from another side - what is your computer ?

I play on Duron 1 GHz, 512 ddr and GF 6200 GT on high in 1152x864;high detail level, extra textures on, 16-bit graphic and I don't have flames in TT ending (when Bob Page said "NOOOOOOOO" you have flames in movie, I don't have flames in my version of game).

    Now understand my question ?

  • @buczek0711 Geforce 7900GTX, 2Gb ram, Amd Dual Core 5000+

  • To: Immortaleagle

buczek0711 must be forgetting that when this was posted youtube didn't allow HD video, thus it was degraded because YT shrunk it down and compressed the crap out of your original vid.

  • how you made this effects after button in iluminati ending ?

In my deus ex I don't have this effects, even on high detail and texture level.

  • Exactly what effects are you talking about? I played on highest settings.

  • @Euphytoseful deus ex club mix

  • There should be one more ending; JC allows Page to conect with Helios and becomes his pupet in the new world

  • Lol yeah, JC would be like a new Walton Simons.

Walton did remind me of an older JC with his calm demeanor and coat. I think that's how JC would have ended up being if he was never recruited by his brother.

  • exactly! i would have loved Europe as my own continant!

  • How do you get the rave ending?

  • console

  • Enable cheats, then go to the credits and type "danceparty".

  • Comment removed

  • Well it depends on who you ask but i personally like the original pc version better rather then a conversion.

  • Um duh...the first pc version came out in 2000, while the ps2 version came out in 2002...

  • There should have been a profound quote for the rave ending.

  • @holyafromonkey "Poor bastard will see the bats soon enough"

  • @videosfromderelix

The idea that some street bum that could have had a life, but choce not to gets the same treatment as a lawyer, security guard or even a store clerk is sickening. I would rather see the world ruled by deserving corporations than leeching governments.

  • @slayer66616 That's bullshit. Nobody chooses to be poor and why do corporations deserve anything just because they have more scraps of paper than us?

Maybe you were lucky enough to be born into money but not everyone gets their life handed to them. Who's to say that "bum's" life is any less important than yours? At least the bum is less concerned with shallow material possessions than you are, or is that the only way you can value life?

  • @videosfromderelix

Or you should just stop and start thinking outside the box. I lived with a poor single parent father who had hardly any cash to support himself. I chose not to stay poor. There are plenty of bums and poor people that are that way because they didn't do everything they could have. They got lazy, they were weak or something else. In this country pretty much every bum is a bum because they failed in their business or just chose(yes it's a choice here) not to educate themselves.

  • @slayer66616 That's bullshit. Now your just making things up, if you were really poor how did you "decide not to be poor"? Oh wait i get it, secret that you can only share with other "achievers"

Here in the real world, if you don't have enough money you cannot pay for college. If you don't have any money, you can't buy a home. If you don't have a home or clean clothes, good luck getting in to a decent public school.

You sound like some spoiled brat who wants to make a point.

  • @videosfromderelix

Sigh the ignorance... In this country almost everyone has a chance to get to the top. Education is mostly free and banks give loans that can help you pay for your education and living. Most students with poor origins work their ass off while they study. It's not a new story here it's not a special one. It's very common here for poor people to decide to go on with that route. I feel disgusted because most bums in my country chose to stay that way and live with our taxes.

  • @slayer66616 It's pretty easy to call somebody who disagrees with you "ignorant" but the fact is, free education doesn't get you shit. Banks don't give loans to everyone for their education. No it is not common for poor people to decide to be rich or middle class, you think it is because your a kid who has been fed such garbage in plenty of movies. I can tell just by reading your comments that you don't know what its like to be poor.

  • @videosfromderelix

It's pretty easy to call somebody a kid when you don't know what you are talking about. There is poor(living on the street sleeping in a garbage bin) and there is poor(very low salary you have to count and manage with care every euro and cent to get a long) I don't know what movies you have watched, but i haven't seen a single garbage movie fitting your description. You should think outside US. Things are not like they are there in every single country.

  • @slayer66616 obviously, and how does any of that disprove my point?

Your telling me my ideas are wrong because you don't see them in movies? Your insane. You believe what you see in movies, really man? I never met a grown man who believed everything he has seen in movies is reality so i have to assume your a child, sorry if that's incorrect but when you sling insults like you have I don't see another possibility.

  • @videosfromderelix

You are either a troll or i don't know what the hell your problem is. You keep missing obvious points and keep making completely weird assumptions. You only address the most nonsensical points in my messages. It was you who suggested that i get my ideas from the movies not, me, my point is that i couldn't even get those ideas in the fireplace since i haven't seen any movies like that. I'm beginning to believe that you are the kid here just laughing while trolling.

  • @videosfromderelix

Wait you are 19 and you call other people kids based by their political thinking?

You haven't seen the world enough to even make a statement about poverty not one that people will take seriously... Travel the world around, just check around the Internet, read history and about social statuses around the world, maybe then you will learn to think outside USA. "Know it all" attitude for kids like you is not good.

  • @videosfromderelix

Sigh so you are just another kid who hasn't finished any real schools yet, but already thinks he knows better. Get over yourself. Come back to me when you begin living in the real world.

  • The fusion between JC and Helios might be a refference to the fusion of Major Kusanagi and the Puppet Master in GITS, and the worldwide blackout and what Tong says... kinda reminds me of the way of life that Sionites had in the Matrix... These two endings really are awesome, they have a lot of emotion.

  • Was anyone else disappointed that you didn't get to fight Bob Page?

  • Well, it wasn''t that much of an action game... so I think there's no point in expecting a regular boss fight. And this way you can have moments like the many lines of Bob Page negotiating both with JC and with Helios.

  • Yes, I was disappointed as well.

  • Going back to the dark ages doesn't necessarily mean you will inevitably come back to start, that's just one of many possible outcomes. And Helios was man made, which means that if it was programmed to serve mankind then it would serve mankind in the fashion its creators' saw fit.

I'd definitely go with the dark ages ending, luckily no single man would have to make the choice.

  • Helios being sentient would be mean it would serve humanity in what ever way IT saw fit. Think I robot .

"To protect humanity from it self, some freedoms must be lost" - VIKI The dark ages ending is really the only good ending in the fact that it doesn't preclude other possibilities. with the dark age, society can at least rebuild and go on from there. So I go with the dark age ending in the fact that I wouldn't want, Helios or the Illuminati to have control. both represent central authority.

  • how to get the party ending?

  • Type "Dance Party" during the credits.

  • wtf wat wit the ending????

  • Okay, at the main menu, type in "press 't' first" Set DeusEx.JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabled True... hit enter and then type in Open_99_EndGame4

  • Wtf is this last ending? ;o

  • Illuminati ending is foolish, it's just giving another powerful group of elite (just like MJ12) power over the world through stupid bureaucracies and corrupted governments. Yes, it would have perhaps saved most people but the same cycles and problems would repeat themselves.

  • 1:56 to 2:02 incredible music there

  • Tong's ending sucks, he just resets, and we start all over again back to where the game is set.

  • What says that it will be the same next time?

  • Didn't you watch Battlestar Galactica finale?

  • nope

  • Everett is an evil bastard that wants to use JC to gain access to Area 51 to control the world.

Helios is a strange machine but if JC merges with him he can do many things that are very evil or really good.

Tong doesn't even know that people like Everett and the ilumanati and the guild can and will take over the world, even after all of the area 51 one is destroyed.

The party ending is just frickin ridiculous.

  • Tong's ending (2) only pushes back the inevitable re-creation of global communications and the Illuminati.

Everett's ending (3) is quite obviously the most evil ending.

I think the best one is Helios' ending (1). Helios may be a machine but he has no greed or selfish ambitions. He just runs a program to serve humanity as much as he can with all the information he has. Plus, he merges with you.

And wtf is that rave ending lol?

  • Id go with the fourth ending PARTY TIME!

  • of all the endings, i'd go for Helios.

The idea of an instant democracy is apealing =D

  • But the Illuminati is cool D:

  • @happyking9

    Instant communism you mean?

  • @slayer66616 no, i didn't

    now go away

  • @happyking9

Well that's what it is. It's nothing like democracy, it's much closer to communism.

The public doesn't decide what's best for you, they don't even decide who leads them. It was all take over bad that "God in machine" and this god in machine decides what is best for everyone and what we need. Now tell me how that isn't communism.

  • @slayer66616

I remember in Invisible War somewhere Helios talking about "weighing everyone's needs and desires every moment and acting accordingly". or something in that line.

And holding a new vote every second sounds pretty super-democratic to me.

  • @happyking9

A new vote when the only voter is one "god" and the one who acts upon the vote is still the same god. Sounds like an autocracy to me. It is not democracy. It might be better for us all and everyone lives as equal and gets what they need, but it's still not democracy. The fact that you are forced into obeying this new rule in the first place is everything democracy is against. It's an Utopian communism.

  • @happyking9

In Democracy you get at least a chance to say what you want. How is it Democracy when people like the Illuminati don't even get a chance to say no. In Democracy the bigger part rules and the lesser complaints, but in this Helios' rule the lesser doesn't even get to complaint. Greedy people like me who would like to see corporations ruling instead of governments don't have a say. It might be better for general public, but it's not a democracy.

  • @slayer66616 Yeah great let the corporations run themselves. The problem is, they're running this country and you as well. The closest thing to the "Illuminati" in reality is the corporations.

  • @happyking9 yeah but you know it wouldn't work by what people want (that's democracy) but by what the god believes they need. If its a good god, no problem. People who need food or water get it. If its a bad god, well you get things like genocide (maybe a majority of people "need" certain people dead) or food rationing. It could go either way really but democracy isn't a very good system anyways. What happens when the majority wants to step on the minority?

  • @slayer66616 socialism would be a better term but it's not inherently evil. Its just generally obtained by evil people. If a good person had complete, Helios style control, it would be better than any democracy.

  • @videosfromderelix

Ideologies and forms of power are rarely ever inherently evil. The only thing is that socialism is bullshit. There should not be equal rule when people are not equal. Not everything belongs to the bum outside and the person who had worked his ass of t o create his company from scratch. Morally right or not people are too stupid to rule themselves and too lazy to deserve equal rights. Illuminati would be the best thing this world can get.

  • @slayer66616 Communism is different from Socialism.

Socialism is a decent form of government, France uses it, and it works.

Communism however, almost always works out badly.

  • @SgtMustang No shit sherlock. The helios ending in this game is deffinately closer to communism than socialism. I know the difference, but i don't care for either. The other guy began talking about socialism and i just told him why i don't like it.

I don't temember France being a socialist country. At least not fully. There might be a rise in people who support it, but it doesn't make the country socialist. they are in EU and their economics and market prices are Based on use values? I think not

  • @slayer66616 France is a socialist country, except it also uses a democratic system. Socialism is an economic system, whereas democracy is a political system.

So although you have all the benefits of democracy, you work on a socialist economy.

  • @SgtMustang From the 2008 CIA World Factbook:

"Socialism - a government in which the means of planning, producing, and

distributing goods is controlled by a central government that

theoretically seeks a more just and equitable distribution of property

and labor; in actuality, most socialist governments have ended up being

no more than dictatorships over workers by a ruling elite."

  • @happyking9

Apparently Ion Storm couldn't decide; ALL THREE ARE CANON.

  • @happyking9 Actually Helios is a benevolent dictator.

  • @happyking9 This is why dictatorships succeed.

  • I either go for helios or Tong's ending. I like the idea of just pushing the reset button but it would lead to another age like the one you're trying to stop eventually. Helios on the other hand could create a fair world

  • I thought the ending would be better... like a boss fight with page at least... damn, or at least getting to go about after mergin with Helio (i did that one) with super powers. damN! to behonest I feel the first half of the game is the best. but all in all 10/10

  • I did the helios one too, it just seemed like the easiest one to me, just walk up to him lol, although theres probly more i just dont remember and my disk is all scratched.

  • ur right, it kinda went down hill after hong kong

  • We are Deadalus. We are Icarus. The barriers between us have fallen and we have become our own shadows...

  • "In the end, all sins are forgiven, even yours"

Wow...thats really deep, and the music in the back goes perfectly with it. Bravo, Warren Spector.

  • Alexander brandons music is the best i have heard in any game

  • Tong ´s solution just resets the timer for the whole world dictatorship to happen after another 2000 years.

The Illuminati solution is about leading the masses into the day sooner or later.

So in the end Helios solution is the only logic step, the only decision you make is about when the mashine/man-god is created, not if.

  • Lol the fourth ending waS great.

  • That's not correct. If history comes back to the beginning, then another evolution of events is possible. I don't think the future of mankind is to be ruled by a god-machine.

  • this is a game

  • what?

  • Best ending is the club ending haha, if only u could see JC having fun in the dancefloor....

  • how did you get the 4 th ending? the dancing one ???

  • cheating

  • so which oes dadleause or however yah spell it

  • God damn your resolution is low. Your hud takes up almost all the screen

  • The resolution is 1024 x 768

  • why would gunther and navarre be in deux ex 3 if you killed them...

  • Deus ex 3 is set before the first one. Btw who said they are goíng to be in the third?

  • your a security guard guarding the place where they are researching Augmentations, basically you have to protect the research place from terrorists.

  • Please, can you tell me where did you find that info?

I had spent many hours looking for the argument and features of deus ex 3.

  • When i was 11 i thought tracer tong's was the best i hadn't noticed it would put everyone in a dark age. phew seems alittle silly to blow it up and ruin all the years of research.

  • Tracer Tong's plan was to prevent just 1 person from ruling the world. Which was exactly Helios's and Page's plan. The Illuminati wanted to rule the world as well but as a secret organization and not a dictatorship. Helios wanted to effectively take over the world as a perfect uncorrectable dictator and needed J.C. for that. That was why the decision J.C. makes at the end is a moral decision. It is what he determines is the best choice for the planet.

  • But causing a global meltdown turning things into chaos w/ tong would just be the worst point in history setting everything back 2000 years. Should of hijacked helios and control it peacefully w/o the illuminati or page.

  • Tong's perception is that the last 2000 years were the fall of humanity. Since now you can see that with Page's perception. He wanted to control the entire world and no one could ever hope to stop him. Tong of course didn't want to use Helios at all since Helios of course wanted to rule the world and the Illuminati would have of course just taken Helios as soon as possible. Tong just wanted to cut all the bullshit there

  • Wouldn't this be better than choosing helios then DaSeek3r? Tong's choice that is

  • Like I said. The final choice was a moral choice as to what the player percieves as the best choice for humanity. Rule the world as a perfect dictator, rule with the illuminati towards a common goal or destroy all technology and let humanity revert back into it's simpler state.

  • What would be your personal chioce?

  • I personally chose Helios's. Helios had the most convincing argument (as a machine he could properly have power without being corrupted). Plus I liked the idea of J.C. Denton only after the period of a few days goes from UNATCO rookie to god out of the machine

  • The first time I played, I chose Tong's ending, I didn't want to be "one" with a machine, because it would defeat the purpose of free-will, I didn't want to rule the world with the Illuminati because I don't believe in any real kind of government (after all I had witnessed). I felt like it was time to "reset" the world and start anew, wherever that would take humanity...

Btw, why isn't all of tong's ending shown? With the world going dark...? I have the ps2 version by the way lol

  • First time I played I chose destruction. But with destruction comes the instability of smaller nation states, so it would have to be either Helios or Illuminati.

I would not want to spend the rest of my life wired to an AI being forced to constantly make decisions and possibly have to micromanage, so I really prefer the Illuminati. I kind of dislike the lack of honesty, but at least it's not a dictatorship. Even a perfect dictator takes away freedoms.

  • one of the hardest decisions....

  • It's easy if you think selfishly, though ;)

You don't want to sit around in Area 51 talking funny the rest of your life, and you don't want to live without the internet. If you're in the Illuminati you could probably pull some strings and sip mimosas on your luxury yacht :P

  • i guess your right...

  • I think merging with the AI would remove some human needs so "sitting around " in Area 51 isnt all that bad :D I personally like the idea JC comes up in Invisible War, making everyone equal by granting biomods for everyone. But then, the Illuminati doesnt seem to enforce having biomods.. Yet there is always another bastard like Bob Page, taking the whole pie for himself... :D

  • I would integrate my brain with Helios? Why? Because then I can have ultimate knowledge.

  • I'd go with Illuminati. But I'd rather be with the Knights Templar, keep everything normal and human.

  • Illuminait IS a dictatorship. It's just hard to perceive it, it's not obvious like having a king. The dark ages is the best ending, the nation states will balance each other out and there will be no central power to control over world events. Freedom basically.

  • LOL the blood on the dancefloor at the end looks so chilling.

  • the 4th ending was definitely the best

  • Nothing like a little 4th ending 'Dance Party' to get ya going eh? LOL! Great video ImmortalE! I have a very powerful PC, capable of playing all the latest in super-high resolutions and wicked frame-rate's etc., but I keep coming back and playing Deus Ex. Quite possibly has to be the best game of all time on any platform. Non-stop action, intrigue, conspiracy and allure. Warren Spector et. al mad props and high fives! Nothing short of superb!

  • That comment said it all ^^ unfortunatly i don't think Deus ex 3 will be as good :/

  • You can only hope that Deus ex 3 lives up to the first one and not Invisible war. If it sucks, my computer is near a window.....

  • actually deus x 3 is going to be more like deus ex one than invisible war, ion storm picked up on the negative feedback from invisible war

  • great game.

    awesome endings.

i just hope the third one is as good.

  • is the fourth one real ??

  • Yes, it's an easteregg

  • whats an easteregg

  • A secret thing that the developers placed in the game for fun you could say.

  • I beat this game for the 76th time or so, and this game never gets old for me, especially its philosophies and of course the endings.

To me, the endings are a question of what YOU, the game player, believe, will the Illuminati not make the mistakes Bob Page did? will starting the world's government with a clean slate via a dark age correct the problem? Will Helios/JC truly lead the world into a new age of peace or will it become anarchy when someone tries to seize power?

  • Wow 76 times, it's like a really strong drug. The game just want's you back.

  • Yes it does, I do go back to read all the books in there though, that was a very nice touch on the game designers' part

  • Oooooh theres a deus ex book, if so i wana buy it

  • I think he mean the books in the game :P

  • ending in a dance party wtf?!

  • if JC really wanted to set humanity down the correct path, he would choose the 4th ending

  • lmao

  • What a shame.

  • Each of the three endings is deeper and more brilliant than the one of any other game.

And for me, Invisible War wasn't bad, but it was so much smaller and less epic - like a short story continuing the plot of an epic novel.

  • I think it's better to know the truth. Also a democratic decision taking process is the most viable. However it will only work if we, the people, take actively part in that process. Generally I d'ont trust single person or secret organisations ruling. To much possibility for despotism (Hitler, Stalin, Saddam and so on). Who are they to think to know what's best.

  • i choose the fourth one

  • they should really make a pc version of deus ex:conspiracy. Cause the old pc version doesn't have cinematics

  • I didn't like the fact that all the endings were at my fingertips. destroyed the necessity of replaying when I could just reload a save and hit one of three buttons.

  • Yeah I would have liked it maybe more if the decision on which way to go was done about half to 3/4 way though and then you would have different objectives for there on and thus a different game till the end.

  • lol one of the dancers in the fourth ending is Maggie Chow

    Best game ever

  • The only good ending IMHO is the Helios one. Because of several reasons. The dark age ending is not good at all, and it semms to me that Tracer Tong didn't really thing it through, because how would you want to deliver Ambrosia to people w/o electricity? The world would die out after some time. Then the illuminati, just means giving unlimited powr to a power-hungry person, and basicly putting the world to the situation just before the problems started, and they might very likely hapen again.

  • Not only would a widespread distribution of the vaccine become impossible also the supply with food itself for city populations would diminish to a marginal extent if not cease entirely. 100s of millions would starve. Reminds me a little of the Khmer Rouge who forced the people out of the cities into the jungle where they died of hunger. The resulting situation would make a cool scenario for a game though ^^ ...

  • I personally don't like the idea of letting an independently-minded AI construct taking control over my thoughts and actions. The Illuminati ending is much better. You would cure those infected with the virus and afterwards start to influence and control societies for the betterment of humanity. Nobody would know what happened, the virus threat would be finished and their lives would be improved by your rule. Also, I agree with Everett's last comments: most people aren't ready to know the truth.

  • In my opinion knowing the truth is always better.

  • This was the best game of all time.

  • its the first one

  • I think really the "true" ending was the one where JC destroyed the power generator, it explains why the "collapse" occured in the next game, and its also the sadest, maybe because of the music?

  • All of them are true.

    - JC merged with Helios, but the merge was imperfect, so he can not rule the world as a benevolent dictator.

    - Area 51 destroyed, Collapse occured, but JC/Helios and Illuminati survived.

    - Illuminati create the WTO and the Order to control people.
