The key to Knox and Sollecito's situation must be the extent the DNA evidence is reliable and if there could in reasonable probability be an innocent explanation for it, especially in light of the fact that AK and RS left no DNA evidence in the room other than the bra hook which does sound very unlikely. As for Guede, his story does sound incredible, although I think the most intriguing part is the dump he took which completely fits in with his versino of events. It also suggests he was invited

I think Guede has for the most part told the truth - Knox and Sollecito have not done themselves any favors by lying...

In any case Sollecito's foot print was in Meredith's room that was locked! It was knocked down after police arrived and noone was allowed to enter... This is pretty sound evidence that he was in the room and knew about the murder.

Also the body was moved and a break in was staged... the evidence points to Amanda whose DNA was found in the room where the break in was staged...

JHJennings you should read the Michelli report and you will realise that there is more to this case then kartwheels and stumbling upon a body.... there are eye witnesses there are lies and there is DNA evidence.

It is the job of the defense team to cast doubt on all these and they have done a good job BUT there is SO MUCH EVIDENCE that it is impossible to accept Amanda was not involved in the murder. She should come clean and say what happened because all the evidence points to her presence!

On the contrary, there is NO evidence that puts Amanda in the room where the murder occurred. The DNA evidence is so weak that it would not be admissible in U.S. court and there are timing issues that would confuse any careful investigator. The eye witnesses did not see anything that can't be easily explained. So all that exists, is VERY circumstantial and subject to either kind or unkind interpretation. It appears to me that Guede acted alone and was the last to see Kercher alive.

The amount of circumstantial evidence is substantial and therefore cannot be explained away... Sollecito's DNA found on the bra was a huge amount and the dispute of contamination would not stand up even in a US court.

You should read the Michelli report and you will see that NO EVIDENCE has been produced to put Knox or Sollecito where they say they were and ALL the evidence points to them being at the house.

On the question of Guede... I believe he accepts that he was the last to see her alive

There is DNA evidence and an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence that points to S and K presence and guilt. They also cleaned the crime scene and this cannot be disputed as the evidence is SUBSTANTIAL. In my opinion there is NOTHING WORSE THAN MURDER that they can be covering up. Knox was confessing but her family told her NOT TO TALK to police and got her lawyers etc

I have no doubt in my mind that AK was in the house because she and her extensive legal and PR team have not yet given one plausible scenario of what she was doing that night.

Instead the prosecution has revealed lie after lie - and one can only infer that they are covering up something.

Every thing that comes out of her mouth is proven to be a lie - because she was there. Because she is guilty!

She may have come to the house, left the house, and come again, during and after the murder. That does not mean she came anywhere near the murder victim. If she agreed with you that her presence appeared to incriminate her, she may have unwisely and unnecessarily lied about being there. Again, that does not mean she's a murderer. Legally AK does not need to plunge the knife herself to be guilty of murder. The only consideration is whether "were it not for her actions" MK would have died. If she was an instrument in any way and had the intention to harm, knowing that MK may be hurt - she is guilty of murder.

This is UK law in a nutshell, I dont think it would vary much in Italy

The best clue, for me, is that she is still Amanda and I know she would not be, if she had assisted in a rape and truly horrific murder. I would expect a coldness and a lack of affect, less defensiveness, a different demeanor in court. She wasn't part of this. She just acted stupidly, after she became a suspect.

I didnt know Amanda and do not know what her behavior was like before or after the murder. What I do see is that the evidence implicates her beyond a reasonable doubt.

In the same way that her abnormal cartwheels cannot prove her guilt, her spirited manner does not mean that she is innocent.

Giselle, so much depends on the timing of Knox's behaviors. That timing is very confusing because it's obvious that she came and went more than once. It is obvious, also, that she didn't necessarily check on Meredith and probably did NOT know of the murder until police informed her. You enjoy this discussion but only the Appeals Process can clarify these speculations.

It's VERY possible that Guede, Sollecito, and Knox are innocent of the murder and that an unknown broke into the flat, raped, murdered, and fled the scene. It could easily be true that the three convicted simply showed up afterward, unaware of what had happened to Kercher. We have no evidence to the contrary of that.

Amanda didn't call the police she was caught by the postal police with mop+bucket in the front of the house!

The police was trying to identify the owner of 2 cell phones found in a garden nearby - the phones belonged to Meredith

Amanda+Sollecito's cell phones were active 6am - they said they woke up at 10am - the police arrived around 12:30 - they police received a call from Raffaele 15 min after the arrival of the postal police at the house!
