  • lol, that was a hell of a combover he had at school.

  • I LOVE his work. I like how you think his writing is going in one direction, but then bitch slaps you in the face and sling shots you into a whole other direction.

  • I was unaware that clive is gay...it changes nothing for me.

    he's still my hero.

    5*****

    thanks for posting this. (again)

  • it's strange how he looked about 20 years old up until the mid 90s(he's 42 in this interview) and then seemed to age 30 years at once, simultaneously roughening up into a complete badass. Clive is one of Britain's most importance artists.

  • Great upload, thanks:)

  • Clive Barker is my hero. He's so inspirational.

  • Wow man, I haven't seen this for 15 years. Thanks for posting!!

  • clive barker is the one guy who made me draw the way i do but unlike him i got kicked out of school for 3 days becasue of what drew. my art teacher said my art wasnt art it was a waste of telent

  • @xxRezdogxxkiller Some art teachers can be real dickheads.

  • Barker has fascinated me since a child. He is a master of the the Great Beyond. I am halfway through his book Imajica and am still learning.

  • OK what gies? I was born in Liverpool in 1959 and I now live in the USA too. I have a mild scouse accent. Why does Barker sound like he is a Russian? very puzzling...

  • God damn it, what happened to him now? His voice is way too raspy now.

  • @FractalBolt I read somewhere that he had had some polys or something like that on his vocal cords that were removed, which can damage them

  • its wonderful to see such old videos of him...as i dont have a chance ever to see him live...:(

  • This is awesome! Thanks for posting this!

  • my favorite cllive barker book is "everville" and "the hellbound heart"

  • My favorite Stephen King novel is IT and my favorite Clive Barker novel is the Thief of Always.

  • Interesing play. The mural adds a creepy depth to the scene.

  • Yeah, it's not a competition. And King on the whole has a better body of work. But "The Books of Blood" and "The Hellbound Heart" are better than anything King has ever done. Clive was really in the zone when he wrote those.

  • I think your analysis is spot on for horror, but I would add that I believe the Green Mile to be a masterpiece.

  • Stephan King and Clive Barker are my two favorite authors. I have to disagree with you. The Shinning and IT beat The books of blood and the hellbound heart.

  • @JamesBurrTV The Hellbound Heart is not as good as It

  • fuck that! clive kicks the balls off of stephen king!

    even King said so!

  • I like King and Barker, its not sport competition...

  • @lovesthedark AMEN!

  • @lovesthedark WRONG..."I have seen the future of horror, it's name is Clive Barker" is way to different from "Clive Barker kicked my ass"

Why these competitions between both writers? They are both awesome!

  • @lovesthedark Richard Matheson beats both of them.

  • @Trentonater47 Nah.

  • clive barker is a great author! as good as stephen king. not better. sorry clive. king is the best.

  • From what movie is the scene shown on minute 2:24 and 2:26...they look like Hellraiser, but I've seen all the movies from Hellraiser and thoose monsters aren't from Hellraiser

  • They're from the 80s movie "Nightbreed" which was based on Barker's novel, "Cabal." Not a great film (although the book is great) but it's notable as it has David Cronenburg in an acting role.

  • thanks for the post!

  • thanks--i have been searching for this one for ages--saw this on the sci fi channel in the 90's.....

Saludos.

  • love it

  • aww, look at Clive, so cute.

  • mr and mrs barker in their sunday best, great!

  • His artwork is very beautiful... reminds me of HR Giger

  • THANKU SO MUCH 4 UPLOADING THIS - I REMEMBER RECORDING THIS AROUND 89' BUT THE PICTURE WAS SNOWY BUT WATCHABLE - AS AN ARTIST & FILM MAKER I WOULD WATCH THIS OVER & OVER BECAUSE OF THE INTERESTING CONTENT - HOW CLIVE MADE THE 'FORBIDDEN' ON A STUDENT GRANT! MY FAV COMMENT WAS ABOUT - CHILDREN IN THE PLAYGROUND; HOW CREATIVE THEY ARE & THEN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM PREPARES THEM 4 WORK etc. Amazing Artist & brilliant visionary!

  • it was on in 1996 not 1989 btw

  • Thanks for the upload!
