This is the beta, many players have access to The Wrath of the Lich King Beta.

You need to be level 55 before you can create a Death Knight on your server.

no they wont. To unlock the death knight one of your existing characters must be lvl 55 or higher. If you have one, then you are allowed to create a NEW character, the death knight in this case.

**NOTE** this will not overwrite your other character. This rule is in place to PREVENT noobs from attaining death knight right off the bat.
